Backlinks - where do you get your backlinks?

I know about outsourceing, xrumer, scrapebox, senukex, rankbuilder, profile links, blogging underground, and on and on.... i know how to get links from all kinds of services...

Heres my question.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR BACKLINKS WHEN YOU FIRST LAUNCH A SITE?

Seriously, i know most people have specific things they do as far as getting links after a site is launched. they have specific outsourcers with certain packages they buy, specific software...

Is anyone here willing to spill the beans and let us know step by step what they do when they first launch a site to get it ranking?

what about product launches. most people build a site and do x y and z for backlinking and move on to other sites. what is the x y and z?

I ask becuase most people teach how to get back links but no one tells you what they do specifically. i know backlinking is a none stop job that gets varied over the long hall, but i also know that people have specific steps that they use over and over after launching a site that works very well for them.

maybe you have a seo service that you use? you build a website and send them the url and the keywords and they do 100% of the backlinks?

thanks in advance. this is realy going to help a lot of people. Jim

I can't see how it makes that much of a difference because seo is more of a marathon than a sprint. The tactics at the start should ultimately be the same as they are months or years down the line, ie - just keep building links and try to make money.

I suspect that there may be many different answers or many different variations on a basic answer and that how people respond will depend on the kind of site being launched and the intentions of the owner. Since I tend to launch smallish, blog-based sites that I plan to grow over time, my secret launch sauce will probably seem excruciatingly bland, but here it is:

*The first step: I make sure that the on-page and on-site SEO is correct
*Also part of the first step: for a new domain I place backlinks to the core internal pages on an old domain I own, then I do the following:
*Submit RSS feeds to RSS aggregators
*Do an initial article blast using Unique Article Wizard
*If appropriate for the site, I will publish press release/s
*I would recommend publishing guest posts on related sites (something I will be doing in the future)
*Submit content to social bookmarking and news sites
*Build out a network of free blog pages using blogger, wordpress.com and other free publishing platforms such as Squidoo and Hubpages (though perhaps more trouble then its worth)

This is the core of what I do. I'm not going to go into the variations such as mashing feeds, building links to links and all the other "tricky" things we can do. I get a lot of mileage out of basic "meat and potatos" strategies and persistence. I am fairly laid back about my site building and when I do launch a new site it is more methodical than frenzied and aggressive.

After doing the above, I continue with content development and link building.

For new sites, I would say start with social bookmarks and submitting content to ezinearticles and other article directories for backlinks

i know about seo and in know about backlinks. i know a lot of people build a website that is seo perfect for all intents and purposes, then they know they need to build back links. i assume most people that have been doing this for a long time dont waste much time handing this aspect off to outsourcers or have a few differnt sotware programs or other methods they use.

to get my last sites ranked very high, i bought 200 profile links from a specific outsourcer then hired 3 different outsources to do specific link building.

Bottom line is i know a lot about link building, im more interested in what steps or services are used by the bigboys that have been doing this for a long time that dont have the time or patients to spend on backlinks.

there is usually a first step. see were im at in the serps. then a second step.

no one gives the steps that work for them, they just pass on the techinues.

I know how to drive, im just tired of looking at maps and taking unknown roads. there is a thousand roads that all lead to the same place. keeping on the roads and maps comparison, if im looking for the best route to drive i usually ask the truck drivers to find out the easiest route, it just really sucks playing pin the tail on the donkey when it comes to finding the easiest route.

i know that the interent marketers here on this forum that have done this for any lenght of time do not just launch a site seo perfect then get ready to do some backlinking, put a bunch of backlinking strategies and software programs into a hat and draw something then spend several hours and days implementing these strategies? or maybe you do??

It would be my guess that you have specific trusted outsourcers with specific and proven packages or maybe an seo company that you use or online services or software and all this is used or implemented in a specific order? or maybe not.

I spent thousands of dollars on useless articles until i finally found the worlds best article writer and copywriter. i got very lucky but not before i spend loads of money.
please forgive me for trying not to repeat this when relating to backlinks.

If you have a proven step by step backlinking strategy it sure would be greatful. but perhaps i asking too much?????

I wish you the best in finding the answers you are seeking. However, it does sound to me as if you already have the answer you are searching for. I've given you the steps I take when launching a new site, though I am not one of the big boys. If I were, I would outsource or build a team to do essentially what I've described in the post above but on a more massive scale.

What I personally do to build rank and maintain page position is to throw lots of easy to build low quality back links at the site and build a lesser number of higher quality links from sites with more authority. As you are aware, steady link building over time plus increasing traffic numbers tends to lead to higher page rank and authority.

You may want to consider posing your question to a marketer whom you admire and believe to be one of the big boys. You never know, you might just get the answer you are seeking.

      All the best,
      Evan

Evan, i appreciate your help. and i should have thanked you already. i just wasnt sure i was clear on what i was asking, and was hoping more people would add to the comments. I have a very sound seo understanding. fact i just launched 3 sites with very little content, just highly seo optimized and out of those 3 websites im ranking #8 #10 and #11 for a brand new website less than 48 hours old. I was hoping to get someone to give specific help with backlinks and you were the only one that responded.

i dont know how to do this...
is the the first backlinking step that you take? *Submit RSS feeds to RSS aggregators
i have heard good stuff about uaw but have not tried them.

like i said, i know all the good link building strategies to get my site to #1 but was just curious about that first initial process. then after that first initial cloud of dust settles and you still need to climb in rankings, other methods are used.

i guess i will take your advise and get uaw and try that. thanks jim

I understand what you are asking, you looking for a backlinking plan for your site in order to knock it up the SERPS from where your on page SEO has taken it.

SO here is what I did for my site and I am on page 2 for a very very hard to rank for keyword.

Web 2.0 (Blogger, Wordpress.com, Squidoo, Hubspot) Create a page on each of those sites, make sure they are good content or they will get trashed. Link back to your money page. Put the links in a notepad file.

Social Bookmarking = Stumbleupon, Digg, maybe another if you wish. Put the links to your bookmarking profile in notepad.

Go to an RSS site and submit each one of those links
Then find a place to make and RSS feed and add all those links and build a theme with those links.
Go BACK to the RSS sites and submit your newly created feed.

That's the beginning of backlink building, explained in the easiest way I can think of. If your site is already #8 on Page 1 you shouldn't need all that many backlinks to get into the top 3.

      Hope that helps.

UAW can be time consuming, but I find it really useful.

It is a shame that no one else has bothered to comment because you have a good question. Since I am the only one responding, I'll add that the first step I personally take is the submisson of rss feeds to 20 or 30 aggregators. If the domain is not yet indexed, I set up back links on some other domain, ping the pages, wait for the new domain to appear, and then submit rss feeds. I have never heard of a specific best first step to take. I happen to start by submitting rss feeds and then make submissons of site content to social bookmarking and social news sites. I will even bookmark rss feeds and then submit all of the rss feeds of the social site urls as well. For me, it all begins with rss feeds.

This is a decent way to create backlinks as the first step. After that we can continue with Web 2.0 links, Profile backlinks and Dofollow Blog Comments.

      Thanks

????????? i dont understand your question matt? your link in your signature says $99
thats the service im refering to. extremely awesome service by the way. however i have about 70 sites that i would like to get ranking. mainly halloween costume sites. i built a bunch but never did much backlinking. you offered a special were you have one url and pick 5 keywords and you write teh article and blast it. guarnateed success. i have enjoyed the #1 rankings for the last 2 months with my one site. but i cannot afford $7000 to promote all my sites.

just trying to find a cheaper way.

Still trying to figure out why you asked where you are chargeing $99 for backlinks when its in your signature. :-)

Sounds like you are looking for a link building strategy. I do not know how you could do 70 sites all at once without outsourcing. Personally I like to use Build My Rank. I have had really good results here. High quality backlinks that get your site ranked.

    Hope this helped!

I agree and thank EC davis.

Just start to submit your articles with an article submitter-
Then mass submit the URLs to a Ping site like Pingler
Build some free 2.0 sites like Hubpages or Squidoo
On site SEO is important as well.

hope this has helped just "go hard in the paint" the first 48 hours

when you first launch a site you want to be strategies and careful where you get your backlinks from. We suggest some age to the site before you even start building back links. Give it 30 days or if you are going after a product launch just crush it 2 weeks out and by the time Google picks it up you will have collect that cash!

You have to have FUN getting backlinks and you'll get more and it will show your individuality better over time. You may not notice but algorithms notice every little detail and they all count one way or the other. Have fun blogging with Mike Liebner's Grand Opening http://www.ez-1.net/blogging
