Traffic Travis V4 Short Review

Been playing with Traffic Travis v4 for about 2 hours now. I am extremely pleased with this upgrade. I have been using TT v3 Pro for a couple of years now. In fact I was using the product before I even discovered the WF, when I was looking to analyze some of my own personal sites for SEO.

TTv4 is a big improvement over v3 Pro. Just a couple of the things that I have found to be very valuable.

You can brand the reports. This is actually something that I requested at least a year ago. Just about any report that you export, you can add your company logo and name to the report. This was something I was looking for when offering some basic SEO services to clients. A quick way to analyze their current site, as well as their competitors for all the keywords you choose for your project.

Proxy support. Looks like you can only use 1 proxy at a time, but I know in the past after running several queries, you may get your IP temporarily blocked by Google. (I have not tested, but it is available).

Domain lookup. You can do a search for the TLD for your entire project of keywords to see if any exact match domain names are available for com, org and net. If available, you can select it, pick a registrar (about 6 to choose from and go directly to a checkout page for that registrar).

Link Finder. For you keyword project, you can query a list of pages, ordered by rank including page rank, follow/no follow status, alexa rank et al. It tells you whether it is a blog, site or forum. From there, it is hotlinked to the page if you want to go directly to the page and enter a comment or create a profile on a forum.

Sitemap.xml import. Quickly get a list of all your pages on your site, the number of backlinks, page rank etc..., just by importing your sitemap.xml file.

Adwords Analysis. Using your project keywords, you can create a project that will analyze other sites based on rank for your keywords and it will display the number of adwords links, type of adword block (ie. 250 X 250 block) and the CPC for that term. It will store the data historically each time you run it so you can see what sites are running ads long term to see what terms and ad types are working for your competition.

I also have been using Market Samurai for the past 6+ months and this is comparable for sure. I like the reporting, especially if you are doing work for customers.

Thankfully, the upgrade price is discounted for TT v3 Pro users. I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase, and have been waiting for this for some time.

There is no free trial for TTv4 like there was for TT v3 Pro, but this product is a Clickbank product, so comes with the standard 60 day money back guarantee.

Will follow-up with additional information as I add my projects.

I notice there's a problem in the SEO section. When I want to analyze a long URL for its anchor text, this program read the URL as two different websites, instead of one. I reported the bug to them. Hope it will be settled soon.

I've been playing with TT4 for around 4 hours now (been a user of TT3 Pro for around 2 years).

First impressions are pretty good. The new interface is slick and the new filtering options work pretty well.

The main function I use TT for is for checking the rankings of my sites and backlink and competition analysis. These functions are quicker and more flexible in the new version.

Given that it has just been released, I have reported a number of minor bugs and suggestions to improve some of the screens. I've also had it crash on me once.

Most of the bugs I've found so far are relatively minor and I'm sure they'll be fixed pretty quickly.

I was interested to see what they've sone to the keyword research module as the keyword research function in TT3 was pretty limited and something I never used.

In TT4, it's certainly a lot better than TT3, but still nowhere near as good as my favourite keyword tools (SECockpit and Niche Finder).

I'm currently writing up a full review, which I hope to finish tomorrow.

AUKev, you mentioned that TT3 Pro users get a discount on TT4. That's not what I understand to be the case. I contacted TT support and they said if you have bought TT3 Pro within the last month you get a free upgrade to TT4, but there was no mention of any discount for longtime TT3 Pro users.

UMS, I received an email from TrafficTravis with a special link for existing customers of TT3 Pro to upgrade for $37. On that page, I had to enter the email address that I used to purchase my original version before getting to the checkout page.

        Yes i did.
I put in adwords info and tried it,and still nothing.I am only using the first option,50.
i then took my adwords info out,and tried again, still nothing.

Maybe someone has an idea, but when i use the free version of TT,it works.

Now, i also have been trying 2 other tools. Both of them want my adwords info.
Both of these tools will not work either.
Could google have blocked my IP address for some reason?
But,if they did,why can i access the google adwords tool?

As mentioned not a free upgrade, but there is link for current TT3 Pro users to upgrade to TT4 for $37

No trial for TT4 (As far as i know)

I'm still undecided on TT4, it's not a revolutionary new tool compared to TT3, or other tools but then it's just been released.

It is very slow, slower than MS, although after the last update MS seems to be back on track.
I have timed the keyword module, takes almost 4 mins to return 100 results. (I have a fast internet connection and a powerful laptop running TT4)

The keyword search results are only "Broad Match" which really does not mean much, 25000 monthly "BM" compared to 1500 monthly "EM" is a big difference. (Support said they are looking into option for "Phrase match" and "Exact match" results)

There is no way to save your search results (I may be missing something?)

I only tried it for a few hours, i need to spend more time with it.
But my initial thoughts are that Mark and co could have done better, considering that TT3 has been around for a while, and there have been a slew of new tools released recently they had the opportunity and time to make TT into a groundbreaking new keyword tool...

I really hope that "looking into an option for Phrase and Exact match" doesn't mean that it will happen 6 months from now. I was very disappointed when I realized I was getting broad match results. I use exact match and have no interest in looking at broad match so the keyword research feature is useless to me until they change that.

You can save the search results though by clicking on the floppy disc icon. It will save as .csv file.

Agreed, who uses "Broad Match" to do keyword research? Why they did not include options for PM and EM is beyond me.

Thanks but i did not mean saving as .csv, i was taking about coming back to your results when TT4 is restarted, Market Samurai saves searches this way.

    I just downloaded v4.

I was surprised to see I can use 1 proxy!!

I don't see how that is helpful. I have about 900 keywords or so I want to track.

How are the rest of you getting around getting blocked?

The major reason I got TT is that I can schedule my rankings but if there is an issue with blocking and I'm getting a bunch of 0's not even knowing about it, it really defeats the purpose.

I've been hugely disappointed with TT3 recently because while it use to be great to keep an eye on a bunch of different keyword rankings it's gotten so slow that it's not worth using these days. Most of the time it just times out.

Was thinking about grabbing 4 at the discounted price but after reading a few of these reviews on the speed I think I might save my money. I do like the idea of branded reports and stuff though... Keep those reviews coming!

Definitely worth the money. It is very similar to Market Samurai in many ways, but half of the price.

Come on... Market Samurai has much more than twice the tools available, and an immensely more powerful keyword tool in comparison - and that tool is free for anyone too. So again, no real comparison.

I am still struggling to run Travis 4 and it is 'not responding' with a variety of bugs. Only managed to run it once but not fully. TT software testing leaves a lot to be desired and when it finally works I can evaluate it better. However, given its broad keywords only, and single keyword search, I think a refund is likely. I originally thought I had a new tool to make use of, and its Dashboard overview and PPC functions are the only useful things for me. Samurai has the rest fully covered (plus lots more) and sometime in future we'll get the Samurai AdWords tools added to cover.

Samurai also running very fast for me at long last. Been a pig recently as we know but looks like they are over it. Fingers crossed real hard. MS is worth a lot more money to anyone serious about internet marketing.

Broad match only? Cmon affilorama, broad match is near to useless. Phrase & exact or i won't consider it at all.

        Hi...

I just wanted to point also, that Google has made significant changes to it's back end programming, and now they have made it much more difficult for developers to access all their search and competition data.

Not only that, but they have implemented a policy of continuing to make changes to their algorithm on a regular and on-going basis.

This has impacted on the quality and quantity of data that is coming out of most keywords tools, to the point where many of them are now not providing accurate data, are slow in returning data, or in some cases, are now no longer working at all.

All this has meant that programmers of all keyword tools now have to constantly monitor for these changes, and when Google makes them.... they then will then need to modify their keyword tools in order for them to continue to function.

This is just Affilorama's not-so-subtle way of reducing competition for themselves.
