Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I have a few sites I want to beat in rankings on Google and I see that they have backlinks from reference.com how does one get a backlink from there? I tried to find out but I have no clue. Is it by chance or can I get a backlink from them on purpose? Thanks!

    Contact them yourself.

But you gotta provide them with value. In this case, it's most probably buying an advertising banner space.

A lot of people like to advertise in big websites like WebMD.com, eHow.com, Dictionary.com, Reference.com, etc.

That site would probably have to be advertised on to get a link, however squidoo.com is also a page rank 7 site just the same as the reference.com. So you could easily sign up for a free account at squidoo and make some lenses on there to get a backlink.

If you don't know how, just pm me and i'll help you.

      Hi Roz3377,

There are quite a few factors to consider when trying to rank your website.

If you're interested. Send me a pm and I'll send you a report I've produced to get you up and running.

Depending on your niche, there are other ways to get traffic to your site. If it's banklinks you want, there is a way to structure them in a proper way in order for them to give you any TRUE value.

Note: buying ads on sites is good for traffic, but won't give you any link juice. Especially from sites like Reference.com.

Getting links on such portals could seem to be a complex task, unless you are ready to spend money for packs to acquire but there are so many other methods and resources to try out in order to improve web ranks of your website and increasing its links counts as well. Directories, blogs, forums and even paid listings could help you always.

Searching the net, you may also find a lot of blogs related to your niche and still having better ranks and traffic shares than your site, and they could sell monthly based advertising packs as well. Purchasing them would be cool in most cases.

Thanks, I just was wondering. I know how to rank in Google. From the 1st of April till today I have gone from not being on the first 20 pages of Google to page 2!!! YA!! I just have noticed that the first few spots have these types of backlinks and I would like to get the same just wasn't sure how. These aren't adds either, if you type in the keyword in Reference.com you see there links there and they are not under the "sponsored" ones either.
