Traffic Travis 4 Vs Niche Finder

Hey guys,

I was just wondering which one is best. I have been using traffic travis 3 for a while and though it was pretty useful. That being said, i know that Brad Callen usually creates really good software so for those that have played with both, which one is best and why?

Regards

I hate to say it, but I'd wait a while for the dust to settle a bit on TT4.

Yes, they are having daily updates to fix stuff, but there's some basic stuff going wrong in there that really shouldn't be in a released product.

I'm also working with some stuff from Brad Gosse that he released on here recently (in another area) but at least HE had the sense to say it was in beta. TT4 should have been given another round of quality control before release - especially since the old version was so good!

As it goes I tried out Brad Callen's Niche Finder yesterday and it ok but to be honest, I can find A LOT more keywords using the free Google Keyword tool and my own methods

However if you want something that does all the grunt work and saves you hours sivving through hundreds of keywords at a time then it maybe worth checking out

I've got TT4 and Niche Finder.

I picked up TT4 on launch day through matt Carters link I think because his bonuses were INCREDIBLE - if anyones still in the market, you might want to look Matt up.

I used the software a few times, then just shut it down, put a note in my calendar to try it again in a month when all the bugs etc would be worked out probably. There is no doubt in my mind, after being a TT3 user in the past that Mark will get all the kinks worked out, and I'm glad to have gotten in at the lower end of the price spectrum.

I use Niche Finder when I need to throw up a quick and simple site. It doesn't pull a ton of keywords, but it does usually pull some GOOD ones...so, when I'm not in the mood to sift through hundreds or thousands of keywords...Niche Finder is a good option.

Market Samurai has a ton of features, and I know everyone loves it, but for me - it just DOES TOO MUCH...many of the things that it reports on as far as competition levels etc simply aren't needed, and make the software too slow.

Who cares how many in title results there are?
Who cares if your competition is listed in DMOZ or yahoo? That's so 2000

I do think it's a nice piece of software, and I used to use it almost exclusively for pulling lists of keywords, and it's rank tracker, but I havn't opened it up in quite a while now.

I was thinking of getting TT4 but with people reporting all these teething problems and bugs, I decided to wait until things improve. I know I'll be losing the lauch discount and bonuses but then if I won't be getting reliable data for a while - what's the point? If you decide to wait too, you could use the basic Traffic Travis free version in the meantime. I don't know much about Niche Finder but Brad Callen does bring out good products.

Thank you all for your input. To be honest, i am not looking forward to buy these software for their keyword capabilities but mostly for their competition research capabilities.

Traffic travis 3 was doing ok according to my experience was wondering if it was worth it to by either the version 4 of the callen software....

I bought TT4 but yea there are definitely lots of bugs and I'm annoyed that it won't check my rankings any time I want instead of at a preset time.

I like it because of the SEO difficulty section and the rankings trackers.

Were there another piece of software that could do both I would gladly look into it.

    Anyone know one?

Don't say MNF, I have that and it's fubared.

I've had the good opportunity to work with Brad, and use NF extensively. The 'philosophy' behind it is very different from Traffic Travis. With so many keyword research tools, and ever-growing "feature creep", NF was designed intentionally to be a very narrow-focus product: return and evaluate a keyword list of 'digestible' size, along with potential domain name opportunities. It does this very well.

I'm also a long-time TT devotee. I won't comment on the current state of V4, but will say that I'll be using NF for it's simplicity and speed, along with using TT.

I REALLY like NF. It's so simple you think this can't be right. If I feel I need to dig a little deeper, I just run my narrowed down key words in KE elite.

Fortunately, Traffic Travis 4 has that "ease of ranking" feature plus most of the capabilities of Market Samurai. For those on a shoestring who do not yet have Market Samurai & Niche Finder, I think Traffic Travis 4 is a good way to go.

I've compared some of the differences in capabilities between these 3 products here:
      Traffic Travis 4
I must disagree when you say TT4 has most of the capabilities of MS, traffic travis is still in beta as far as i and others are concerned. It has bugs up to wazoo and it's missing core features that even the free version of TT3 had.

Keywords search results only Broad match.
Only returns results for Google USA.
Shows no results for keywords Intitle,InURL etc.
Does not show Dmoz,Yahoo, EDU links.
Even after latest update today, still slow.

And i am not the only one saying this, check out some other TT4 threads...

Hey, thanks for your question and consideration for Niche Finder. I have a WSO for Niche Finder running right now. You can see my signature. I'm extremely confident that if you give NF a try, you'll see that it's the best of its kind at telling you if a keyword is one you can easily rank in Google or not.

Comparing TT or MS to Niche Finder, in my opinion, isn't really comparing apples to apples. Niche Finder is created to do ONE thing and ONE thing only... and that's to find you keywords that you can quickly rank in Google, start getting traffic from, and then make more money with your website by selling more products. (i.e. it's amazing at finding buyer keywords... the BEST keyword you'll uncover)

The other tools provide a ton of data, but don't do well when it comes to saying "yes, this is GOOD buyer keyword you can quickly/easily rank in Google and make money from."

None of the other tools analyze how good those top 10 sites are for each keyword. They only look at the number of websites... not the quality and reason they rank where they do. Without doing that, you won't get anywhere near an accurate measurement on how easy, moderate, or difficult the keyword is to rank and get traffic from.

In my opinion, THIS is where 100% of businesses need to start their online marketing efforts, because without this, you're going into things blindly.

Hope that helps a little. We offer a full money back guarantee. If you don't like it, just pm me and I'll refund you AND Paypal you a couple bucks for wasting your time :-)

    Good luck!

    Brad
P.S. Inurl, intitle, allinanchor etc... are all commands that are very inaccurate in determining competition level, as they only measure the number of sites and "not" the quality of the sites. It doesn't matter to me how many sites are in Google for a keyword, if those in the top 10 are unbeatable. It matters how "good" those top 10 sites are and intitle, inurl, and allinanchor tell you VERY little about that.

I'll weigh in with my 2c worth.

I've been a TT3 user for 2 years and bought TT4 when it was released.

I've also been a user of NF when Brad initially released it, so I am very familar with both pieces of software.

As Brad says, comparing TT to NF is not an apples for apples comparison.

However, let me say that the one function of TT3 that I never used (because it was very primitive) was the keyword research functions.

Even in TT4, I don't think I'll ever be using the keyword research functions.

What initially attracted me to NF is that it is designed to do one thing and designed to do it very well.

I hate having to sit down and watch tutorials and read through manuals to work out how to do basic operations.

NF is super simple, just crank it up, put in your keyword and off you go (the very first time you need to set your Adwords account details, but that's it)

The only other keyword research tool that I think is superior is SECockpit (not yet available to the general public), but for a keyword research tool that runs on your computer, I think NF is very hard to beat.

i've been using niche finder for 2 weeks and so far i love it. i've found more keywords that i can rank for than i can register domains. i'm gonna be selling these easy to rank buyer keywords. as an example - i found a keyword last week that gets 49000 searches a month that's relativley easy to rank for in what I thought was a saturated niche. not only that i found 5 other keywords in this same niche that are easy to rank for and get an avg of 40000 searches per month. i'm happy with my purchase.

I've been using TT4 for a week now and almost ready to pack it in and request a refund, due to all the problems they seem to be having.

Constantly getting error messages, some of the stats they are showing up for my keywords and articles are simply not correct.

Been using SECockpit for two month now and love it....especially when you come across the "Diamond" keywords. Monthly fee can get a bit steep, so may have to look into the niche finder.

Interesting Jerry... I liked SECockpit, but I just found myself going to other tools instinctively - it never really got over the line with me. I think its a good tool, very early in its life, but the price is outrageous compared to others.

I have TT4 Pro as well and echo everything that everyone else says about it being in beta - its beyond a joke. Even the "Feedback" has a field for suggestions with the word suggestion spelt incorrectly - its like some kind of bad joke.

For the past week I've been able to virtually crash TT4 on demand - open it up, click on the project dropdown box and try to select a project - before you know it, you're hung and need to kill it with the task manager.

Today's debacle was infuriating - I downloaded today's build and ran it up. Went in to do some keyword research, my proxy had been "removed" from the settings between builds and the keyword search on Google hung. I left it running to see if it would fix itself and after about fifteen minutes I killed it. Then I couldn't use Google for half an hour on any of my computers without doing a captcha because I was apparently a scraping them - that's when I realised the proxy setting got lost in the upgrade.

The Ranking Report is broken, simply doesn't work. Every upgrade it changes your rank report refresh period to monthly, no matter what you select in the software. Not quite sure why I bother, the actual report doesn't work anyway and there's no manual way to refresh it.

I like Mark Ling, but I won't be buying a product from him on release day ever again.

That pretty much sums up my experience with TT4.

At this stage, I can't even get it to update. I open TT4, it starts the download and then locks up and I have to kill it in the task manager.

I've had to revert to using TT3 for now (not for keyword research though).

        Peter,

I had a similar update issue yesterday. To fix it I just went to the Receipt in email - they had a link, but it's the wrong one. Everything was a but of a mess with this launch! Anyway, the link from memory is:

        Download Traffic Travis

If that doesn't work go to your Clickbank receipt an there's a download link in there.

Just re-install the new download and you should have the new build.

Here's an indication of the changes: the original file was 4.9mb the newest build is 6.5mb - so that's a fair bit of new code!

I will vouch for Niche Finder... All though I have only had it two days and had some hiccups I will say that Brad's customer service is top notch. While I don't know if it is the "best" keyword tool for easy rankings it is definitely different and easy to use. I do like MS but I think it is only because I have been using it for quite some time.

Oh and I also have TT4 as for awhile I was a avid Mark Ling follower, in it's current state it is no use. Today was the first day I could dink around with the keyword research module but the seo analysis still error-ed out.

not showing if domains are available... I even check them at godaddy and some are available in .net but are not displayed in the software as available.
The main reason I bought it was for something to show if the domain is available. otherwise it's the same as adwords keyword tool.

also, it's not showing anything in the bottom screen, it just always say's loading data please wait.

and yes, I have set it up with domainface and adwords
