Matt Carter's 'Rapid Profit Formula'

By all accounts that I've seen this is likely to be a good course about selling physical products. At $77 it's not cheap but as usual I don't think we are getting the full story.

Judging by the plethora of affiliates offering large bonuses its seems obvious that we'll be hit with various upsells AFTER we've paid the initial $77.

I HATE being conned by a sales letter which after handing over my money then tells me that to get the full story I need to keep paying...and paying!

Maybe in this instance I'm totally wrong and am willing to eat copious amounts of humble pie if that is so...but I don't think humble pie will be on the menu here.

Can anyone enlighten me firstly if the course is to be recommended and secondly what, if any upsells are later added and thirdly if they are worth getting.

Thanks for any help which any can give with this.

Don't make the mistake of lumping this course in with some of the stuff that has been launched lately.

Not only is the course thorough, but it's also quality content. If I hadn't just promoted something, I would definitely be letting my subscribers know about this course.

Nope, not a bunch of upsells like some programs. Don't get me wrong, there is an upsell, but it's not tied to the course. In other words you don't need the upsell to get the FULL benefit of the course. I bought it, but haven't had time to even look at it yet.

      Hi!

are you able to give us an idea what the upsell is and how much it costs?

      Thank you,

I bought it - will write back with opinion after I start viewing the content.

This one has an honest "feel" to it, and Matt is real-deal Aussie marketer.

The upsell is basically a bundle of 2 of Mark's previous products...an article spinner and a guide to outsourcing on the cheap (with emphasis is finding cheap outsourcers in the Philipines). Can't vouch for these, but you can Google the software (entitled Rapid Rewriter) for reviews.

I didn't take these, as I already have The Best Spinner, and currently don't outsource much work (still learning the ropes )

Hope this helps...I have good hopes for this...have had some trusted names promoting it to me (Dan Brock and Hitesh Juneja).

        Best of luck!!

I am really interested in this one because I am entering the physical products market. Actually I have already, got my domain, working on the articles now. And a good thing about RPF is that it is not full of hype, it does not give you promises of making $20k in a day alone on clickbank. A very motivating factor for me with this one is Mark Ling. I don't think he will ever associate himself with a product that's not going to help you and there's a testimonial by Mark saying that this product is indeed helpful. He is even giving some cool bonuses, not the biggest but of course good value bonuses for a $77 product. I hope someone writes a comprehensive review for us.

I requested a review copy (so no experience with the upsell, sorry) and spent most of the weekend going through all the videos.

Matt's emphasis is on developing (single or multiple) product (physical OR digital) review sites with attention to SEO issues and building of backlinks, using WordPress as his CMS.

You actually see Matt working with various (mostly free) tools to determine which keywords to target for your sites...

He shows you how to set up a WP site and provides a free specially designed theme for you to use. He also demonstrates how he creates content for his sites - with plenty of actual examples of live sites to go and look through!

The biggest section of this course is where Matt shows you mutliple linkbuilding techniques (some of which may now be slightly dubious in light of recent changes at Google).

      Problems with the course?

Not many at all... nothing that makes you want to lunge for the refund button that's for sure...

      1. Many of the video screen captures are not properly adjusted so at times you can't see all the action - occasionally there are things being discussed that are just off-screen.

      2. The PDF files are NOT a summary of each video, so expect to make LOTS OF NOTES yourself right fomr the start.

      3. It WILL take a while to get through this stuff - there's lots of it! Over 7 hours of video!

      4. The technical explanations provided on some aspects were a bit thin - with Matt suggesting you can find good videos on stuff like filezilla and cpanel etc at youtube... While I know how to use such things, many would probably like to SEE him using such software... not just "talking" about it.

      5. I'll have to disagree with Matt on dismissing the importance of some aspects of SEO - but I won't hold it against him.

The important message to come out of the course is that things take TIME to happen! Despite the title, don't expect "rapid" results... rather a lot of work with ongoing building of your backlinks to make your site perform better in Google.

Overall I'd say Matt's course is NOT suited to someone who is a total newbie on the scene. Discussion of things like H1 tags etc would leave many quaking in their boots.

So if you've got a solid understanding of the basics of being online... this course should be an extremely useful learning experience for you, especially the link building section.

While I am an "old dog" when it comes to being online... Matt's course DID teach me a few new tricks. I would have no hesitation promoting this product to my list.

      Cheers

Sir: You said that you got a review copy of this program. Does that mean that you get this copy for free with an agreement to come onto this forum and give your comments about it? Thanks for the things you have shared already. Below are a few questions from me.

I think you mean changes made by google how many months ago? I just saw a webinar where he shows us a couple of his sites at the top of google and I checked them and they were still at the top. So what changes at Google are you specifically talking about??? Because what he is doing does not seem to be affecting his sites. Can you please expand on what you said above?

But then again you said there was nothing that should make us lunge for the refund button. So this must not be too much of a negative, right? Should this be an issue for us and how much of an issue?

Were there anymore of these that you can remember? If just these two that is not an issue for someone who knows some basics already.

There was NO agreement like that at all.

I'm sick and tired of buying CRAP products at CB to review... and then have to go through the refund process and wait for days to get my money back - the last one was a $400 product/upsell which really annoyed me waiting to get THAT back!

So that's why i asked Matt for a review copy. My intent is/was to review the product prior to promoting it to the Aussie webmasters and business owners on my list. I'm always keen to see what other Aussies have developed, because I find my list to be much more receptive to material that has been developed locally.

I came here also to see what others were saying about it. But, considering it is a fairly new product with no reviews as such, I pitched in with my evaluation.

The Farmer/Panda update at end Feb 2010. Everyone should probably be rethinking parts of their linking tactics after that one!

Some of the linking ideas Matt suggested I thought may be a bit on the grey side of things - note I said "MAY" - and as such might upset my "moral compass"... so I have to think seriously about them before implementing.

Other more "standard" approaches like article marketing may need a rethink in light of that update - i.e. look at the huge drop off with ezine articles results.

It comes down to how much time YOU decide to allocate to each linking technique, and how effective they could be for you and your content...

As I said... it's just annoying "sometimes". You can still hear what he's saying in those bits, so it's not a refund issue

Maybe - I honestly can't remember. And no - it should NOT be an issue for someone already familiar with filezilla/wordpress etc... I just thought it might have been a nice touch for total newbies to see him "do" these things... rather than send them off to another place to search for and "hopefully" find the right video explanation at Youtube.

Sure - you don't "have" to do these things and reinvent the wheel (and hence bore the pants of everyone who already knows) BUT perhaps including a link to a recommended Youtube video would have helped add even MORE value to the product

Originally Posted by KingArthur View Post

No and no - my point in saying what I did was that it was good that Matt reminds people that building backlinks is an ONGOING process and things take TIME - i.e. no magic pills to overnight raving success - DESPITE his package being called a "rapid profit formula"

Originally Posted by KingArthur View Post

As I said in the original review, the link building section taught me (an old dog) a few new tricks... so it should be a "useful" learning experience for anyone at any level.

Matt Carter is one of the good guys.

He doesn't promote ****ty products, nor does he make crappy products.

I have spoken to him on several occasions about SEO and internet marketing in general and know he is the real deal.

So it's good to see him bring out a course promoting physical products.

I have been on Matt's list for about a year, and always open his emails (how's that for a recommendation warriors?). His free video course was just excellent. I did not buy this one because I have just got Dan Brock's Deadbeat which is based on product/keyword mini sites, similar in flavour to Matt's. I also have to get on top of that "bright shiny object syndrome". I am also not convinced there is a long term future for these "sniper"sites, in favour of authority/bigger sites. I am sure that this is an excellent product, because everything else Matt does has been from a non-hype add-value standpoint.

He did a webinar with Sara Young regarding his program, I have Sara's

Great review Stephen! Very comprehensive I must say.

Hve just bought this program (via paypal) - on the strength of Mark Ling's recommendation (and bonuses) - there's lots of content - a whole heap of videos, couple of pdfs.. lots of note taking.

Not for totally new-newbies (recommend Chris Farrells membership site), but still great for newbie-intermed marketers, if you have some experience and like the idea of selling physical products (think Amazon, CJ) - then go for it.

Hve picked up a no of choice nuggets and still only halfway thru the vids. A lot better than most of the junk being peddled on the net at the mo - this guy is fair dinkum.... [one of the good guys]

Just thought I would add my comments on this.

I have some affiliate sites here in the UK for Amazon UK I have been struggling with and this offer came to my attention, ironically, through a "guru" with questionable ethics. It looked good, so I switched to my macbook and went straight to the URL so the "guru" makes no money from me.....yes I am bitter.

That said though the videos are THOROUGH and I would echo some of the previous posters that it might not be for the complete newbie but IF you are completely new and Matt says something you do not understand just use Google or search on YouTube for a demo/explanation.

I am most keen on the off-page SEO but have a number of videos to go through yet before I get there. This is probably the first product I have bought in a VERY long time I will not refund from Clickbank.

It is also refreshing, and shocking that I got the FULL product without any upsells to "enhance" my purchase. There is one upsell but it is UNrelated to the product.

    Hope that helps.

I'm finding it increasingly hard to find quality products to recommend to my list. Most of the recent Clickbank launches have been absolutely awful products with upsell after upsell exit pop-up after exit pop-up and very very overhyped sales pages.

So I was pleasantly surprised after reviewing Rapid Profit Formula, Finally An Old School Clickbank Product !!

I was up to 3 AM last night watching all the videos and I have to say this is probably one of the best courses I've seen for at least 12 months.
Everything is covered from niche research, affiliate networks, buying a domain name, installing WordPress and SEO.

It's also nice to see a sales page that is not full of hype and actually tells you what the product is before you buy it. It was good to see a JV resource page that tells you what the product is about.

Too often I get e-mails from top marketers asking me to promote their product I go to the JV resource page and all they tell me is how much money I'm going to make, there is no information about what the product is.

I wish other marketers would take a leaf out of Mac Carters book and start releasing quality products.

If you Wanna start making some money online and you Wanna buy a quality product written by somebody who actually really make money online and actually does the stuff he teaches then I can definitely recommend rapid profit formula.

Sorry, but just from going through the PDF's rapidly, I consider this product to bee tooo basic. I don't know if he spends the same amount of time telling you how to buy a domain in the videos, but... Wouldn't recommend it myself for its price tag

But maybe I'm missing something for not having seen the videos

EDIT: Well, for newbies I do have to say he has structured it the right way

      Yes - you are

Matt describes himself as a "visual" person... so there's a lot of video content with good meaty stuff in them. So you WILL need to pay attention and make notes.

I'd prefer to have a detailed PDF to accompany a video - not necessarily a transcript with screenshots or anything like that... but at least a detailed summary of each of the main points mentioned.

If Matt supplied that this would make this an exceptional course.

I have a question for those who have purchased - My weakest area is creating content - in the 2 webinars I've watched, he says he shows how to create content. Is this true? Is the section on content creation decent? I have tried outsourcing and have been extremely disappointed with the results!
    Thanks

      Hi Leslie

Content is always one of the biggest issues - and I personally do NOT outsource it as I want UNIQUE content - which can certainly be obtained by doing it yourself. It's something you should have control of if you want to avoid getting on the wrong side of the big "G".

Matt demonstrates how he uses the customer reviews for his chosen products at Amazon (among other things) to "gather intelligence" about the market he is targeting - to find out what they want, what words they are using etc... and builds his pages from those snippets of information.

The process is a bit "tedious" to do - and probably tedious to watch over someone's shoulder as they do it too lol - so no real time-saving shortcuts here... IMHO, this type of intelligence gathering is probably not something you can successfully outsource.

Then... if you examine the final pages for both the websites shown... you'll see how Matt brings this gaggle of information together.

(In doing this you might note that he probably should've used a spell-checker with his work... but not sure if that is a "tactic" he might use to keep it real???) lol

      Hope that helps.

      Cheers

      Hi Leslie,
I bought a few days ago but when I saw the price I clicked away.
To my surprise Matt offered the whole Course for $1.00 for seven days.

I will pay him the other $76.00 within a few days. -- That should sum it up for what he is supplying.

The PDF Files are supplementing the Videos & should be downloaded before looking at the Video.

He is detailing the outsourcing with his own people & how he explains it is just too much. You can't go wrong buying this product.
& I'm not another Dinkum Aussie!!!

I can NOT find any UPSELLS whatsoever

In this video I explain how to research and write a review about a product you may never have even heard about, but still create decent and credible reviews for your customers."
The above is the description of video 1 in Module 4.
I haven't got that far yet, but this would be the video on content.

A must for any newbie and I even learnt a few new SEO tactics myself.

I have been "dealing" with Matt Carter for quite a while. I first purchase his Rapid Spinner; it works fine; any article spinner is a pain in the b--- but his works as well as any other. I have found Matt to be very responsive; he has even replied to me personally. His blog has a ton of information much of it free. He has a free 12 part marketing course. Based on the contacts I've had with Matt, I trust him; he doesn't give one a lot of junk so I purchased "Rapid Profit Formula" even before the official launch. The upsell isn't really an upsell; it is just an offer for his Rapid Spinner product at a good price and it is not necessay to get "Rapid Profit Formula". I haven't had time to really look at it, but I also got DanBrock's Deadbeat. As you say, they both are promoting selling physical products and for me, I am going to give that method a good try. Of course, in most ways, I am still very much a newbie and have not made any money yet. I am learning a lot, tho so based on what I've learned and I am hoping Matt's course will help, I'd recommend getting it.

        Hi all,

I have recently purchased Dan Brock's Deadbeat Affiliate course as well as Jan Roos' The Physical Affiliate courses and they ended up being almost exactly the same. I could have easily done with out one of them. I have been reading through some of the reviews here for this product and it sounds similar to these other two. Can anyone with experience working with these other two products tell me how similar Rapid Profit Formula is to them? I don't want to shell out $77 bucks for just a handful of tips that might not be in the other two courses. Thanks!

    Hi Mathew

    Thanks for grabbing my course

And yes I am not into these rediculous upsells that so many products have, I find them offensive to say the least.

when you purchase you do get offered a cross sell, which is a package deal of my article spinner and my outsourcing training course, that teaches how I outsource everything to workers in the Philippines, but these things are not a requirement, they just help save time, but you don't need them to do my course, the course itself has everything you need.

    Thanks again

At last, I see a proper opportunity here to contact you directly, Matt Carter! I previously tried to email you but you didn't get back to me contrary to your claims that you always check your emails each morning . . .

Well, for me it's come to a point where I am now "spoilt for choice" regarding which marketer's physical product course to "go for" because I've now got this narrowed down to my idea of an internet marketing "holy trinity":

I've been thinking about three different possibilities here: The first one is you, and your Rapid Profit Formula. . . The second one would be Adam Short and his own recent offering (course) which you recommended. . . And the third one would be Mark Ling and his affilorama offering. . . Anyway. . .here goes:

What appeals to me about all three of you is that you all clearly seem to
share my own personal ethics and principles and values about internet marketing and that you are all giving away some really great, pretty high quality and well-detailed instructional content about how to create decent and profitable looking websites as well as how to be able to successfully market physical products, (with a complete absence of any bull**** or hype), and you all strike me as being truly very honest and ethical marketers who like to over-deliver on value and quality and not just waste anybody's time or take their money for worthless garbage in pursuit of a fast buck like some of the jokers out there who I could put a name to!

Marketers like you three, (to me), are a real breath of fresh air, and I'm so impressed by your free videos (Matt Carter) that I am going to now invest my own personal time and attention into taking an in-depth look at your Rapid Profit Formula course, partly because you impress me with your honesty and your generosity and partly because I am an Amazon associate already but I don't know how to really best monetize this yet and I see you as being the type of step by step teacher I've been looking for to learn about this particular field of internet marketing: Amazon products.

I also follow, (and actually know personally quite well now at first hand) one other internet marketer who is very popular and very highly respected indeed, by the name of Chris Farrell, and I subscribe to his membership as an active and happily paying member - for the simple reason that he is one truly AWESOME Dude who absolutely and flat out REALLY knows his stuff about internet marketing, (but maybe not quite so much about physical products from Amazon, as well as you obviously do, though). . . So I am now going to add your teachings about this area of internet marketing to my own personal knowledge-base, Matt Carter. . . . So, wish me well! . . . This is Gary Wynder from the UK, signing off. . . .

Good Morning all, & Matt I'm glad to see you here.

I want to say a personal "thank you" to Matt & his staff, and also give a heads up to anyone who might need this.
I purchased Rapid Profit Tues late afternoon and started watching videos. I started having trouble viewing a couple, they didn't load. I was tired so I shut the computer down for the night and started fresh yesterday. (Obviously, that was a complete reboot of my computer)
I still couldn't watch several and skipped to the next one that worked and sent a support ticket to Matt's staff. Then a couple more videos wouldn't load and I sent another ticket for support.
I was extremely surprised when I got a reply back in several hours!
It was a simple fix - anyone having this problem, Take Note:
They checked that the video links were working and got back to me with this -
Try another browser - It worked ! - Immediately could load all videos.
I shut down Firefox and logged into my account with Internet Explorer!

Matt, Thanks for your quick response - I am now back on Firefox this AM and the first "skipped" video loaded. I have never had trouble with Firefox before, but I would never have thought of this without Matt's Team and their quick response.

Just so the person above has some input on the subject of similarity - I also have the Jan Roos course - Rapid Profit has filled in some holes in that product, especially in regard to SEO and Rapid Profit is extremely powerful on backlinking, this alone is worth the ticket for admission! I'm glad I bought it.

    Thanks again Matt

Regarding your ability to download with IE rather than Firefox, you must have accessed their server at a low volume time when you used IE. Browsers would have no affect on download time. I tried both browsers last night and again this morning and could not download or view the videos. The problem clearly is an insufficient bandwidth and server capacity to handle the number of customers trying to access the product.

Matt and his team have been very prompt in responding to my support tickets, but the delivery problem creates a lack of customer confidence in the vendor's ability to deliver.

There does seem to be a download glitch, somehow.

I've been having problems on my home computer watching streaming videos over the past week so I tried downloading with my office computer. Using Firefox I was able to download the first few and then, inexplicably, couldn't download any more.

I tried with Chrome and they downloaded easily.

Like Tom22, I would have thought that choice of browser wouldn't matter, but there you go.

          Hi Gmac

I happen to know that Matt has been having some issues with his server....this can happen to anyone on a launch and is just one of those things I'm afraid.

This is no reflection on Matt though who I know to be an ethical stand up guy.

Also, I work as a VA and have been on the front line of a support desk during a launch and I can tell you from experience that things get really busy, and especially with a server being down everyone just floods the support desk like lemmings.

I would advise you to be patient, I'm sure the support team and Matt are doing all they can to resolve these issues and it's just a matter of you being somewhere down the line :-)

I have no regrets buying Rapid Profit Formula. Matt Carter seems to have found a way to "force" Google to rank new websites on 1st page of Google without much backlinking efforts. There are tons of videos by Matt showing step by step on how to achieve this.

However, the keyword research method seems to be a bit weak since almost all internet marketers having been doing the same thing, so it's difficult to find a highly searched keyword phrase and yet having low competition.

If you try to be a bit creative in doing keyword research, you will have a higher chance of finding the "golden" keywords, by looking at newspaper, magazines, infomercials or even Oprah TV programs.

You are totally MIS-representing Matt's product here!

Matt makes no hyped claims of "forcing" Google to rank new websites... particularly "without much backlinking efforts"!

In fact, Matt's message is that LOTS of different backlinks are needed to rank well, and he does provide a good selection of videos to demonstrate this. There certainly IS some effort in what he tells you to do!

Matt's demonstration on how to use the Google keyword tool is actually one of the better ones I have seen... Your comment implies this section of his course was "weak". Incorrect.

Yes, keyword research can be hard - but NOT because "all internet marketers having been doing the same thing"! You make it sound like we've used up all the good words that Google has... something I very much doubt.

Yes, you do have to be a little creative at times to find keywords...

              BUT...

Thomas, this is the 4th time in this thread you've attempted to "creatively" bring up your bonus offer of lists of niche keywords you have supposedly "discovered" ...

Now... considering Matt's product does NOT mention your lists, and this is a "review" thread about his product... I am just flabbergasted at your continued attempts to take over this thread!

A friend of mine purchased this and I would agree it's a solid course. It is mainly aimed at beginners but if you don't know much about wordpress you will also pick up some decent tips including Matt's theme.

The videos are very professional and clear and I like his style. If you are just starting out building websites and finding niches then this course will be perfect as it takes you through step by step.

This is an interesting thread to me.

I bought it just for the free wordpress theme that Matt provides. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it.
I am a total cheapskate and got in for a $1 week trial but will happily pay the remainder in a few days. - Just For The Theme

The wordpress theme has a couple of features that I wanted but the main one is being able to select a different sidebar image and aff link for every post. Just brilliant!

I have also gone through half the course and set up a site using the theme with no problems.

      Now back to backlinking

Mite aswell add my pennys worth. i already knew this program was going to help people i was just figuring out how i could fit this in to my ways. so i paid for it!! well. for a new starter- you will have to do your own research on afew bits likle FTP filezilla. and a few more. the good thing about the internet or youtube its all on there just type what your looking for. as matt says. (not word for word) if you can find the answer to your own question by searching the internet you will do GREAT.(rather than always asking). that has stuck in my head. the theme is amazing.. i will say that again. amazing. i guess the only neg on the program for new pps would be the keyword searching. the only advice i will give is really listen to what matt says about if its a product that has different models rather that 1 product no other models.

at the mo im testing it on my sister she hasnt got the foggest abot IM. see how she gets on. will keep everyone posted whoever whats to know.

bottem line. information is great. advance info is great. looking forward to making more money on this.

Actually you didn't have to buy the course just for the theme... just opt-in to his list and he will give it for free after a few emails...(think after a few weeks)

I was wondering if anyone has purchased this within recent weeks or months? I am considering purchasing it, but one thing that concerns me is the fact that if you look at the bottom where the copyright year is, it says 2010. To me, that tells me something isn't getting updated anymore or that the project is abandoned.

Not so! I got an email out of the blue from Matt Carter the other day, saying:
Just wanted to let you know, due to all the changes in Google over the past 12 months, I've changed the way I build my affiliate sites now, and hence the way I teach it also.

Therefore I have been through the entire Rapid Profit Formula course and updated 80% of the videos in there, to reflect what I believe to be a better and sustainable way to build profitable affiliates sites.

I encourage you to watch the videos again when you have time, as the old style of product name review sites is not as profitable as it used to be, however there is still plenty of opportunity if you follow the new method I outline.
      Excellent customer service. I'm impressed!

      Hope that helps.

I'm impressed. Normally it be an excuse to wheel out a new version, slap a "2.0" next to it and resell it to his old customers.

I did purchase the course recently and some things have been updated for sure. I'm sure he will continue to keep us updated if things change.

I bought the course when it was first released. It 'was' good, but became outdated whith all the changes that have happened over the past 12 months.

I've Just been through the updated course from cover to cover and all I can say is WOW! Matt has updated the course almost completely with bang up to date information.

Hats off to Matt. This is virtually a new course which could easily have been sold as a new course. But Matt gives it out as a free update.

This has truly given a tired course a new lease of life and has once again made Rapid Profit Formula one of the best Affiliate Marketing Courses currently available.

Matt Carter is an incredible marketer. However I feel that his newest update to the course about Google changes deserve quite a discussion. He basically teaches to avoid many of the well known on page SEO tactics. Of course SEO is always changing but bolding and italicizing keywords has always been one of the strategies that worked.

What do you all think? Are you changing your websites based on Matt's new recommendations? If you haven't do you think we will have to soon.

Finally what about the rumor that Google is going to have manual reviewers controlling everything soon?

A -lot- has changed in SEO. Sure, it's always changing somewhat, but over the last year there have been game-changing, profound changes. It's not even a case of whether some things still work. If you aren't on top of where things are now, you risk everything from losing rankings on pages, to whole sites dropping, to losing Adsense accounts, to being de-indexed. Those things were possible before; now they're increasingly commonplace without an understanding of these 'new rules'.

I know Matt, and have worked with him closely in recent months.

I can say without hesitation, he's one of the sharpest and most honorable marketers I know.

I've been through all his offerings, and can again say without hesitation, they're some of the best on the market. His free course is as good or better than most paid courses.

Rapid Profit Formula is one of the best affiliate marketing courses I know of, certainly the best for selling physical products.

We're ULTRA careful about recommending ANYTHING to our customer list or on our forum - courses, software, memberships, etc. In fact, in almost 2 years, we've recommended only half-a-dozen products. Rapid Profit Formula is one of those very few recommendations.
