SiteManPro Membership Script (free)

I just downloaded this WM membership script from here---->SiteManPro

Has anybody used it and if so could you answer some questions.

1. In the download area they mention purchasing add ons but when you click on the link the only thing that comes up is an unlimited site license for $40. What are the additional add ons?

2. How does it compare to Digital Access Pass as far as ease of use and content delivery (drip etc.)

3. How's the support?

Thanks

Hi Kevin - I'm the developer of SMP. I'll let actual users post a feedback. But I'll clarify few things here:

I just downloaded this WM membership script from here---->SiteManPro
    >> This is NOT a WP (WordPress) Membership script. The core software has a strict modular architecture and can expand in features horizontally as much as you want. It uses the concept of "apps", something similar to WordPress plugins, or iTunes marketplace.

So the app that you see on the "extras" link on the site is its very first app, a WordPress Membership Plugin. This plugin allows you to create as many membership sites using WordPress, while SiteManPro does all the heavy lifting of maintaining and billing your members account. That means, you can use this plugin on 100s of your WordPress sites and convert them into membership sites instantly and your customers will still enjoy the convenience of using the same login details across all your sites.

Similar to WordPress plugin, we will be releasing similar plugins for Joomla, and ExpressionEngine shortly. That means you will be able to create 10s of membership sites on WordPress, 20s of them on Joomla and 30s on ExpressionEngine and still you'd be able to maintain all your members access from one central dashboard - SiteManPro.

And it's not limited to only membership sites. The invoicing app, project management app, keyword research app and lot others are in our roadmap. And once these apps are available on our marketplace, you can just download what you need and install it right inside the core software.

Hope this clarifies the "purpose" of the software

That link is for the marketplace and since the only add-on released is WordPress Membership Plugin, that's what you see there. You will see more add-ons shortly in the same marketplace.

    2. How does it compare to Digital Access Pass as far as ease of use and content delivery (drip etc.)
I'd leave that up to Warriors to comment on, but take a look at a review posted on WSOWeekly:

You can also watch this video "How To Build a WordPress Membership Site" that shows how easy it is to use the plugin.

    Hey Kevin,
I think I was one of the first people to discover the Sitemanpro software when it came out and I've been absolutely blown away by how easy it is to get set up and going.

    Just from my experience:
Once you get the core database setup (the free download), the wordpress module is a breeze to get setup.

The drip content feature works exactly like you think it should.
It's one of those things that "just works". I'm not an overly technical IMer and I got it up without much trouble.

The other nice thing about the Sitemanpro is the customer service. I have been absolutely blown away by how willing the developer was to help me get everything up and running.

There is a very helpful support forum that comes with everything....

All in all.... I have been really happy with this software over the other offerings on the market.

    Hope that helps Kevin!
    Dr. Ben Adkins

P.S. I believe the Wordpress Module is the only one out right now.... Bought it... and I must say... I feel like I took money out of the developers pocket for how cheap it was..... and how well it does what they say it does.

I have purchased a few WSO's from Dr. Ben so I am on his list. Today he sent out a recommendation to take a look at Sitemanpro. The timing for me was perfect as I am about to create a membership site. I have no programing skills at all but after watching the 36 minute video created by Kevin (the developer of SMP) I feel that I can handle this project.

I will purchase the plugin tomorrow and report on my progress over the next few weeks.
Thank to Dr. Ben for pointing this product out and also a thanks to developer Kevin for creating what looks like a great platform.

Can you tell me, please, whether it integrates well with Optimize Press?

          Deep,

          Thanks for the speedy reply.

Two other questions if I may:

          1) If I'm planning to use either streaming videos or downloads stored on S3, do I need another plugin to help protect those videos from being passed around? If so, I'm considering either S3FlowShield or S3Media Stream. Do either/both of these plugins work with SiteManPro's WP plugin?

          2) I'm interested in using e-junkie as my payment processor. Do you support that option? It seems to me that you don't (yet?) and I was wondering when/if you were planning to add it. When in February do you hope to add additional payment processing options?

          With thanks,

            >> We do have a similar plugin (CDNVault.com) that comes with an additional feature of a commercial flowplayer license for free and that also allows to run your ads in videos. But you don't need CDNVault or S3Flowshield because in SMP we have added exactly the same feature to protect your downloads from S3. This feature will be available this coming week and will be included FREE in the core version, so you can protect file downloads that are served from SMP. And if you want to play videos using WordPress in private members area, then you can get CDNVault - it will do what you want and it just cost less than HALF what other similar plugins cost.

            2) I'm interested in using e-junkie as my payment processor. Do you support that option? It seems to me that you don't (yet?) and I was wondering when/if you were planning to add it. When in February do you hope to add additional payment processing options?

            > No e-junkie is not supported and I don't think it will be available anytime soon for one reason - they don't have an API for integration. There are other methods to integrate (email parsers etc), but they are not reliable. Also, if you intend to use e-junkie that actually defeats the whole purpose of SMP..centralization. Why would you want to scatter your customers across different systems? Just my 2 cents.

Currently SMP supports Paypal and Clickbank, and we are releasing AuthNet in 1st week of Feb. We do add payment processors on request too. So if you are looking for a specific payment processor, do let us know and we will do it.

Let me know if you have more questions Debbie.

Hi Allan - Yes, it works with any affiliate program as long as the sale can be recorded via a URL ping (99% affiliate software/networks have this feature). All you have to do is set this URL in "success notification url" in the settings in SMP:

      http://affiliatescriptornetworkurl.com/filaname.phporasporwhatever?amt={SMP_AMT}&receipt= {SMP_RECEIPT}&name={SMP_NAME}&email={SMP_EMAIL}&pr oduct={SMP_PRODUCT}

      Deep,

Thanks for the two replies to my questions. Here are some more, if you don't mind.

I'm not a techie at all, so I want to be sure I understand your system. If I explain what I'm doing, perhaps it will be possible to tell me if your system will work for me.

I'm about to launch a series of products. I want each product to be delivered by autoresponder - one module a day for 10 days. In the autoresponder message will be a link to a website where the member has to login to see the information for that day and the previous days. If I understand right, this is your FTM type of site.

Eventually there may be dozens of products, each based on the same idea of autoresponder delivery linked to a password-protected website using WP which drips the information.

So all of these products would be managed through the main SMP site and each buyer would use one login to get to any of the courses he bought. Right?

If I want to be able to offer buyers bundles of courses, can I do that? So if there is a set of three courses together, how would that work as far as buying it and getting a login?

Do you know if either PayPal or ClickBank lets me add VAT if my buyers come from Israel (where I live)?

As for integrating with Optimize Press, in your video you talk about adding posts - but they add pages. Could you explain briefly (if it's too much, don't worry about it) how you integrate with Optimize Press for FTM sites?

I'm trying to understand about the need for an S3 security plugin using SMP. You say we don't need it - but couldn't people pass the video URLs around if we don't have some protection? Can I do closed captioning with your plugin and FlowPlayer? I really want my sites to be very accessible for the disabled.

I hope that's not too many questions and that they are clear to you. If not, just let me know and I'll try to explain better.

If I try the WP plugin and it doesn't work for me, is there a refund available?

      Thanks for your patience.

        >> Yup, you can handle this (FTM) easily with SMP:WP plugin.

Eventually there may be dozens of products, each based on the same idea of autoresponder delivery linked to a password-protected website using WP which drips the information.

So all of these products would be managed through the main SMP site and each buyer would use one login to get to any of the courses he bought. Right?
        >> Yup. Single login for all courses that customer has bought.

If I want to be able to offer buyers bundles of courses, can I do that? So if there is a set of three courses together, how would that work as far as buying it and getting a login?
All you have to do is create a product in SMP admin, and then add that product's id in all three courses website. So a customer who has bought that particular bundle can logon to any of the three sites with same login.

Do you know if either PayPal or ClickBank lets me add VAT if my buyers come from Israel (where I live)?
        >> Not sure of this. I will try to find out on this.

As for integrating with Optimize Press, in your video you talk about adding posts - but they add pages. Could you explain briefly (if it's too much, don't worry about it) how you integrate with Optimize Press for FTM sites?
        >> It's same as posts. For pages, you will see an option at the bottom (on page creation screen inside WP), as "Protect page", simply select YES for all the pages you wish to protect via SMP. For posts, it is other way round and all posts are protected by default until you select an option for a post as "bypass membership rules". So with Optimize press just select "protect this page" as yes and you are fine.

I'm trying to understand about the need for an S3 security plugin using SMP. You say we don't need it - but couldn't people pass the video URLs around if we don't have some protection? Can I do closed captioning with your plugin and FlowPlayer? I really want my sites to be very accessible for the disabled.
        >> If you want to serve videos in your membership site running on WP, then you do need the CDNVault. Captioning is not available, but I will take a look and if it's something that is doable easily and is a feature of flowplayer, I'd add it as a feature..though no promises.

If I try the WP plugin and it doesn't work for me, is there a refund available? Debbie
        >> Yes, but I'm sure it WILL work for you...

Hi Allan - The pricing for renewals is same as the price of the price of the add-on that come with unlimited site license.

For the add-ons that will be released for limited site license, renewal price would be about 20-40% of the retail price.

So for WP plugin, it will be $40/yr if you buy it before we increase the price to $99.

It should if they provide u an affiliate sale recording link. If you provide me a code that they provide you as a product vendor to record sales, I can confirm.

I don't think it can be integrated then as it looks like they control the affiliate link tracking and recording themselves and don't offer a way to vendor to kick the affiliate sale recording.

But a hint - what they r doing will soon be available inside SMP so ur affiliates can be paid realtime via paypal..just hang on tight

          For three reasons -
          1. I am in love with it...lol
          2. It is a choice of all fortune 500 companies for a reason - stability and excellent support. Even though most entrepreneurs use VBulletin, IPB is used by companies like Sony.
          3. It integrates out of box, that is no code hacks, that means 0% chances of getting your board hacked because of SMP...to this point I'd like to add that we are following this practice with ALL our integrations (wordpress integration, joomla integration etc) such that SMP touches no or minimal code of any other system.

            • Logical Thinkers - diplomatically uses "entrepreneurs" instead of "day-coders" or "rent-a-coders" who have no problem using VBulletin and yes, Wordpress too.
            • Real Programmers rarely use Wordpress and it probably pains Deep.Arora to even look at the Wordpress code of many colors.
            • Real Programmers are not Marketers. They don't even like marketing and would rather not be bothered with that part of the business.
            • They make the best business partners and every smart CEO has already moved his lawyer over to make room for another new best friend - his Programmer.
            • Real Programmers don't work for money which is why they can say "take it or leave it" and mean it whether it seems too high or too low to anyone else. See the last trait before you think about haggling over price.
            • Never piss off your Programmer because they can be more deadly than dodging bullets you can see coming!

Hows development going, i'd consider getting this and purchasing the wordpress add-on, but i'd need to know first that this is still going strong and under continual development. given that the last post here is from march, i have my doubts. also wondering whether the developer intends to integrate this with digiresults as a payment processor.

      Folks,

The OP had asked about comparisons with DigitalAccessPass when it comes to dripping, support etc.

I won't get into a "feature-slinging" competition here (cool new word, eh? :-) ), because SMP and DAP are not even in the same ball park when it comes to the target market - they have a free download and their unlimited license is like $40 - and DAP starts at $167.

I won't get into opinions about ease of use or feature richness, pricing, etc. But here are some absolute statements that I'm totally fine with making....

      1) No one does dripping like DAP. Just take a look at our "ContentResponder" section, and you'll see that it's actually easier to drip content with DAP than it is to, say, set up an autoresponder series with Aweber! We pioneered the concept of "Content Dripping", and I don't think anyone beats us at that game.

      2) No one continually develops and upgrades their product like we do at DAP. See our release history at DAP Change Log - Release Cycle - DigitalAccessPass.com , and you'll see how passionately we've been improving DAP steadily for almost 3 years now at the time of writing this)

      3) And of course, no one - and by this, I really mean no one - cares about their customers or about offering support for their product - like we do at DAP. You can Google us all you want, and you probably won't find a single soul that will disagree with this particular statement :-)

So there... something for you to think about before buying any software product, leave alone membership software.

      Cheers!

      - Ravi Jayagopal

HEy Guys, yeah, seems like SiteManPro is going down the tubes fast, NO activity for 3 months on support forums I was just in there. Shame.

Ravi, how up to date is this? Your software looks good.
DigitalAccessPass (DAP) vs WishList vs Amember vs Memberwing

        This sounds very promosing:
        [New] Multi-site Auth.net Support
This new custom url will allow you to specify which Silent Post URL to redirect the Auth.net silent post to. Which means, one Authorize.net account can now be used by multiple DAP-powered and even non-DAP web sites, thanks to our awesome "hack" :-)

BUT can a ONE LOGIN account/member be shared across multiple WP Domains, so they don't need to login each time? I have 30 domains to manage, so you can imagine my dillemma. But since you can install the DB OUTSIDE of a wordpress site, I am sure something is possible.

        Thanks

    Deep,

Can you discuss your timetable for integrating an instant pay affiliate program into SMP or integrating with an existing affiliate program that offers PayPal instant pay?

    Thanks,

    Sean,

Before answering your question, I just wanted to point out to folks here, how critical "Support" and a solid-backing of the developers is, for any membership software you choose.

It appears that the owner of Sitemanpro has been MIA for a while. On one side, I do hope he's ok, and it's nothing serious.

But on the flip side, depending on a one-man show or a too-small-an-operation for your money-making membership site, is like wanting to be a professional skydiver, and getting your parachute assembled by your do-it-yourself buddy next door, just because he's really cheap and saves you a trip to the store :-)

Customer Service and Tech Support is a *HUGE* commitment. That's why almost all of the big gurus, no matter how many millions they make, suck at it big time, because selling the "Next Big Thing" with self-service downloadable videos, and walking away after your launch, is very easy and anyone can do it.

But sticking with the same product month after month, year after year, and dealing with customers and technical issues and hosting issues and 3rd party plugin issues, day after day after day, AND making a great name for yourself at that game? Insanely difficult, needs extraordinary passion and commitment, and only a *handful* of companies even want to get into it, leave alone doing it at a high level, consistently, for a long time. And DAP happens to be at the VERY TOP of those handful few, even if I say so myself.

    Anyway, back to your question....

@seanster, that link hasn't been updated in a while. But from a big-picture perspective, the difference in features and functionality still remains, because if they've added, say, 10 features, then we've probably added like 30 more features. So the gap in features still remains, and DAP keeps widening the gap every few months. See DAP Change Log - Release Cycle - DigitalAccessPass.com

And even to this day, 3 years after we pioneered and invented the concept of "Content Dripping", no one does content-dripping and content protection like DAP can :-)

    >>BUT can a ONE LOGIN account/member be shared across multiple WP Domains, so they don't need to login each time?<<
No, it doesn't work that way. But it does work in a different way...

    * 1 main "Parent" site with DAP installed and all of the content for your multiple domains
    * Multiple "sales page only" sites which all funnel the members to the main parent site.

    To understand this better, see:
DAP As A Global Content + Affiliate Hub — DAP Documentation

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

LOL! Yeah, I do type very fast, as you can see ;-)

Up to 119 words-per-minute the last time I tested myself.

No, really!! See this for proof:

Proof is in the Goof! Your funny. Thats I like it I will see if I can top you I can do like 80 I think now. DId you notice you if you think about going fast, you actually screw up? LOL

At any rate, your link and scenario makes sense, and I would recommend maketers try to set up one site anyway to Push ONE Brand in the long run. It will also make maintenace easier. Just take each blogs look and add a template page to the Parent site.

SO the only reason to buy unlimited license is if I want the BUYER to never see the domain name of the parent site? I could make seperate subdomain login pages that look like the children? But subdomains are like SEPERATE sites from a Cookie/session programmin standpoint correct? Speaking of which is the only API type thing you have is for IPN for shopping carts.. Which rocks byt the way.

I got an idea, going to PM you. I hope I get a refund from Siteman so I can buy this one.

    Thanks
    Sean

Correct. Only if you want to actually install separate installations of DAP on your different sites. So they'll all have their own copy of DAP and content on that same domain, and members login on those domains separately.

One installation of DAP will not work on sub-domains, because sub-domains are actually their own little independent sites.

So either use on DAP installation in the root, and multiple blogs in "sub-folders" (not sub-domains).

Or multiple installations of DAP, one per sub-domain.

    >>Speaking of which is the only API type thing you have is for IPN for shopping carts<<
Don't understand your question. Pls rephrase.

I was very much interested in buying SiteManPro after reading quite good reviews about it. I wanted to ask few pre-sale questions to their customer support via live chat option given on the official website but I am greatly disappointed by wait time. It is very frustrating experience. I could never have the honor of chatting with anyone (I am still on wait list as I am writing this post for more than 1 hour!)
Can you please tell me your experience with their customer service:confused:

Maybe it's just my wild imagination but he suddenly stopped posting right after I called him a REAL programmer. Maybe he didn't think that was nice to say out loud. Oh well. Can't think of anything else. His website is still up and running from the outside. No telling what's going on inside and behind all those closed doors?
