Opinions on the "Best" Keyword Finding Tool???

Well there seems to be a proliferation of new keyword software on the market and everyone has their favorites...
I'm in the market for one of them and am looking for your experienced thoughts on:

Brad Callen: Niche Finder
Jeremy Wilson: Espionage Software

Thanks for your thoughtful responses.

I usually use Google Adword Keyword Tool for my site and blogs. It determines the selected monthly visits and competition of the keyword.

There is a widely held misunderstanding that the 'competition' column in Google's keyword tool reflects the SEO competition for a keyword - the number of sites that Google claim to have indexed.

This is not the case. What the competition bar shows is the relative number of AdWord ads that are competing for the keyword.

      Two very different things.

Hey, it depends on what you're trying to do. Can you let me know exactly what you want to do and I'll let you know which tool is the best at doing that. If it's finding which keywords you can actually rank easily in Google, start getting traffic from, and make more money from your visitors, then it's Niche Finder. If it's for some other purpose like "ppc" then it's one of the other tools out there.

If you are a content writer writing articles, blog post or whatever for your sites, and you want a tool that can automatically rank and categorize keywords into 'rankability' categories, you won't do better than Money Keyword Finder.

It takes all the 'human' subjective choices out of keyword research. so that you choose the right keyword every time all based on a tried and tested formula that has never failed (plus it does a lot more)

You can read what users are saying about Money Keyword Finder on this forum here:

I have been using Google's free keyword tool for most of my keyword research. I have also been trying to figure out which paid research tool would be the best. I see so many out there with mixed opinions on what is the best.

I use keywords to get traffic to my website as well as articles, but I would also like to jump into the ppc game.

I keep hearing about market samurai being the best and then niche finder being the best, and I know this is a crazy noob question, but what really makes these tools that much better than Google's free keyword tool?

Among the free keyword softwares, Google Keyword tool is the best. I use it for searching the proper keywords. It is being controlled by big G which is the plus point and if we can have good analysis with a free tool, than why to pay for other tools to get the same stats.

Because Google doesn't tell you if you can rank the keywords in Google and start getting a portion of the monthly searches that they list. They just show you data, but it's not data that you can put to practical use.

For example, they show you search counts, and CPC values. So, from that, you know which words get searched a lot, and which ones are potentially "money making" keywords... BUT, you have no idea if it's realistic to rank that keyword in Google, and get traffic from it. If you can't rank the keyword, then it's useless (unless you're doing ppc, which most don't).

That's why people buy keyword tools (the good ones).

I'm amazed no one mentioned Market Samurai for keyword research.

I can't live without this amazing tool!

It aggregates data from Google and serves up a wide array of factors to help you assess competition and the likelihood of ranking for specific keywords.

        Market Samurai ROCKS!

I've heard a ton of good things about Niche Finder.

Money Keyword Finder sounds interesting too.

I'll have to check those out and see how they compare to Market Samurai.

Market Samurai isn't worth the price tag. Brad Callen's stuff can do the job just as well. SEO Elite and Keyword Elite were the ONLY two tools I used and it's paid for itself a 100,000 times over

"Micro Niche Finder" is a very practical tool also...add it to the list of the good ones.
It gives you the strenght of competition and the commercial intent (people that want to BUY something)...and that is a very important point also, along with the measure of backlinks (how many backlinks you need to build for your keyword to reach #1 (!), accurate data provided by Majestic SEO).

      My .2 cents...

Hi, Fiverr is a great resource, but I have to respectfully disagree with the "high searches/low volume" comment. Just because a keyword has low volume doesn't make it any easier to get into the top 5 and start getting traffic from it...

You could have a keyword with only 20 competing websites, but if the top 5 sites were all high PR, high links, aged authority sites... then the keyword is essentially useless because you're probably not going to outrank those 5 sites.

Likewise, you could have a keyword with 100,000,000 competing sites, but if all were low PR, low links, and spammy Adsense style sites, then the keyword could still be very valuable.

That's the problem with many of the niche marketing courses/products, as well as most keyword software products (not Niche Finder). They just teach to find keywords with "high searches and low volume" and don't focus on HOW GOOD those top 5-10 ranked websites are.

        See what I mean?

I got a little trick that kinda helps a bit to get around that issue.
One of these days I'll get my I.M Course up and running. I keep coming up with new chapters to talk about. nitemare.

I'm currently working on one k/w, been 8 month so far.. 108 million results and 127,000 searches per month and the traffic volume is consistent throughout the entire year.
currently floating on page 3 - 5 at the minute.

few thousand more backlinks and I should be good to go

I agree completely. I've tried to explain to so many people so many times that 'number of competing pages' is completely irrelevant in regards to SEO competition analysis.
