"Stripped Down Profits" now closed by Clickbank.. wonder why

It's been a while since my last review, but this one put me over the top, so to speak.

I'm not going to talk about the marketing of this product, that's been done. That's why I created a new thread - that and the fact that I spent a couple of hours on it (yes, that is and will continue to be my canned excuse for starting a new thread).

Instead I'll talk about the product itself which apparently builds review sites at the click of a button.

Please be advised:

This is not *really* a sitebuilder. It's 3 or 4 "browser editable" templates.

Comparing this "thing" with a review or any kind of sitebuilder is kind of like comparing oranges to.. well, horse manure.

It has very limited flexibility -- no control of comparison tables, features, design.

You basically get a one page "site" where you can click on various pre-defined areas of the template to input text, link or an image.

It has deeply impaired SEO functionality - while you can edit your meta content, you can't put reviews on unique pages (URLs) - we're talking SEO 101 and just fails horrendously.

It appears you can only add 3 products to your "site".

There's an email subscription box on all the templates - on many of them it was impossible to edit the subscription box text. Not sure how many people are going to sign up for a wart removal newsletter if they aspired to build an mp3 player review site or whatever. But hey, maybe that's just me.

I found no way to even replace the title of the page with a graphical logo.

It has EXTREMELY limited functionality in general, and it's definitely not a scalable solution, and it's downright traffic "un-friendly".

And obviously I don't need to mention that there is no possibility of user generated content, ratings, comments or any other basic stuff that one would associate with a review site.

If you want to have ANY REAL control of the "sites" this thing creates you'd have to download the page and edit it in a different editor like Dreamweaver which kind of defeats the whole purpose of this product in the first place.

IT'S AN EDITABLE ONE PAGE TEMPLATE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. And even for that it does a poor job. I can't take the time out to list all the things it can't do - and since it fails with even the most basic things, there's no point really.

This is my short review of the advanced version of the program. Please don't get me started on the "done for you" version.

Is this a short-cut? Well, sure - if you're happy with a site that's harder to market.

This product wasn't created to help anyone - it was created because someone wanted a 1-click profit angle in their marketing (sorry I couldn't help myself after all) that they know will sell well. In order to remain true their angle, they just avoid telling you the whole truth. Whether this is due to borderline sociopathic tendencies or just a general lack of intelligence on behalf of the product creator(s) remains unknown.

And what about the training?

It's not specific to building review sites (I did not get the upsells) from what I saw, it hardly even seems related to the "software" except for the software introduction video which I found no reason to comment on except advise you to keep a bucket nearby in case of sudden and uncontrollable dry heaves when you hear the guy refer to these sites as "money-getting" sites.

Furthermore, it's general, and not in depth and it doesn't teach you the real fundamentals of the relationship between content and traffic or anything about the real aspects of succeeding with a content based affiliate website.

Why?

Probably because that is in fact harder to do, and that's not sexy at all.

Just like this product isn't.

All in all:

0 / 5

Had someone sold this for what it really is, I might have stretched it to 1-1.5 / 5 stars for the "advanced sitebuilder", but it's still a solid 0 / 5 for the "done for you" thing.

BTW, if there is sufficient interest, I'll produce more similar reviews more often - to cast your vote, join my new Facebook page in sig below. If no one joins, that's fine I'll probably just stop posting reviews altogether since it's quite time consuming. I know at least a handful of people who would be very happy with that.

Have a good day.

PS - if I made any FACTUAL mistakes about the features, I'll be happy to retract and re-word, but I think it's quite accurate - although I didn't double-check everything. May spend a few more hours on it or maybe someone will correct me.

I seriously doubt you'll get any "factual" contradictions.

Facts are completely irrelevent to this one :-)

I agree - in a perfect world facts would be irrelevant for something like this - but when I see people saying it's a good product if you just disregard the marketing of it, then the facts do become relevant.

You've summed up what's wrong with so many of these launches beautifully - truly! Too many of these products - and product creators - have no thought of producing a product to benefit people, meet a need, etc., but only in generating maximum sales.

Thanks Michael. I have a good idea what someone should really do about this type of launch. Would love to do it myself, but sadly it would require quite a bit of time to set up and manage.

And yes, I'd like to keep posting reviews when I can find time. You know it's funny I've been building some very nicely sized facebook groups in niches I know little about lately, and now I start one in a niche that I do know something about and nothing happens. Quite funny -- but hey, if just a few people want to read what I have to say, it's a start right

I have a good idea too. As "The Rock" used to say in the WWE:

"They can take that sumbitch, turn it sideways and ram it up their ruuuuudey-poo candy a**es!" [then raises the "People's Eyebrow"]

Me and a pile of others have mauled this massively deceptive sales page and all its associated lies and garbage from pillar to post. Take a look at the other threads.

        You gave it 0 out of 5. I give it -5 out of 5 - ie 0/10

Let this be a lesson to those IM vampires behind this terrible exercise in deceit.

Damn, I was just about to ramp up marketing of this product! I thought it was an interesting marketing ploy and wanted to e-pimp Haley and her product. Hey, if I can make a couple of bucks after refunds selling this to some newbie "tricks" then I'm ahead of the game. After removing all the smokescreens from this product, the general consensus was it was not that bad of a product. It was how it was marketed that people here didn't like.

No. It is a bad product that didn't even work. Nothing worked. The templates put in their own clickbank accounts, the opt-in did nothing, the videos showed the most deceptive crap I have ever seen.

I second that, what happened to honesty and integrity! Sellers should stop producing and selling these products and affiliates should stop promoting them too! IM isn't just about making money not matter how, no matter what!

Ya thanks for the post, I got emails about that crap a few days ago.....I just laughed my **s off and close threw all the exit pops. Notice how everyday these sites are looking more and more the same. Ya they show clickbank cash but they never show you if its from affiliate sales or theirs sales and they never show how many refunds which is probably 90% or more since its easy to get refunds with clickbank.......LMAO!

What bothers me the most is not that there are people who actually create this type of offer and product. Snake oil is a fact of life, nothing we can do about it.

The worst part from my point of view is that many people who are supposed to show a good example as "prominent" industry figures turn around and promote this garbage - they could be promoting quality products sold for what they are, but they'd rather squeeze every last cent out of their lists with drivel like this.

As someone pointed out in a pm to me, there is immense pressure on people in this industry to get mailings out -- but who cares really, is that really a valid excuse? Ultimately you have a choice who you want to play with.

Not only that, but my impression of some of these people a few years back who are promoting is that they would have NEVER even considered promoting products with sales pages like this back then. :-(

    Hello,

My name is Sandra, and I personally work with Haley.

First of all, I wanted to thank you for investing in Stripped Down Profits, and
    giving it a try.
I am so sorry to hear that you are not having the success you wanted with the
program so far. We are determined to really see you succeed online, and we’re not
going to give up on that goal.
    So here’s what I did…

I just told Haley about your situation, and she gave me permission to give you
access to over $500 worth of products that you’d find very useful. These products
can help make you your first $1,000 online in no time.
You can access them here: http://strippeddownprofits.com/haleysspecialgift.html

It’s our way of saying ‘Thanks for giving it a shot, and sticking in there’.

All I ask is that you give the program another shot. You’ve got 60 days to try
it out risk free, and see some great results with it… and I’m very confident you
    will.
In fact, we have had an overwhelming amount of feedback that the program is an
excellent tool and one of the best ones that’s being sold in the marketplace
right now. If you look around, you’ll see other people selling software similar
to ours for $497-$997… but here, it’s at a greatly discounted price of $47.
So hopefully you’ll give it another shot, and this helps you out.

However if you still wish to request a refund within 60 days, please reopen this
    ticket with clickbank.
    To Your Success,
    Sandra Stewart

Well, certainly seems they are well prepared for the horde of people who will likely be asking for refunds. And no shortage on the misrepresentation of the truth here either.. in regards to the pricing mentioned here, "she" must obviously have been looking at the marketplace on a different planet. You could even have this thing developed from scratch for less than that!

And as said earlier, if you go directly to Clickbank you won't have any problems getting a refund.

Thanks for posting, I had a good laugh about this.

What a BLOODY COP OUT! That tactic is designed purely to overwhelm genuine refunders with even more bullsh*t GARBAGE to troll through. ie to deflect, extend and delay a refund - hoping that you will just go away. It also insinuates that the refunder simply doesn't understand the product. POPPYCOCK!

A refund request is a refund request. Like everything else with this so-called product the way this was handled is a sham.

Go directly to CB and demand your refund. They allowed this trash on their payment platform in the first place. If their scrutinizers had done their job PROPERLY in the FIRST PLACE then this site would never have been allowed.

      Gary Simpson

PS: My current blogpost addresses this sham and the comments are piling up.

I think these guys are winking at each other. This seems like a new tactic for affiliates to generate the "I'm on your side" vibe which appeals to those a little more discerning (OK, so and so says it's solid content and I know that most sales letters are BS) while letting the crazy sales letters get even worse.
