Has anyone tried Social Monkee? Works on Firefox to generate 25 do follow backlinks a day.
#internet marketing product reviews & ratings #monkee #social
  • I have tried to sign up to test it out but it keeps saying I already have an account. I have tried 3 different email addresses. I had never even heard about this site until earlier today. Even though I can't register I would also like to hear what people say about it.

    • I was interested in them as well, given that they're freee and don't look to require a significant time investment. From what I can gather though, SocialMonkee works primarily with backlinks from forum profiles. While they probably won't hurt, in light of Google's latest announcement it's probably going to not give any where near the gains in the future that we've come to expect from such links.
    • Ohhh I see! so better not to sign-up..

      Thanks!

    • I have had the same problem. I sent a couple of emails to support. Also, I just left a message on their blog and noticed that the moderator deleted it.

Sounds great and would love to be able to try it out...

    • Yes, i have the trouble like you. Why can i not register?
  • Has anyone else tried this or has feedback?

    • Hi Janice,

We allow 1 account per IP Address, did you signup with an account in the last couple of days? If so that would explain the error.

The links come from social bookmarking sites that we own and control, not forums. We purchased 100 domains and installed 100 social bookmarking sites on 1 unique ips, all c-class unique, most of them at the moment are even A and B class unique on servers around the world!

We also make all links submitted 'do-follow' backlinks - It is also very fast and Free

BTW - This is BRAND NEW, I just sent 1 email about it last week, so we are still improving it as much as we can, so if you have ANY feedback or suggestions at all, please write them here and I will see what I can do

      Thanks

  • Hi Colin,

Just signed up and gave it a try. Simple and easy to do.
I do believe you may have something here.

I did have one concern after trying it and then I noticed the question
had been asked on your site, but not answered yet.

So I thought I'd ask over here.

If I want to use a url to other pages on my site, it appears that your
    program does not allow dashes/hyphens.

At least it wouldn't accept it in the title.

Will it allow hyphens in the url's?

    cheers,
    Jerry
  • It's very , very simple to use...,also they offer an amazing firefox plugin to bookmark.
For a free account they offer 25 bookmarks/day but not offer details where, and for premium(47$) 100bookmarks/3times day with full report. Also the premium account can be maked without paying money just to reffer 12 persons.
  • Thanks for kind review Danoctav,

Jerry, It is not allowed in titles but is allowed in your URLS. You should not from an SEO side be using - etc. in your keywords that are hyperlinked to your site.

So urls it is fine to have the - but titles it doesnt work with them, no

  • Can we get the list of those social bookmark sites with PR ?
  • PR hasn't been updated in close to a year and many now feel Google discounts or doesn't use PR anymore. some of the sites are established with a lot of backlinks and a good alexa, others are new and are being promoted by my team as we speak...

I bought some established ones and set other ones up months ago etc.

There are after all 100 sites We are also planning on adding more as we go.
    • [1] reply
    • Uh... Google PR was updated in January. I had many of my sites change rank and many here reported the same as well.

  • On the site I saw someone mentioned that they tried to enter the same URL on different days and it said this was not permitted. Just wondering if there is a way for SocialMonkee to keep submitting the same URL (25/day) until it is on all the social sites you have? Or if it would recognize the URL and just submit to the social sites it didn't in previous submissions?

    Hope that question wasn't confusing....
  • Hi Sarah,

No, right now you can't submit the exact same URL more than once. However you can submit different URLs from the same domain. For example you can submit warriorforum.com only once, but you can then submit warriorforum.com/home (once), warriorforum.com/products (once), warriorforum.com/blog (once), etc.

The only way to make sure a URL is submitted to the 100 sites is to upgrade to the Premium level, and submit the URL. Remember that you don't necessarily have to pay the one-time fee to get your account upgraded. Yoy can get a FREE Premium upgrade by referring 12 people to SocialMonkee.

If you already submitted the main URL you want to promote to 25 sites (with a Free account), I'm pretty sure you can find a way to tweak that URL and submit to 100 sites again (with a Premium account): ...com/ ...com/home.php ...com/home.htm etc.

I hope this helps! If not feel free to send me a PM.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • We could allow the same url to be submitted more than once, but then people would submit them every day, so the same url's 300 times in a year.

The search engines will see this as spam and block our sites, then everyone loses. The idea here is to get inbound, do follow links to help your traffic ranking. (Help Make your sites rank for the terms you want)

So once you have the inbound link, if you are premium, you get an RSS feed and a video showing how to let the search engines know about, and index those backlinks.

Getting 2nd, 3rd etc. links from the same domains on the same ips carry very little weight compared to the 1st one. So once you have the link and it is indexed, you dont need to get another one from those sites Hope this helps and thanks for the support...

Any improvement Ideas please let us know, we are keen to make this awesome for everyone!
    • [1] reply
    • Sounds great but the key here does your site get index or not depends also on heaps of other factor right? Even when submitted.

    • Hi Ray, if you installed it, you will see a little Monkee face in the bottom right, click on his head and it will ask you to login and you will be all a go... Please let me know if you still have problems...
  • I just heard about this today, so please allow me to make sure I understand everything.

There are 100 domains, and each page can get one backlink on each domain. So to get value in this you need to have a lot of pages. If you have 3 mini sites with just one page then you would use up the value on the first day, right? (I know a person needs to keep creating pages, but I just used that example to make sure I understand it right.)

To get the real value you need to have the report so that you can ping the RSS reports. If you only have the free 25 daily links the search engines may or may not see them. Right?

Someone above mentioned above that this is something that Google won't like. What are the odds that using this service would have the opposite effect and actually have us get slapped by Google?

    Thanks!

    John
  • Yes, I was interested in this and signed up days ago. Never got the confirming email?

    • Hi John, in point 1, you are correct. If we allowed the same sites multiple times the SERPS will block our sites as spam.... So it is 1 at a time

Your 2nd point, we might make reports open to free members in future (But not RSS though) - having said that, I feel the search engines will eventually find and index as we list new listings on the homepages of sites. Might take a few weeks though, but still a free membership provides lots of value.

Your 3rd point, someone PM'd me about that comment. It is not true at all, or else why not get link farms and spam sites to link to your competitors to get them off the serps?

They might penalize links YOU link to from your money/main site, but will NOT penalize your site for getting inbound links from other sources

Hi Bruce, We can make an account for you, please open a ticket with your email at: Colin Klinkert Help Desk: Reply2Colin.com

So these social bookmarking sites that you own are things like "Colin's social bookmarking site #1" and "Colin's social bookmarking site #2"not a twitter account, correct?
    • [1] reply
    • Hi Almanack,

Yes, all 100 sites are on unique C-Class IP addresses and domains. There are no Twitter accounts, Digg accounts... All sites are the property of Colin.

If you join SocialMonkee make sure you download and read the user guide (PDF). There's a link to it on the dashboard inside the members area.

I've been using it for a couple of days I love the concept and it is super easy to use.

It's certainly worth getting an upgrade I'm at 7 referrals just a few to go, so I've be promoting it by blog post, twitter, etc

Looking forward to seeing some results

  • I just signed up and thinking of upgrading. Curious if anyone who started using this a couple of weeks ago has seen results in traffic or rankings increase?
  • Great! I wanted a bit more info to see if this was legit, come on over to Warrior do a search and bam! I find this thread. Very much considering premium membership as I love the simplicity. My only concern is does this actually help with ranking and/or does it hinder it in any way. It appears you guys have captured the issue of duplicate submissions....but what if a duplicate link comes in from multiple sources, would that work kind of like twitter or digg by counting how many times its been bookmarked?
    Thanks!
    • [1] reply
    • Awesome Lynee, looking forward to seeing what you think once you reach premium. Thanks for the kind words

We launched in beta 15 days ago, so its still very new, I can tell you links I have submitted have got backlinks from many of the sites. My programmer did some testing with his domain too and Yahoo shows the backlinks to his sites

JeromyS - IF someone else bookmarks it will add another count, like with Digg. It can't hinder your ranking, it can only help

  • I've not read the posts in this thread I'm afraid, but just popping by to say I think this thing is really good. Plugin is very easy to use, and if Social Monkee does what it says it does, then it really is a fantastic service!

One thing though - When using the plugin, it'd be cool if it could do a mini spin of the description 3 times? Maybe same with keywords?

    Thanks!
  • As both my myself and site are fairly new to this business and since my site only has about 40 pages, with an upgraded membership I'll have submitted all my pages in about two weeks.

Could I then submit url's to article directories that I have articles posted on?

    Is there a benefit?

Still trying to figure out the benefit to upgrading??

    cheers,
    • [1] reply
    • Jerry,

Yes there is great benefit in getting your articles to rank well, as people click the sig link and this results in more traffic. You can bookmark your article sites, Youtube videos etc. Would love to have you as a premium member.
  • Hey Colin,

Normally I wouldn't come over to a thread and post about another thread, but since there both yours............

On your Social Bookmarking thread I see that you've not been over there to answer any questions for a couple of months, is that program/service still alive?

    cheers,

love the system... thinking of upgrading today

  • Hey Colin, I currently have 10 referrals, what I would like to know is when I upgrade, will I be able to resubmit sites that I submitted with the free account?

In other words, will I have the ability to add the additional 75 backlinks I missed out on with the free membership? If not, that sure would be a great feature.

    Calvin
  • I have just signed up to Social Monkee and bought the upgrade
I want to sign up to viral bookmark but have experienced an issue with payment (have sent PM to Colin )
I have a 75+ sites in a niche to promote...so this should help...
  • I think its not good to use that kinda sites to make back links, but I know few people used that, they hadn't any problem with it.
  • This site uses only websites owned by Colin. Most all of them being PR0. They have the worst hosting imaginable as whenever I try to submit my sites using my Premium accounts, the site usually times out and goes down for a few minutes or more... sometimes I don't even get a report for submissions I KNOW happened.

I don't think Colin & Julien should even OFFER the premium membership until they sort out their hosting issues, add some decent bookmarking sites, and treat this like a real business.

    My Rating: 4/10

I gave it a 4 because hey, you are getting backlinks (when the site actually works), they just aren't worth much. Definitely not worth the money to upgrade at this point.
    • [2] replies
    • Thanks for the PM, glad to have you as a member of ViralBookmarking. We are working hard on both sites
    • Thanks for the feedback, it is stuff we are working on. Let me reply though:

      1) The hosting is on iweb, it is a $400 a month power server with 8 cores, 12 gig ram and 20TB a month badnwith. In other words it is a TOP of the line dedicated server, and this is the ONLY site currently running on it! Database issues you experience happen in peek usa times as there can only be so many connections to a database as one time, so with over 13,000 members in 30 days of launch on a plugin that is database intensive it is not always possible to prevent the odd time outs in busy periods.

      2) some of the sites have PR, but what does that help at all anyway? Imagine a PR 6 bookmarking site, it makes a new page anyway when you sbumit, so your page is STILL pr0 right? A backlink is a backlink, as long as you get them indexed.

& As a premium member you get the reports AND RSS feeds so you can get them indexed. I know bookmarking services that charge $10 to get you 100 social bookmarks, each time. On SocialMonkee you can submit 3 a day to 100! So that is a $30 value, every single day for a 1 time payment of only $47, so in 4 submissions it is covered. (Or you can even get it by referring members free)

      3) regarding treating it like a real business A) - We have worked very hard on this and continue to do so! Much more than we SHOULD be. You think a 'real' business as you coin, can survive on and run on the odd $47 one time payment?

Sorry if the above reply seemed a bit harsh or aggressive, but I strongly feel you fail to see the value that you get for a $47 purchase (Or promo email to your list) and how much it would cost to set something like this up.

If you want a refund, please open a ticket and I will gladly return your $47 and downgrade your account. Thank you for giving it a try though
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I have signed up as a free member, and am considering paying to sign up as a premium member. My only doubt is this: it's a resource which can only be finite. Even with an authority site I have which has I think 120 pages, once I've submitted each of those 120 pages, I can never use Social Monkee for that site again, unless I write a new page. Now, 100 links X 120 pages = 12,000 inbound links which is very good value for $47.00 ... plus I can use it on other sites, right?

But my basic point is correct, is it not? There will come a time with every site where you cannot use Social Monkee on it any more?

Also, the 3x a day - can that all be at the same time, or would we have to remember to come back three times?

Thanks in advance for replying to this, Colin.

EDITED TO ADD: I've used it twice now, and each time I've logged in, written the text/description etc, and then hit submit - and each time I had to re-log in . Now I probably had it open a bit long before I used it - but the timeout seems very draconian on it. Now that I know this I'll work around it - this is just feedback.
    • [1] reply
    • Hi, thanks for the comment and questions. Yes, each unique url can only be submitted once, but don't only think about submitting the pages on your site. You can use this to backlink boost your other backlinks. In other words, if you have an ezinearticle or another blog post or any other page or site that has a link back to your site, you can run that one through the system to get it some authority and make that backlink more valueble

And for the 3 times a day, they can all be at once if you like. A planned feature in the works is 'drip feeding' which will allow you to 'schedule' that the posts go out and get made over a few days.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • This service looks like it would be really helpful. However, I don't think that bugs are worked out yet.
I registered for the service but received no email confirmation. I then opened a support ticket. When I tried to check in on the status, I was unable to get into the support area. Probably because I never got the confirmation email confirmed.
Hopefully Colin will work this out so that no one else runs into this.
  • I have yet to use the system because I was having some difficulties logging in. I couldn't even open a support ticket. Don't know what the real problem was. • I've signed up on to that site. But I did not continue. I don't know if it is effective.
  • Currently I'm looking for a possibility to get social boomarks for my different domains and inner pages on different dofollow social bookmarking sites. This is the reason why I heard and read about Social Monkee. After reading all posts in this thread I jumped in and upgraded directly to Premium Account for the one-time fee of $47. I don't like monthly payments so much.

After reading through the User-Guide in the Members Area and installing the Firefox Plugin I start to submit my first URL - a main page of a new money site round about 3 hours ago. Everything was really easy and I got the chance to input 3 different KWs with 3 different descriptions which have to be a minimum of 160 characters. Thumbs up for this and the longer description I have to input - it's more work ok... But I think it's worth it.

Some minutes ago I checked everything in Scrapebox because I directly got a report with 82 backlinks and a rss-feed for my first url submission. My results were that most of the domains are PR0 - some PR1 and 2 were PR2. This is OK but I would like to see some aged domains with decent PR in the future if possible.

Then I checked if my backlinks are already indexed. I didn't expect anything but I saw that 1 backlink is already indexed in Google and 48!!!!! are already indexed in Yahoo. The best of it I did really nothing extra like pinging, rss submission or whatever.

So, all in all I would recommend Social Monkee. It's still in Beta and New but it has real potentail. For $47 one-time in the premium account it's a steal.

Some adjustments should be done to improve the overall features for this service but I will continue using it.

    Thumps up!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • Thanks for the great feedback, each new page made would be a PR 0 anyway in all sites on the internet, plus not sure how much the search engines put on PR anymore.... BUT - yes it is in the plan to add more sites and with PR. We also promote our domains and over time will continue to drive links to them, meaning age and authority.

Great to hear you are getting them indexed so fast, a little bit of backlink building to your backlinks would ensure even better results.
  • I am a premium member after referring 12 members. I have submitted around 8 sites so far and did some basic rss + ping of the feed generated. so far in 10 day of submission -- my 4 sites have gained; and 4 remained there. 1st site jumped from 23 in google.com to 11th; 2nd site from 10th to 3rd; 3rd site from 54 to 21 , and 4th site 34 to 12

i havent done any other link building on them. looks positive would recommend .

  • I've learned an important lesson this morning, and I hope it can help others as well.

Don't write your descriptions directly into the SocialMonkee page. Write it on Notepad, and then copy & paste it.

The SocialMonkee server keeps crashing this morning. I have had it crash twice now. The first time I lost all of my descriptions, and I had to write them over again. The second time I copied them. I'm running again right now, but I didn't have to write the text again.

I hope the server problem gets sorted out.

  • I have been using Social Monkee for a couple of weeks. On one site, SM was all I did for off-page seo other than posting to a 2.0 blog.

I submitted my site (25 links as a free member) then each day a different page for 3 days. Then I submitted the 2.0 blog url.

My main url and the 2.0 blog are on first page, first 2 items and have been there for 4 days.

This is for a long-tail term in a high-dollar arena.

    I am happy with it.

  • Hi John,

Thanks for your interest! With ViralBookmarking you bookmark other people's projects (using sites like Digg, Reddit, Mister Wong, etc. including some of our own social bookmarking sites), while with SocialMonkee all you have to do is to submit the pages you want to build links to.

Only 25 social bookmarking sites are part of both systems. There are about 30 in the ViralBookmarking system (including sites like Digg, Reddit, Mister Wong, etc.) and 100 in the SocialMonkee system.

    Hi Jerry,

Are you trying to register a new account? We only allow one account per IP address. Have you upgraded your account already? Do you have access to it? If not, please submit a ticket to our help desk or send me a PM.

    Hi Macky,

Was the comment published, and then deleted or just not published? Anyhow, for general and technical support it's always better to submit a ticket here.

As previously mentioned, we only allow one account per IP address. If the system doesn't accept you, it means that you (or somebody else) already signed up from that IP address. We can check that for you of course, but make sure you send us some details, including the email address you're trying to sign up with.

    Hi Norman,

I replied to the ticket you submitted to our help desk. Sorry for the delay but none of our staff work on Sunday. If you need any further assistance, feel free to send me a PM!
  • Guys, just an update, for free members we have now added the option to submit any project you want to our full set of sites for a payment of $2.99 (Limited price) so you can get RSS feeds for that project and full report as well!
  • I have been using Social Monkee for about three weeks now. Had only one issue with accessing the database. Overall, it's been a good experience.

This tool gives you the ability to quickly and easily create 25 solid, long-term backlinks for free. It's a no-brainer. Plus, you can do as I did, use the free version until you have enough referrals to get access to the premium level.

All too often, I see marketers obsessing over PageRank; if you are guilty of this, you are wasting your time and energy. Study Google a little more and get a better understanding of what is going on with regards to linking, ranking and determination.

The pages on which your links appear may be low PR but they are links that appear on unassociated, aged domains. By default, the pages will continue to grow in popularity.

At a cost of free, marketers should be all over this.

    Just my 2 cents...
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • Thanks for the awesome post, I agree 100%. We also are continuing to add more sites as we get time (Takes a bit to get unqiue c class ips, find good, aged domains, and setup and promote them)

We want to add another 10 sites in the coming weeks and then continue to grow from there.

  • I'm kind of disappointed that I haven't seen any credit for these backlinks.
    • [1] reply
    • I hope that nobody takes this comment as meaning that it doesn't work. I'm just saying that after several weeks I haven't noticed my backlinks showing up yet.
  • Im a premium member and been using this but my question is this once the report is done what is the best way to get the backlinks index, yes you give the RSS report, from that what is the best way from there onwards??
    • [2] replies
    • Well, at the moment it gets more backlinks, so I would say yes. They are different though, ViralBookmarking links might have more authority. But at the end of the day, the goal is to get your backlinks indexed, whatever the source.

Hi Norman, we started a service without a commission affiliate program, and with no launch, just a few list builder emails to shared lists, not to our personal sites and we didn't get any Jv partners to promote.

We launched on a fully dedicated 8 core, top of the line server, costing a big chunk each month because we knew the value was there in SocialMonkee, we knew that people would love it.

BUT - we didn't know it would be this crazy. Over 25,000 people have signed up and it is an Alexa 3k website now in only 2 months. The database in 1 table alone for reports has over 280,000 entries and the whole database which is 100% plain text entries is over 500MB in size.

We have now taken the site offline for 6-12 hours to recode the database and the script to deal with the load and massive growth. I can understand you are annoyed, but please relax, you have paid for a LIFETIME account and we will be back tomorrow running well again. Please give us a chance and don't get fed up, things happen that are out of our control. Thanks for the support.
    • Welcome and thanks for the support - Well, once you get the RSS you want to ping it on the ping sites we give you. Do it 1 time only to each ping site. Next, if you want, you can drive links to those pages, (the 100 urls you get) or you can drive a few links to your RSS feed, so the search engines find it and find the links. This will lead to indexing

      Hope this suggestion Helps
  • Thank Colin I will give it a go cus to be honest i think thats is the hardest part getting those rss feeds index'd

So I dont really need to submit those rss feeds to other rss directories do i??

    Or is just pinging ok??
    • [1] reply
    • Pinging is a good start and often enough, but to make sure you could always submit it to directories etc.

We have JUST NOW added a brand new spinner, which allows you to spin words too. This means you can make your backlinks 100% unique, allowing much better indexing potential with the search engines
      • [1] reply
  • Hi Richard,

Let the Monkee have a crack at answering the questions

    1) Yes, 1 time per project is fine. You don't want to overping. If you have a directory of lots of RSS Agregators, then you can send it to those as well.

    2) Yes - you can use it with BackLink Energizer, driving links to your RSS feeds and your backlink urls can only help

    3) Or Whatever - Google won't sandbox you, but the search engines also wont find and index all the links at one time.

    4) Yes we have a site called viralbookmarking, the WSO link is in my sig file below... We are still in prelaunch with that site and want to make it much more awesome and powerful before full launch. WSO prices are very cheap

    5) No, I don't think it matters, you want to use other link building methods too, but I submit new blog posts etc. to SocialMonkee

    6) We have domain names in all different niches, but these are not niche sites, these are socialbookmarking sites that link to 'interesting' content on the net, and is user generated. So In this instance, you can choose the category and that provides relevance. Part of a balanced link building strategy would include getting relevant backlinks from related sites and blogs etc.

    Hope that helps
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • Colin -

Thanks for answering all of my questions so quickly.

      A few follow-up questions:

      1) So there's not only no reason to worry about a pattern of getting exactly 25 BLs/per day, there's no real need for a "drip" feature either, right?

      2) I looked at your Viral BookMarking WSO and it looks good .. and like it's "ready to go". But were you implying, in your reply (above), that it's not quite ready for Prime Time and that we should wait (how long, roughly)?

      3) I sent you a PM, which you more or less answered (above) ... but would you mind taking a look at my PM and letting me know if, given my (sub-) niche you think that there'd be some (more or less) relevant blog categories/BLs for it?

      Thanks again,
      Richard
  • Richard,

I replied to you before, but now it is not showing

    1) Drip feed is helpful when it is more than 25 links, like 100. We have a drip feed for premium members, can drip over 2 weeks!

    2) The WSO price will not be this low when we do launch, the programmer will get to it asap, but could be a couple of months to be honest. However there are members and staff bookmarking each day

    3) As these are social bookmarks, just pick the posting category that is close to your niche and you will be all good! Thanks

    • Colin -

      Thanks for your replies!

Just to clarify an earlier question I asked about whether this type of thing would be good for brand new blogs (with no BLs & possibly not even indexed yet by Google): I read somewhere ... possibly in a WSO (maybe by Daniel Tan (sp?)) .. that it's best not to try to "force" the indexing of your site, but rather to let Google "discover" it "naturally".

I'm not exactly sure what that means, or whether I'm paraphrasing what he said all that well .. but it was something to that effect.

Do you agree with what (I think) he said, and would "pinging" SMs BLs .. and/or using something like Backlink Booster (which you thought should work OK with SM) .. be "forcing" things (like the indexing of my site) .. or am I totally off-base with my concern ... or confusion ?

      Thanks again,
      Richard
  • I just tried the website a few days ago..still waiting whether its work it or not...
  • I submitted a good length blog post regarding article marketing and logged in to check progress. There were around 20 odd done. But all but two of the links went to 404 errors. Not impressed quite honestly. The post contained no links and was of decent quality.
  • Hi Erik,

Thats very strange, something must be up. I will email my programmer this right now, and monday morning he will get it and look straight into it.
  • Hi Erik,

The programmer thinks that maybe you had a strange character in the title that our bookmarking sites didn't like? Can you please pm me the title name and your email address and we will look into it for you

  • Colin,

I registered on Social Monkee, and it was taking forever saying "this may take 60 seconds." I exited the webpage, then went back to try again. It said I already had an account, and that a confirmation email has been sent. I didn't receive one. So, I tried to request a new password, and I didn't receive that email. Then, I tried to sign in and it stated that either my username or password was wrong. So, now I'm stuck. Can you help me please? Thanks.
  • Colin, sent you a PM as requested. What is the outcome?

  • I tried but no success
  • COLIN-

Do you think that you could help me out? I never received any emails from Social Monkee and it says that I have an account already. However, it won't let me sign in. I sent you a message on Youtube with the email I signed up with. Thanks.

  • CAn anyone help me ive submit over 3 days of submission when done i got the report for rss feeds, when submitted to 4 ping sites as recommended but still not getting no backlinks, is anyone getting same result or am i doing something wrong here??
    • [1] reply
  • Colin or Julien,

I'm a premium member and submit to the 100 sites three times daily.
After I get my report and do the pinging, should I delete the report, re-submit that url again under a different topic in hopes of getting listed on other sites and thereby more links (I spin my posting)?

    cheers
    • [1] reply
    • Replied with your login info

      Hi Jerry,

it won't allow you to, even if you delete your reports. The reason for this is so that it doesn't look spammy. You should never run out of sites to submit thought because you can submit all your backlinks too, to ensure they get indexed, and get/pass on extra authority to your main site

      Thanks

  • I am interested in this tool but I have two questions.

    1) For premium memeber, we can submit 3 URLs everyday and each is submited to 100 social mark sites. So that's 300 backlinks in total.

Can I do this: I submit 6 URLs, but each is only submited to 50 social mark sites? Or I submit 12 URLs but each is only submited to 25 social mark sites? Because I mainly want to use this tool to get my articles and web2.0 properties indexed, and I have lots of them.

    2) How fast is this tool? For example, how many minutes does it take to finish submiting to 100 social mark sites for ONE url?

    Thanks

  • One more question: Do you have character limitation on the URLs that we submit? For example: no more than 120 characters. Because I have many articles on article directories and the URLs are mostly very long.
    • [1] reply
    • No, not on urls, you can submit a long one if you like
  • Hi Team,

We have now set it up that you can plug sites into the system by getting your own Social Bookmarking site
If you need hosting as well and signup to hostgator through our link, we will build you a site free, this is because I can pay the programmers with the ref comms I should get.

To read more visit: SocialMonkee - Your Instant Backlink Builder! - After login it will forward you to the sales/information page

Love to know your thoughts on this addition
  • Hi Colin,

The new Social Bookmarking Site program sounds interesting.

I use Host Gator and I have a few domain names not being used.

A couple of these are good keyword names with a good deal of exact searches.
Would you suggest using one of these for your program, or using a throw away one?

I understand that part of it depends if were going to promote that site ourselves, but the articles posted on it will most likely not be relevant to the name.

Will there be certain categories on the sites or can we specify a category, such as Health, Electronics etc. etc.

    cheers,
  • Hi Jerry,

Good qs. Yes I would say choose depending on if you plan on driving some backlinks to it.

Part 2 is no, you can't choose at this stage, at this stage it is all categories, but they will be given random names and your site will be totally unique to the others. I would use a domain name that doesn't hold a lot of value to you. Can be a great way to get a lot of pages indexed, get some good ad impressions and also backlink from many pages to your sites, but i don't think it is target content so therefore not worth using EMD's.

Having said that, it doesn't need to be a domain just for this, you could have a blog or splash page on the root of the domain, and get us to build the social site in a folder (/top-ratings/ for example - you can choose that, and the name of the folder when submitting the short form.
  • Hi Colin,

    Thanks for your last answer.

    Another question about SocialMonkee.

Just trying to make sure I totally understand how I should be pinging. I did watch your video a couple of times, but still not totally clear.

When I open the 'view report' (under submitted reports) do I copy and paste all 100 urls over to PingFarm (or whatever pinging site)? Or do I just copy the url in the address bar (above the report) for all those 100 sites?

Is that the same thing with the RSS feeds button. Just copy the address url and submit that only?

Thanks for clarifying that for me.

    cheers,
  • Hi Jerry,

no need to submit the 100 one by one, the report is there more for an FYI (for your info). Although I do it with a mass ping tool that I have installed on my blog. The RSS feed is the one you want to take the url of, and submit that. You can also submit the RSS feed to sites like: millionrss - organising the world's rss feeds - one feed at a time
    • [1] reply

    • Colin, thanks for your quick reply to my question. But sorry for sounding a bit daft, but am I to open up each of the 100 sites (1 at a time) then copy and paste their url into a RSS feed site?

Just not completely understanding how to submit those RSS urls.

      cheers,
  • Not sure if it's a bug.

I just submited a site using the plugin in Firefox but then it came up with an error saying the URL has already been submitted. Then i went to Reports and it showed that the site is scheduled to be submitted. I definatly only clicked submit once.

If we are using the free version, do we need to ping the URL's that are shown in the report so the backlinks get indexed? As we don't get an RSS feed in the free version i take it.
  • Hi Jerry,

no we have made an RSS feed for each project, you just copy that RSS feed url and paste it into the ping sites and RSS directories No need to touch the links in the reports

    • EDIT: I found the solution to my problem (#1, below) in your FAQ .. of all places!

Simple: View->ToolBars->Add-on Toolbars (although I didn't have to ReStart) .. and Bingo! The Monkee's head appeared on my toolbar.

      1) I just downloaded and installed the S/M plug-in and restarted Fire Fox (actually, my PC).

When my PC restarted and my F/F browser reopened, the Social Monkee icon was not on the task bar, below, nor anywhere else. I tried reinstalling the S/M F/F plug-in twice, but no luck either time. (I used File->Open and selected the plug-in from the folder where I'd downloaded it, clicked on Install, and then clicked on Restart .. and my PC restarted .. but no Monkee head anywhere.)

I guess I can always use the form on your site, but I would like to have the option of the S/M icon ... so what do you suggest I do to get it to show up?

EDIT: Still would like an answer to this one:

      2) I noticed that special offer, about submitting a "project" (my site's URL?) to 100 social bookmarking sites for $2.99. OK, but *which* social bookmarking sites?

Since this special offer involves 100 sites and the free version of S/M (which I have) involves only 25 sites, I assume they're different sites and/or result in different BLs .. but then again, the upgraded version of S/M involves 100 sites.

      I'm (obviously) confused.

      Thanks,
      Richard

      EDIT: Sent you a PM.

    • Colin,

I'm not sure which new feature I like better or which is more impressive, your EZ to do {Spin 1 | Spin2 | Spin 3} or the Feed?

Which one does your users seem to like the most?

I ask this mostly so when I do my next review on SM, I am quoting the author's take on this vs. using my personal experience. Regardless, since becoming a Premium user of Monkee, I've allowed my clients to piggyback on my SM dashboard, albeit I have to all the heavy lifting.

The FFox add-on is splendid and used to be a huge FFox advocate, but since Chrome is so much faster, I am counting the days/hours/minutes until you roll-out a Chrome Extension <hint hint>

Then again, if I had my druthers, I'd opt to see SM buy some better quality domains v. those with an Alexa north of 2 million which seems to be the norm.

      Strong work Aussie!

  • Hi.
I am planning to upgrade since Social monkee was THE SOFTWARE I was looking for
I don't need to buy proxies etc..

BUT I've seen the sample report and saw that the sites don't even have PR's? If I upgrade will their be sites that have PR's and how many?
  • Hi Colin, quick question, when I'm submitting my rss url for pinging, I just right click on the rss icon, and paste this url in both times, for, site url and site rss url... correct?

    Cheers.
    • [1] reply
    • Hi Frank, it is quite a simple system. After you upgrade, you fill out the form with your submission info, preview it to ensure it is correct and then submit it to 100 sites

You then get the reports and RSS feeds. If you have any specific questions please let me know

Hi, I replied to the PM you sent me with the same question

Well, the important one is to put it there for Blog RSS Feed. You can use your own url/blog for the Blog url field, as that is fine as well. Thanks
  • I went back tonight to try again. I donwloaded the Firefox plug-in but I find the older style submission for easier for me.

Social Monkee is a nice tool. I may sign up for the $47 unlimited service. I still suggest spending an hour or so and expanding the user manaul a bit to walk people through everything in detail.

I find throughout WSO that anyone selling software/plugins needs more detailed documentation in almost all cases. Spend an hour or two more on documentation. Then have a newbie friend read it to see if they understand. If they don't understand - ask them where they got lost.

Technical people assume the avg person understands technical things as well as others.

    Nice job by Colin K.

  • Sounds great.. I tried to install the Firefox plugin tho but it just didn't install right (couldn't ever find that lil monkee at the bottom lol..) so I deleted it and just logged into my account and did my first free submission. We'll see how it goes. I really like the fact that this tool has spintax ability. P.S. Sent in a ticket about the plugin issue coz I'd really like using that if I can get it to install right.

    • Hi - If you are in FireFox 4, please click on 'view' in the top toolbar, then click on 'toolbars' and make sure 'addon bar' is selected. This will give you the bottom bar.

Then if you reinstall it, you will see the monkee head down there
  • Ok great everything installed just fine One more thing...what about the scheduling feature? I read somewhere in the directions to select if you wanted all submitted instant or scheduled, but I see no button or anything for scheduling.

    • For upgraded members, because there are a lot more links, they can choose how many days to drip the links out over. Anywhere from 2 - 14 days Free members links go out over 2 days....

Here is a post but we need to update it as we have many more testimonials since then SocialMonkee Testimonials

  • You also own ViralBookmarking Can you please explain the main differences between this and Socialmonkee? Also, is there plans in the future to have an Affiliate program, pay per lead? Is http://www.viralbookmarking.com similar to socialADR, in that we share each others bookmarks?
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Aaron,

Awesome Profile Pic, that looks sic!

Viralbookmarking (VB) is a bit like socialADR, but from your ip, this means other people bookmark your sites with their real ip, not all from a server ip. Real people bookmarking carries more weight (but also has a bit more manual work) - to be honest, VB is still in beta and we are considering if we want to launch it and spend a lot of time and money on it or not... what are your thoughts, feel it has good potential? (It does require some manual work from users, or buying credits)

SocialMonkee - This is a much more automated solution, you get your link on up to 100 do follow sites and get RSS feeds and reports. But there is no other people bookmarking your bookmarks unlike in VB, if that makes sense

So 2 different products, each with different pros and reasons to use them
  • Hi Colin,

Just upgrade to premium account, and I am a bit confused with the drip feed, say if I have got 20 websites with 20 URL, is that I can set all in once and Social Monkee will automatically bookmark it with the daily limit of 300 submission on all the 20 URLs randomly?

    Thanks
    Ringo
  • Hi Ringo,

No it is the submission of that 1 project, how long it will take. So if you fill out the form and select 10 days, it will then post 10 links a day for 10 days to give you 100 after the 10 days. If you select 4 days it will submit 25 a day for that project

Hope that helps clear up the drip feed.
  • I've used social monkee for a few weeks now. I use many other tools and really like the improvements that have been made like connecting it to TBS.
  • I just joined under the free version about an hour ago and got started right away on bookmarking my first site...

I spent about 20+ minutes on making sure I had done a great job on spinning, spinning both at the paragraph level, sentence level, and word level.

Upon clicking submit I get an error message that reads:

"This URL Has Been Submitted Already.. Please Enter A Different URL"

AND THEN IT COMPLETELY CLEARED ALL MY SPYNTAX THAT I WORKED SO HARD TO CREATE AND RETURNED ME TO A BLANK FORM!!!!!

    ARRRRRGGGGGG!!!

This service has potential, but I would never pay money for a service that doesn't fix such blatant (and highly-frustrating) problems.
  • Just go to the premium one 2 days ago, and all in all submit 8 campaign, but when I go to "Scheduled Reports waiting to be submitted", all 8 are not yet started to submit (the 1st one created in 2/6/2011), is that normal?

    Thanks
    Ringo
    • [1] reply

    • Well, I would say that this is very unnormal. I am also a premium member and wait for over 1 week to get my bookmarks processed. I was told that its just a question of time. ok, it depends if this takes a few days or a few weeks/months...
  • Hi Brad,

We will look into that change, when you put your url in first, it should check if its ok to submit or already been submited, that way you dont have to write it all first if its been submitted, as different urls would need different text right? I passed your comment on to my developers though.

Ringo - Yes we have a bit of a backlog at the moment, but it is something we are working to sort out and by next week we feel it will be back to normal. Please see our Facebook page for updates - Thanks for the support, your submissions will go out, just a bit slower at the moment
  • Hi SEOed - Yeah my programmers told me it would be fine in a few days, but they underestimated the quantity and the speed of submissions. The backlog is 15k and we are working it off, but it is slower than we thought...

We plan to keep growing and move forward fast, so we need to change the coding. It will take him 5 days full time coding to change from cron submits to API. Then it will be less server intensive and faster on the submissions and we should then catch up within 1-2 weeks. So the time frame to return to normal is around 3 weeks

BUT - please note that your submissions are queued and are still going out, so it is slower then the drip feed time but will get posted for sure!
  • Ok, I became a premium member, did a submission about a month ago, pinged the rss feed of the report, and when I check the url backlinks going in to it it says zero. I'm checking the yahoo inlinks from the SEOQuake plugin. At one point, it listed one backlink, that was from SM, but now it says zero. My question is, is SocialMonkee a waste of time if my links are not getting indexed?

Am I doing something wrong? I'm working in a Chrome brower and when I check the rss feed of the report url, it doesn't look right and nothing is clickable, but the rss feed url looks fine in IE and firefox, does any of that make a difference? I'm pretty sure I did it right.
  • thanks for the detailed explanation.

No, only a fraction of backlinks get indexed but a lot do get CRAWLED! That way they still get noticed by Google and Co.

Yeah, Chrome somehow cannot display RSS feeds. I have the same problem but I think you did everything correctly.
    • [1] reply
    • Yes im sure you did everything correctly. Yahoo only lists a fraction of the links and often, if they are too similar it will show even less, but does not mean they don't count.

Take some of the URLs from the report and copy/paste them into google, see if they are indexed. If not, ping them or submit them to RSS feeds again. I get a high index rate and even rank websites for long tail terms with only SocialMonkee runs

We are also working on adding more sites to the network asap, once the programmer sorts the current issue, we already have more sites and are promoting them, so they can be added in near future
  • I purchased the one-time fee 100 bookmarks for one URL which I submitted to drip over 10 days. It finished up one day last week. I have not done anything yet with the RSS Feed. I also have done no other bookmarking and promoting of this new site. I just checked Yahoo Site Explorer and have 2 backlinks that came from the Social Monkee list.

The submission was easy to do and I expect that with time and me pinging the RSS Feed that more of these links will begin to show up.

So far, I like the service.

    • Hi Jackie! Thanks for the kind words! Yes, you should definitely ping the RSS feed to get your backlinks indexed faster. We recommend: Ping-o-Matic, Pingoat and Feed Shark.

      Hi Sandra,

Thank you very much for your feedback!

What advertising offers are you referring to? Are you referring to the banner ads or to the special offers? There are currently no special offers showing on the 1st and 2nd login for Premium Members, and we actually see these offers as added value... but thanks for your suggestions!

      Hi Deb,

Please log into your account and click the 'Reports' tab in the navigation menu: 2011-06-07_1044 - juliennn's library

I hope this helps! If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact our support team at Colin Klinkert Help Desk: Reply2Colin.com

  • After reading all the success stories here, I decided to sign up for an upgraded account. I feel confident that it will work out well.

I did hit some snags in my first try of submitting 3 bookmarks. Here are some suggestions/feedback:

    - Canceled bookmarks should not be counted against the 3 a day quota. Sometimes, we may have made a mistake and want to correct it and them resubmit. If that is not possible, at least allow editing while the bookmark is still in queue.

    - For paid customers, remove the advertising offers when we first sign in. I think most services offer that benefit (no advertising) to folks using the paid versions of their services. Alternatively, make it less obstrusive. I think a banner on the page is tolerable, without requiring extra click throughs each time we log on to skip advertising.

    - allow more levels of nested spinning, just as they are accepted by the Best Spinner. My spintax was looking good in TBS, but once I transferred over to Social Monkee, it came out weird. After removing one level of nesting, it worked.

    Thanks Sir.
  • I'm using the free version. Just submitted, it says a report will be generated when submission is complete. But I don't see a reports tab. Where do I go to view the report?
    Thanks,
    Deb
  • Hey Andy - The one time submits are running ok, so maybe there was a problem with your submission. Can you please reopen that ticket and address it to Julien, so we can check it out for you? Thank you

    • Hi Colin, I did as you asked and here is the reply I received this morning ...
SocialMonkee is running a little slow these days due to a higher number of connections. Our technicians are working in cooperation with our hosting providers to resolve the issue.

This might take 2 to 3 days. We are struggling to keep up but we're working on top of it. Every submission WILL be posted. It is just a matter of waiting. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

      Thanks for your patience.

..... the same reply I received on 1st June. Clearly all is not well!

  • Andy, I asked you to please attention it to Julien, as my support staff are not the fastest to get with the program. I will ask him to come in here and PM you two now. My programmer says all 1 time submits were done fine... We will check your case and refund, plus give you a credit to do it again on the house for the troubles
  • Everything was working sweet about 2 months ago, so I hope you guys get the submission problems sorted soon.
I'm upgraded and have had one job sitting in the queue now for over 3 weeks that hasn't even started (2 day job) and I just finished submitting a new one today.
The dates in the Scheduled dates field are months off, both forward and backwards. lol

    • Hi Ryan,

There is still a queue of submissions to be processed, but it was reduced by 40% over the last few days, which is good progress. However if you submitted a URL 3 weeks ago... the links should have been created by now. Can you please check again? If the submission still show in the Pending section, send me a PM with the details and I will get a technician to look into this.

      Hi Vlad,

Sorry if you felt that our responses were impersonal but they were all honest responses. Please send me a PM with your SocialMonkee username and I will get a technician to check and delete any duplicate entries you might have on your account. Thanks for your patience!

Julien will Reply here and also PM you for personal support, so sorry you feel the support is not good, we try to pride ourselves on that!

    • Hi Vlad, Thanks and yes, we should have mailed members sooner, we will be sending out an update later today...

Hi James, as a free member we give you limited reports, so you can see 12 out of the 25. As a premium you will get all 100 plus RSS feeds

Hi VilRoot - They are Social Bookmarking links and look like what they are They are dofollow though unlike most bookmarking sites so help your ranking a fair bit once you get the links indexed
