I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere but I'm wondering if anyone is using Google Checkout on their sites? I've been w/ PayPal and use the PayPal debit card which is great since I have instant access to my revenues. (Or maybe not so great, since I think I spend it as fast as I make it!)

However, as my sales are really starting to take off, I'm feeling irritated by PayPal's big cut of my profits. I saw that w/ Google Checkout you can get back ten times your monthly Ad Words budget applied to your processing fees, so in essence, I would likely get most if not all of my processing fees covered. I figured I would save around $400 a month this way.

But I know I HATE signing up for things and creating a password, etc....plus I had never even heard of Google Checkout until recently and as a buyer it may cause me turn back if I had to "sign up".

Do you any of you give the customer multiple buying options....how has this worked out? Like you can purchase through Google Checkout or Yahoo?

I'm really tempted to try it but I don't want to scare customers away AND you don't get paid nearly as fast w/ Google.

Would love to hear some opinions. I'm such a newbie at all this but I don't want to throw good money away if there's a better way.

      Oh, I forgot to update, did run it through Google Checkout, did not see significant difference in CTR, may be my CTR was already high, turned out to be waste of time,

      You May want to Taste yourself, I have already mentioned my CTR was high

    If you think PayPal's cut is big, just try some of the others!

    I did a real thorough check on pretty well everything that was available some time back and the results were illuminating to say the least. Bottom of the pile, by a long way, came 2Checkout and Clickbank - expensive to use and with an automatic refund reflex that'll spin your head around.

    Next up was Google Checkout. Yes, it's cheaper, but there are some real limitations surrounding its use, primarily in the area of automation - there isn't any!

    Further up the ladder was PayPal, which over the years I've had very few problems with. Treat them like a business partner - i.e. keep them informed, treat the service with respect and don't expect special favors - and you'll have very few issues with them. Dump $50K of gambling related biz on them in a day and they'll kick up. And they're relatively cheap compared with...

    Merchant accounts. Yes, the money goes directly into your account, yes the limits are higher, but man, they're hard work. PayPal is brilliant for fraud prevention - merchant accounts you'll get stuffed most weeks if you do any level of business. Some merchant accounts severely limit the types of product you can sell - yes, even worse than PayPal in some cases. And merchant accounts are out of the reach of most looking to start out in online business as it's always considered riskier by the banks than standard bricks-and-mortar stuff.

    So, what do I use? PayPal, Google Checkout, Clickbank... pretty well the lot actually, but what do I ACTUALLY use everyday for 90%+ of my online business - PayPal, and I'm a very happy user at that.

    Thanks for that info Spudzz....i believe Google checkout is not INSTANT...for downloads right? I am selling an ebook that needs to instantly get to the customer, without me doing anything, and i dont think Google checkout offers INSTANT, right?

    I will use paypal, but wanted to offer Google checkout also...but if not instant, i think customers would not be so happy...
