I recently signed up to Fiverr.com where you can buy or sell gigs for $5.
Has anyone used this to make money online? Any tips, tricks or advice you can share?

This is a great site, not just for making money, but getting things done for a great price. Just be careful of who you buy from. Check the ratings. And if you are going to sell, make sure you deliver so that you can get the good ratings so people keep coming to you.

There is actually a very good WSO here about fiverr that I recommend. Since I just joined last night I can't post a URL to it, but you can find it by searching for "Devil Wears Fiverr"

Very cheap and very helpful. (Full Disclosure: I am not the author or affiliate, nor am I affiliated with the author or affiliate. Just a newbie that's satisfied with his purchase.)

Nope, no one here has ever heard of Fiverr or mentioned in previous threads.

    </sarcasm>

Tip: The search button is your friend. You will find 'Fiverr' threads that will take you days to read.

I've used Fiverr. Paid for some videos that were helpful. You've got to weed through it (a lot of scammers in there) but there are some good deals now and then.

Fiverr is good for buying but I'm not sure about selling. I mean you can find offers that promises to drive 5000 or even more traffic to your site for only $5. That's cool right?
So I think you got what I mean

Hi Fiverr is a great resource I have been using it for the last year or so.
Great for minor wordpress work, or ad and even basic video creation, some article submission some blog commenting.
Personally I wouldn't recommend it for specific back link building too many providers spam sites with worthless profiles or comments which don't get indexed and don't last anyway.
As to selling gigs I wouldn't think there was much margin in it.

I agree with Fawkes63. Fiverr is pretty good for finding people to do small jobs but be careful with :

1.) people selling backlink packages - most are using Xrumer forum and blog comment spamming software. A sure way to get your site banned from Google. Most Xrumer users are unaware of the "honeypots" Google has setup to trap automated spammers.

2.) people selling traffic (web visitors) - especially if you are using Adsense, never, ever buy cheap traffic because 90% is bots or automated traffic exchange junk traffic that will get you banned from Adsense in a hurry.

Otherwise, I've gotten some darn cheap graphic design work done and had some people tweet to their large follower lists.

I used it, made 2 sales, had to turn down 5 other sales because of the lack of time I had and with the Gigs I had. I recently got back into it, posted 2 gigs and they got suspended because apparently the gigs didn't comply with their terms. I looked at their terms to verify. Well, to make it short, fiverr had no right to deny my gigs, especially when I was mocking one other gig from somebody else but, gave a better incentive. Imagine that. I see gigs all the time with the same offer but, different incentives. I am not saying that fiverr is out to get me. I just need to take the time to look around to see what it is that people are wanting to purchase.

I'd be interested in knowing what the gig and incentive were, if you don't mind sharing.

One gig I posted was web hosting for 3 months (Someone else posted web hosting for 1 year) and another was setting up a fully functional wordpress blog. Can't really remember what the incentives were though. Had to much going on right now dealing with my hometown getting hit by an F4 Tornado. Other than that, I did offer those gigs and they got suspended because they didn't met the terms.

Darin, sorry to hear about your hometown.

Yeah, I'm scratching my head why that would get you suspended.

            Thank you for the thoughts.

I have no idea. I mean to clarify it up, one gig I saw offered web hosting for $5 for one year with the same package as you get with the Hatchling Plan through HostGator. I offered mine for $5 for 3 months with the same plan as the Business Plan through Host Gator and then $10.95/month after the first 3 months. The only thing I don't offer yet is the Toll free number, SSL and dedicated IP yet. I would offer that to Warriors at a better price but, I am not set up for WSO's yet.

I just may keep searching on fiverr to see what I can offer because I do graphics, write and create ecovers as well.

I've currently made about 48$ this month. Find something that is easy for you to do + it has to be popular.

Thank you for the tip...I just have to manage my time a lot more effectively since I do have my son who goes to school about 2 hours 5 days a week. Need to spend time with him (that's a given). What I like to do is write and make graphics.

    1. Look for Fiverrs with excellent ratings.

    2. Always send a message asking questions about about aspects of the Gig you don't understand. Even if you already know the answers, send the inquiry. Generally, the quicker that respond, the more likely you are to receive great service. If they never get back to you, or take over four days to respond - "walk away".

    3. Ask other Warriors, contacts, followers or associates if they use Fiverr and who they use. Some will be forthcoming, some won't. Great and consistent outsource workers are not that easy to come by, so some marketers keep their discoveries to themselves.

    Hope this helps...

It's certainly the talk of the town at present and is an excellent site both as a buyer and seller and is a great way to promote your skills and also find tools to save you time and get your products promoted quickly.

    • Fiverr can save you a ton of money for small jobs that some professionals would overcharge for. For only 5 bucks - you can't beat it. You DO have to be careful and look at the reviews of the services before you purchase.

The reviews don't tell the whole story. How do you know which are real?

Only buy gigs that have more than 50 positive reviews. And ask (detailed) questions before you buy any gigs so that you know how responsive the seller is. Last, don't expect the Fiverr admin will do ANYTHING if you get scammed ( I've tried). Just give "a complete negative reviews" on your purchase so that the seller can not scam others.
But for 5 bucks, sometimes you can get a very good deal.

I've had great success buying gigs from Fiverr. most of the things I've purchased were things that could be done by a good program (which I didn't have). Best site around for cheap tasks.

yes, fiverr is great. Just start a gig and make some money. Try to look at gigs that are successful and try to do the same. Looking for an area to which you understand perfectly.Try to have a title that will attract the eyes.
A cool trick here : offer something for free!( a free ebook, +gig free or somethig interesting)This will attract more customers because your service will have something extra. Even if $ 5 is a trifle people will choose your gig because they get more for the same money.

To make more money easy trying to choose a product that you can do it in a few minutes. If takes you an hour to finish a product for $5 you waste your time.
Try to promote your gigs by facebook or twitter.
You must also have a little luck !

    Thanks
