Hey Warriors- a quick heads up on Traffic Testers (traffictesters.com)....

Being ever the optimist, or maybe too soon after that first cup of java, I popped for a platinum membership at Traffic Testers. They offer three levels of monthly membership: Bronze ($19.95), Gold ($29.95) and Platinum ($39.95).

Here is what I see so far:

On the outside they refer to themselves as the Consumer Reports of the traffic industry, but I don't recall CR promoting products that have been rated poorly.

They have a "Specials" page available to Gold and Platinum members, with an "exclusive" offer for free leads, but the company giving them also delivered zero results on a test purchase of traffic. There is no date given for the test, and so no way to tell how recent it is. Many more of the test results are not dated.

As a part of the specials page, there are about 60 promotions listed from various traffic sellers. Most of them don't have the company names listed. You must click on the anchor text to see the website, and then go back and try and look them up if you want a clue as to their performance. I soon found that at least a portion of those vendors currently advertising on the "Specials" page have not even been listed in the test results section. So I have paid an extra $10 to access ads from sources that are still unknown and potentially a waste of time and money.

Traffic Testers mentioned that they would do follow up testing, but many times I saw that promised follow up tests were not available.

In a "sample" report, they give a glowing review of one lead company. Within that report there are two follow up tests, but when I look up the same company in the current test results that I PAID for, the most recent test was done in 2008, and the folllow up test date colums are blank.

Now, if I click on that company link, does TT get a commision or finder fee? I am not sure. If they have an affiliate disclosure anywhere, I have not found it yet.

There are no test results listed with a date after Janurary 2011.

If I arrange the tests by date, by the time I get to the 71th listing, the test data is from December of 2009. Meaning, out of the database of 550 results, 479 of them are from 2009 or earlier. Seems like prehistoric times in terms of the internet...

They claim to offer results ranked according to:

Name of company
Opt in rate
Sales
Cost
Hits
Unique visits
Return on investment

There are a series of radio buttons on the dashboard listing these options, but I can not tell any difference in the results page, regardless of which radio button I select. Arranging by name or date is the only option I have been able to use so far. So much for clicking in on those high ROI lists.

They also link to a few WSO's which are getting good reviews. That's a pretty small silver lining around a big dark cloud...

The Platimum membership includes a share of coop advertising, giving 100,000 impressions from solo ads, banner impressions, text link impressions, guaranteed visitors and email marketing.

Proceeding with caution...

I only found one reference to them here at the Warrior Forum:

Anyone else have experience with Traffic Testers?

Once inside, I could not find what they promised on the sales page to be functional.

    NOT FOUND:

Cheat sheet showing yellow highlighted best performing list sources
Ability to arrange list dealers by ROI
Paid section does not show 'follow up report' shown in sales section
Radio buttons don't function as promised
1 'share' of co-op advertising supposedly included- couldn't find on site
No response from support (waited 3 weeks)

    "100% Satisfaction Gauranteed"??? whoa!

Requested refund. Still no response. After 10 days, Paypal refunded.

    Buyer Beware.

Sounds like a dead site that's still open for taking money It's a shame as the concept is sound.

The problem with some of these "traffic testing sites" is that they focus on mlm/network marketing lead type traffic. Alternatively, they have a motive to get you to join their preferred (affiliate-merchant) so they can get money through the back door.
