Commission Siphon- My opinion

Hi guys,

This thread is to help people make a decision if they want to buy Commission Siphon. I'm not an affiliate, trying to promote their product. I just bought it a few months ago and I wanted to share my opinion about it.

I was invited by an IM marketer for a webinar about making 1000 $/day by pushing a few buttons and using only free traffic. The presentation really impressed me as it seemed to be so easy to find a great niche/ product to promote, build a site and monetize it.

IMHO, here are the pros:

  • The educational material is well organized; it's really step by step.

  • The software works as promised during the webinar (at least the research and site creation part).

  • I really like the research part that makes keyword research easier and quicker. Even if you don't know how to choose keywords properly, this software helps a lot because you only have to figure out if your keywords have 4 or more stars.

  • Additionally, it tells you if domain names with your keyword in it are available and you can purchase them directly from there.

  • You can also get insight reports that give a lot of information on competition, content creation and monetization possibilities.

  • To build a site it's very easy, as shown during the webinar. The software indicates where you can find pieces of content and then you just have to make it 60-70% unique by rewriting it on your own.

  • The traffic generation is easy too. You can easily create a campaign with the software which also has a feature to ping your new website.

Now I want to share some cons I discovered:

  • First of all, there is a limitation on the number of sites you can build with the software: only 25 with the initial payment of 997 USD. If you want more, you can purchase 1 website for 25 USD/ yearly, or 25 for 997 USD yearly, or 50 sites for 1997 USD yearly.

  • With the initial payment you can generate 500 insight reports about your selected keywords (in order to get more information on the competition and monetization). If you want more insight reports, you can buy 10 for 10.00 USD yearly.

  • If you want to buy a domain name (which is highly recommended for SEO), it will cost you 16.00 USD yearly, which isn't that cheap compared to the prices available on the market.

  • The traffic generation is based on blog commenting only! And you will have to make some serious SEO efforts on your own if you want to see your site rank well. Those who know at least a little bit of SEO, know that the best results can be achieved if you have a diversity of backlinks (and not only coming from blog commenting).

Now the thing I really didn't like is this old marketing trick: the false scarcity (it remembers me all these magic push-buttons software sold for 37 bucks and a huge quantity of affiliates promoting the same s**t).

During the webinar it was said that only 15 people could get in. Think about this: if you have a webinar invitation that is sent to thousands and thousands of people, it is very likely that it's going to be full (1000) and that more than 15 people are going to buy it.

The next day I received a message with the replay of the webinar and there were now only 2 spots available! The sender of this message sent it about 3 times over at least 3 days after the webinar and finally with a payment plan! So do you really think that they let only 15 people purchase it???

And now this is the hit: since I purchased the software more than 2 months ago, I received 3 more invitations from very well known IM marketers (I won't name them here) for that same webinar! And I can tell you that these guys know how to build their list, if you know what I mean.

Apart from that scarcity technique that upsets me, I can tell you that you can find a lot of other tools that will do the job very well and for a much more decent price. For instance Market Samurai has about the same features (even if the learning curve with MS might be a bit bigger) and if you know how to use FireFox plugins you'll get the same info on competition.

Then if you know how to set up a site based on Word Press, you don't need CS to build your site.

As the site I built with CS is quite new, I can't tell you about the results with their traffic generation tactics "on autopilot" but I feel that I'll have to do much more SEO.

Compared to other products you can find online I wouldn't recommend buying CS. If you still want to do so, it's your decision but take it wisely because there are no refunds!

I hope you liked my review and that it will help you.

Cheers,

Anthony

      Wow!

So this thing has been on the market for 2 Months! You know I was about to hit the buy button last night when I noticed the "Only 2 Copies Left" message never change even though the guy on the Webinar last night was thanking people live left and right for their purchases. Im very shocked that this was promoted to me from someone I thought looked out for my best interest.

Heh heh! Welcome to the 'real world', Buddy! You'll find that they are all on the same bandwagon or gravy train with this kind of total promotional BS. There are a LOT of GARBAGE products being promoted online - usually by email (and all too often by names you THOUGHT you could trust).

There is a truly fantastic and awesome product (a World Exclusive personal coaching course - for less than a thousand bucks) about to be promoted and launched online which will take you to millionaire status, and will get you making money online within six weeks Guaranteed - or you'll be given DOUBLE your money back. I know the marketer personally who is launching this, and you'll never have to look back if you jump on this one. . . There is a banner on my blog which will take you to the page where you can get all the details and information on it, if you are curious enough to want to take a quick look, and see what you think . . .

Interesting comments on this thread, especially when I just got done watching a video about CS and the price was $37, then $27 when I tried to leave.

I'm wondering if the video I just watched is about the same product mentioned on this thread. No mention of a $997 price for building 25 sites in the video.

Was that $997 an upsell? If that was the case I would have requested a refund immediately. Deceptive marketing at it's worst.

            You know what's even worse?

Today I received an email from Anik Signal telling me to watch a replay from yesterdays webinar.

            Guess what?

Only one license is available, so I better jump on it...

As long as so called 'respected online super affiliates' gets away with this and people will still say how great this is, we will see this going on forever.

Somehow, I might say, this is what people are asking for. Sad but true

If my math is correct, you can buy 40 sites at the $25 per year as opposed to the 25 sites for $997! Does that math strike anyone else as a little funny?

Many thanks for posting your review Anthony.
I'm watching a replay of the Commission siphon webinar and wanted to see if there are any comments about this system on WF.
The scarcity game from an email I received:

He allowed us 15 copies on the webinar.
And it totally sold out in minutes. Simon even closed
down his website and I got a flood of emails from
people who didn't get a chance to order.

Suffice to say, the vast majority were unable to get a copy.

GOOD NEWS: He's just opened it up again.

You do need to move fast though.

He doesn't kid around, he closed the website
immediately last time. And he will again.

Click here to see his system in *action*...
I hope you get this before the replay is removed.
Apologies if it already is :-(

OK - now, with all what I learned from your post I'm going back to watching a remainder of the commission siphon replay.

    Thanks again

Refunds are one thing, but if you feel that you've been lied to, misled or the victim of deceptive marketing, you can always seek to have the charge reversed by your credit card company.

Direct Marketers all got done for similar tactics in the 80's where you'd buy something and it have limitations the required you to spend more money to fully enable whatever it is you bought.

      That's not good faith marketing.

If you feel within 30 days that you aren't satisfied or that the product doesn't do what the person says, request a refund and clearly state your reasoning. If they refuse then take your initial email and their response to your credit card company and apply for a chargeback.

I'd also unsubscribe from the marketers lists who promoted these products. You're on their list by choice and it's a privelage for them to have you. The best way to stop this huckster marketing is to unsubscribe from lists that send you rubbish.

I was about to purchase this today ... so much for the "only 15 available" story ... absolute lie. Down to the last one ... another absolute lie. During the webinar it was said that only 15 people could get in. Think about this: if you have a webinar invitation that is sent to thousands and thousands of people, it is very likely that it's going to be full (1000) and that more than 15 people are going to buy it.

What about the Lie regarding the creation of the software specially done by a friend ... absolute lie. Pretty well identical software available with the same screen capture. Surely there must be a way to stop charlatains like this guy. I unsubscribe as soon as someone tried to con me.

Unfortunately this is one from the creators of PCC. I reviewed his Point Click Commissions and the webinar for this program was being advertised in the back office with the "Only 73 spots left" message. Funny that days after that webinar the message is still there.

If you check out the review I have there you will definitely understand the man's character and tactics. I am definitely not impressed with screen shots and so called live footage as it all can and has be doctored. The gentleman on the webinar did nothing but sell, sell, and sell.

While I'm sure it has it's pros and can guarantee it has some serious cons. Unfortunately for the creators most of the cons start with them and their marketing tactics.

I would try this system for myself however there is no refund or money back guarantee included which is a big red flag for myself personally.

I just watched the recorded webinar that was sent to me by a big name marketer here on the Warrior forum.

The website builder looks pretty slick with all the drag and drop stuff. I was disappointed by how they glazed over the traffic generation and made it look so awesome. When it comes down to it they really didn't show us anything. It looks like it automatically finds blogs to submit comments to. But really... how many of those blogs are even going to approve the comment... which we have not seen and it was automatically generated? I really can't see these blog comments as being a source of traffic if any of them even get approved.

If this really worked it would be awesome... but I really have my doubts if the methods described will drive enough traffic to generate the advertised $1,000 per day.

I was aware of the false scarcity BS which pretty much shows their level of integrity, but the limited websites was never mentioned as well as the nickle and dime approach to all the extra charges. The look of the websites were sub par in my opinion. If I paid that much and found out I could only build 25 sites I would charge back on my credit card as that was never divulged in the webinar...Screw that douche, I just built it for my friends and family, LOL

I REALLY hate these marketers that sell a product for decent money then you get into the area and they say you can upgrade for more goodies and special techniques, that really makes me want to wedgie the crap out of them.

I am surprised to here he has all the extra things he is charging for. he clearly states in his webinar several times there is no extra money you need or there are no upsells like that other rubbish people sell you. you will only need a few dollars for a domain and that is only if you want to. I so wanted to buy this it made things look so easy. I need something to get started with so bad. but my excitement was soon gone when the 1000.00 price came up. then it looks like you will need a few more thousand. oh well back to searching some more.

Good idea - it would be worth researching the USA for such an organization if it's dedicated to the IM world because otherwise we do have have the Federal Trade Commission and State Attorneys Generals. So, are you speaking of a UK government agency or one specializing in IM?

"Simon" won't give his last name or location but he sounds Australian and someone in another forum said they thought he was in Taiwan.

But it does matter where the merchant is. If the merchant is in another country, the Better Business Bureau (see link above), which is a US-Canada consumer protection agency, will refer complainants to econsumer.gov, which then uses complaints to track down cross-border e-commerce fraud. It also offers "Less expensive" options than court for resolving disputes.

However, here we need to differentiate between "lodging a complaint" and "requesting a refund." I think it's correct to say that only the payment processor (in this case SWREG, your credit card or PayPal) can refund your money and that lodging complaints with consumer protection agencies is more about, well... lodging complaints, helping them identify fraud, and getting black marks on a merchant's record.

If "lodging a complaint" with BBB it would have to be against SWREG, a global PayPal alternative. By using SWREG, "Simon" is able to hide behind their name. Only SWREG is named as "merchant" on your payment receipt. "Simon" would not, in my experience, reveal his last name or location, and it is rumored he's in Asia.

As to my experience with SWREG and PayPal in this matter, see my post in the other thread "Who Else Bought Commission Siphon."

Based on the similarity of the whole presentation, the identical design and wording at the purchase link, and the many features that do the same things, it seems apparent that Commission Magnets might be a rehash of Commission Siphon except for the ditzy website template used in Commission Siphon.

I must assume it's being promoted and sold by the same owners and affiliates because I got my invitation from the same affiliate that sold me Commission Siphon, and because the presentation works in exactly the same way. Namely the alleged "exclusive private invitation webinar," "only 15 will be sold and then they will shut it down," "Only 1 (or 2) Remaining" when you get to the identical purchase page (even though it stays that way indefinitely) and the same $997 price. There is no money back guarantee at the purchase link, which implies that their no-refund policy most likely applies.

The product itself seems to have all the same very impressive features so it looks like Commission Siphon under a different name and with a different webinar narrator named "Ricky."

The webinar is pre-recorded with the affiliate as the host/referrer and he never reappears. The narrator says the affiliate has "lost his connection" at the end. In closing, "Ricky" works people into a feeding frenzy with the scarcity claim, welcoming one buyer after another by name as the product quickly approaches "sold out" status. I wonder if it's the same set of names on all the other webinars they're running.

I bought CS when it first came out, late March. I was very hesitant because of the high price, but too curious to pass it. I've been through ups and downs with Simon, as there were some technical problems at the beginning. I am glad I stuck with it, despite all cons. It is a great tool, easy to use and actually fun. I enjoy building sites and they do make money!

CS marketing is bad, and they exaggerate a lot. You won't build a website in a few minutes, believe me. You need to do a lot of research if you want to build a good site. The blog commenting posting is a bad joke too. You get to choose pre-written comments that are sent to some blogs and eventually accepted. In 2 months I saw very few back links from them. So you need to do some serious backlinking if you want to be on the first page on G and make some money.

You can buy domains elsewhere for less, it works well and I highly recommend it. You won't be able to transfer the websites you build with CS from CS server though. So you are stuck with $25/year hosting price, per website. You can maintain any number of websites. The initial price $997 includes 25 websites for one year. By the end of the year I will select the sites that are most profitable and renew them. Hopefully all of them will be.

I decided to write this review because I was contacted by a lady who bought CS also. She actually came across one of my sites (browsing - yes, natural traffic!) and recognized the "contact us" page! She was extremely pleased to see the CS in action, so to speak. It is sad that our forums are becoming a place of negativity, instead of constructive discussions. I am not saying CS is awesome, it has a lot of flows, but it is not the worst thing ever. I am seeing a few dollars every day with Adsense and Amazon, but I am still at the start line, with 14 sites, 11 more to go!

I enjoy building sites and they do make money!

                Dear lianab11,

It's good to see that you were spared the difficulties that I and apparently others experienced, and your review keeps the discussion fair and balanced. I'm not here to argue but do need to respond to your term "exaggerate," which is too kind a word for deceptive (also too kind a word) advertising;and to your comment that "It is sad that our forums are becoming a place of negativity, instead of constructive discussions."

Because of my jawdroppingly bad experience with CS and my anxiety over lost time and money, I came to the forum to find out if I was alone, and to see if anyone had received refunds despite Simon's refusal and despite the fact that he had delivered -- at least to me -- an inoperable product. I also felt obliged to post info re my experience in case it could help others avoid similar grief and losses. Considering what I had been through, I used great restraint in these posts, although some might disagree. I do know that I honestly tried to hit the note between the keys, i.e. observing forum rules about criticizing merchants on the one hand, and hopefully helping others avoid the same (too kind a word) problems on the other. What I really wanted to do was call a (too kind a term) spade a spade and also name the referrer because now I seriously questioned his ethics, but I didn't do either one.

I know all this sounds defensive and I hate that, because I have nothing that needs defending. I just couldn't agree with your dismissal of the honest accountings in this thread as simply being negative, any more than I would "step on your dream" when you have developed a positive belief in a program.

Otherwise I think your review was objective and I hope you continue to find CS all that it was advertised to be.

                Respectfully,
                Whitecar

I would REALLY like to see what Bobby n Jarett have to say about all this. They really hyped this webinar up obviously knowing what it was. I even instructed my mom how to use camtasia so I could record the webinar. I watched the first 5-10 minutes and the second I heard 997 without the word cents being mentioned after any of the numbers, well I turned it off. It's amazing though that I had some pretty reputable indiiduals suggest this product...... :\ Also, is this Simon, as in linkwhizz??? :\

Wow, I can't believe that you are charged nearly $1000 to buy the product only to have to pay more money to keep using it. What a rip off.
