Firefox 4.01 Who has updated to this new version?

I have just updated to the new version, 4.01, and I am not impressed. I used to have the Google PR toolbar and my Roboform used to be able to fill in my logins, but all of that has disappeared and Firefox has completely taken over my toolbar. I hate it and I am most annoyed about it!

Has anyone else updated and are you experiencing the same things?

I don't know how to be able to restore it back to the previous version, can anyone tell me how to do that?

There are some noticeable layout differences between version 3.x and 4.0, but its overall functionality hasn't much changed. You probably just need to update your plugins so that they can work with with your new version. Go to "Tools > Add-ons" (press the "Alt" key first to get the menu to show up, if it's hidden) search for updates and then make sure that all your desired plugins/addons are activated. Then go to "View > Toolbars" and make sure that any toolbars you want to be displayed are selected.

      Hi Michael

Most kind of you to respond

I have gone where you suggested and it has taken me to Firefox's website where I have to make decisions!!!! I am so p....d off with them as there was was no need to completely change the way Firefox appeared before to what they have done now.

It feels like a complete takeover of my choices. They are like a firm that is completely dominating you by taking over completely. All you see is Firefox. Everything leads to Firefox. I am not impressed

Before version 4.00 you would be asked if you wanted to save your tabs, with version 4.00 it saved them automatically. Version 4.01 it doesn't ask and it doesn't save them. I can't even use my Roboform to get it to fill in my logins. When I click on it it takes me to the Roboform site. I tell you, I am most un-impressed and soooooo frustrated by it!

Yep, I have updated and am equally annoyed by the number of plugins that are no longer working. I dont know about Roboform, but yesterday I found a compatible version of the NoDoFollow plugin for Firefox 4. I posted the link in WF yesterday.

Glad to see someone else who is experiencing the same annoyance

They have no right to totally dominate our toolbar!!!!!

I am so angry with them

It feels like an invasion of my rights.......

I have tried to submit my feedback to Firefox but it won't accept it...... who knows why but all it is doing is annoying me even more. I feel completely violated, they have completely overridden my right to have a browser setup the way I want it.

Right as I had upgraded to 4.01 I didn't have all my plugin but everything else was the same.
As soon as I closed the browser and opened it again when I finished my first session all of my plugins, addons etc., were there.
I only have 1 or two things that look at bit different, but otherwise I am not seeing any differences.

Robo does not work with the new Firefox 4.0 UNLESS you BUY the new version of Robo which cost an additional $ 20.00 for the plugin / addon to Firefox ,,, bummer.

That was one of the plugins I no longer had the ability to use and having to pay an extra $20 doesn't impress me either!

I also used to have the PR rating for websites I browsed to, I can't remember what it was called, but that has disappeared as well.

I found it didn't save my tabs. Has anyone else found that?

Just give it time. I also made the mistake of upgrading. Firefox is notorious for releasing updates before they are ready for prime time. It will happen. Next time wait 60 days before upgrading.

I did download the 4.01 version and after a few hours of usage i uninstalled it and installed the previous version from my backup.

The new version took all my plugins toolbars off. really pieced me up.

    But its great >>>>>>SUPER FAST<<<<<

It's not really FF's fault that your plugins won't work. The authors the those plugins will have to update their plugins to make it compatible with the new version of FF.

It sounds almost the same but turn the blame around to the authors ;p

I have upgraded to every new version so far but this version is the only one that has entirely changed my browsing options, in other words it has stopped my plugins from working and as a previous person said, Roboform requires us to pay another $20 to be able to get that plugin to work with the new version. I just don't find this acceptable.

Maybe Firefox needs to work with authors of plugins such as Roboform which is a popular plugin, to help users of both not be frustrated by the new version.

I ultimately had to degrade back to 3.6.
