Best free Wordpress template

Recently, I have decided to change over from Blogger to Wordpress. What is the best free wordpress template for affliate marketing? Also, is it pretty easy to migrate from blogger to Wordpress?

I found two Wordpress themes (they're paid themes) that I stick to exclusively at this point.

They are Thesis (highly flexible, customizable and great support and community) and Optimize Press (designed specifically for Internet Marketing).

Hands down, I'd have to say Mystique. I tested around 30 so called "free premium" themes (i.e. themes that are supposed to offer premium features for free) and the best by far was Mystique. It does take a bit of a learning curve to use it because there is a ton of customization you can do with it, but nothing else free even came close to offering a professional look and feel and the tremendous flexibility that Mystique offers.

+1 Mystique is the one I use and its amazing. Now i've used it I would happily pay $100 for it, but yes it is free so take a look.

Download a couple of free ones and just enable them one by one see which looks best

I don't recommend free wordpress themes. You can get a good quality one for $19 dollars. Most free ones look like they where put together by 9 yrolds

I'd say Matt Carters affiliate theme is quite nice.

It's very customizable like a premium theme is but it's free.

    Cheers,
    Dave

I always choose my free themes at WordPress.org. My favorite is an upgrade of the default 2010 theme. It is called 2010 Weaver. It has a bunch of different looks you can choose from and it is really easy to customize.

WordPress › 2010 Weaver « Free WordPress Themes

The wordpress forum has some pretty good support for this theme.

I just set up a client on the theme and I have been using personally to test it out.

You can see my clients new site at Rightly Rich

Simply customize it to your liking.

I have a few free WordPress templates that are customized just
for my own use. These are usually extremely clean templates and
have light colors such as blue, light green, etc.

  • For me, it was well worth the money to pay for a premium theme. Gazette Edition quadrupled my sales almost immediately, and it was the only change I made. I'll never go back to free themes for my business-related blogs.

I still believe that Gazette Edition is the best theme design/layout, but I found this just the other day. It's a free clone of the Gazette theme, supposedly.

I've been playing with Arras and a CJ plugin. Can build a nice looking store in a couple hours. Lots of stuff to play with on Arras, I'm surprised its free. Got 350 products indexed in less than a week. Don't know if its the plugin or the theme but Im a happy camper.

Caveat: businesses shouldn't incur expenses they don't need. There are solid free themes out there that are excellent.

Case in point, Weaver (the improved 2010 theme) offers many, if not more, features found in paid themes. I've found it to be easier to tweak than Headway and certainly easier than Thesis. As far as SEO goes, I haven't found any measurable difference between the three.

I use a mixture of free and paid themes, so I'm not attempting to be argumentative. I just don't think we should guilt people into paying for things when there are alternatives.

Fast, good and cheap. Pick two that make sense for the specific issue at hand and be confident in your decision. A cheap (or free) theme might make perfect sense for one site and be disastrous for another.

    Hello.

Well, you have to export your files, content, comments, tags etc. from blogspot to wordpress.

Then, you can choose free wordpress themes and modify them, put a background, change color theme etc.
I recommend you this website: Layered Photoshop, Vectors, Icons and Add-ons From $1 - GraphicRiver
You'll find cheap wordpress themes, rating from 1$ to 5$.

    Good luck!
