Hello Warriors-
Do any of you have opinions on the best wordpress theme to accomidate the amazon store. I inserted the code for my amazon store into the default theme and part of the right portion is cut off by the widgets..

Many thanks!
~Poppy

    I use flexibility on my niche amazon sites and you just have to see how georgous the site looks. The theme is fully customizable. Google it and find out.

      I like to use a simple theme. The simpler the better. It really does not matter how elaborate you site is, it won't make it convert any better.

    poppy - as you are short of actual answers here, i'll give you my thoughts.

    i would take a look at the available wordpress themes which are loaded in by default. you can install and preview them before activating. if there are any problems i would learn basic CSS and edit the stylesheets to tweak the design a little.

    as for which wordpress theme converts best - there is no answer to this as all businesses are different. that said, there are basic principals in design that apply. for example, ensure that headings are clear, there is not a lot of clutter, important items are above the fold, posts are clearly separated, etc.

    hope this helps a bit

    Honestly speaking, there isn't any theme that does what you precisely want
    out-of-the-box.
    You can pretty much use any simple WP theme but a single or two sidebars and
    will need to modify them yourself or hire someone to do it for you.

    I like using the Azon theme. It's easy to display products and images. Has Buy buttons and plenty of areas to add extra monetization.

    It's $97, but if you are going to build a lot of Amazon sites, it's worth the money in my opinion.

    Here is a site I just started on a couple days ago. I'm still working on it, but you can see what the theme can do

    I use flexsqueeze.... good theme and easily customisable... also I clone my amazon sites so I can from start to finish have an amazon site built in 3 hours...

    dont worry too much about the theme for now, build a site and just hammer it till it makes money then if it starts to make money use that to buy a theme, and then probably you will know exactly how you want it to look like.

    The layout of Amazon.com itself looks like many of WordPress magazine themes. One option is to use Magazine Basic theme. You can get more details here.

    I use Canvas by WooThemes for all my shop sites. But I don't use Amazon aStore but my own plugin. Canvas got some nice features and ability to change layout etc in a simple manner. I put the categories to the left and special offers and optin forms on the right mostly.

    You can actually easily do this with any theme.

    1.Just create a new page template with your aStore code in it. Here is a simple example of one of mine:
    --------
    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: Amazon aStore
    */
    ?>

    <iframe src="http://astore.amazon.com/priuspartsstore-20" width="90%" height="1000" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

    <?php get_footer(); ?>
    ----------
    2. Save your file as something like astore.php
    3. Upload to your theme's folder in Wordpress
    4. Create a new page in your blog
    5. Pick your uploaded file as the template for the new page

    Here's my live example: Toyota Prius Parts Store | Priusfinder.com

    The astores look great, but you should know they are worthless for SEO purposes (Google will never index them). To get organic traffic, use one of the many Amazon plugins that load product info as content and posts in your blog.

      Great advice! It's almost a waste of time to use aStore -- unless you have a community site or another way that already brings traffic to your site. But aStore alone will definitely get you no organic traffic.

      It's better to use a WordPress Amazon plugin and combine it with a magazine or an ecommerce theme.

    My preference for Amazon stores is to use Fresh Store Builder. It's software designed specifically for Amazon stores (ie: not a WordPress plugin or theme).

    I user Shopperpress on my main site and it has built-in ability to create a store directly from Amazon. It is a premium theme but it is worth the investment as it is very well supported and once you know how to use it, you can easily create more very quickly.

    Hope this helps, Leah
