Viral PDF Rebrander...Anybody Use This?

Does anybody use this?

Viral PDF eBooks - turn your PDF documents into a viral sales force

What's the general consensus?

Is it the best solution out there or is there something better?

Not having to rely on net framework and having to only send 1 file is very
attractive to me.

Any feedback is appreciated.

  • Steven,

Viral PDF is an excellent bit of kit.

Very simple to use for both yourself your customers.

    Recommended.

    Andy.
  • Check out Harvey Segal's ultimate rebrander. Nothing
to download. Idiots can use it because it rebrands the
report and gives them a link to send out. They don't
have to Host a PDF, do FTP, send PDFs by email. You get
the picture. It's a little tricky to install on HG though -
    runs on PHP4
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
  • Hi Steven,

Yep, we use it. It works a treat.

  • Anyone have an example of a pdf doc rebranded with viral pdf?
  • Hey Steven

I recently bought rr to a limited product by a well known honest IMer. He can afford any version but I just checked out Sean's compare you supplied the link to and it is the Classic Edition. The PDF and brander are separate. In the more expensive versions says "One file to distribute (PDF embedded in Rebrander)".

I have only used it on the rebranding end of it but I liked it. One thing I noticed with some of the rebranders is after you rebrand a PDF there is a problem. If you approach the branded link from above or below just before the cursor is properly (centered on top of text) on top of the branded link the original link is active. So as you move into the click zone us see the original unbranded link and then moving on top of the link you see the link with your affiliate ID.

As some one that may decide to pass out a rebranded product this is a problem. Knowing that if I make the effort to distribute it I still might not get credit for the click. If the the link is clicked in the area where the link is active but just outside of where my rebranded ID is it still goes to the sales page. Even if I would want to use the rebranded product or report there is 99.99% certainty I won't because the junk rebrander is allowing 2 click zones with different outgoing links on the same clickable link.

Now I not accusing but this type of rebrander is a good way to purposely bypass a percentage of affiliate commissions and for the product/ebook/report creator to have the possibility of getting sales with out paying the middleman (me). I will also say at least 1 Warrior Member is doing this. He didn't have an appropriate response when I brought this to his attention and nothing was done to correct it (you know who you are).

As far as Viral PDF Classic Edition is concerned I can't find anything wrong with it and trust it to properly rebrand. There are different features for all 3 editions Viral PDF and you know what your needs are. I have plans of using a rebrander myself and I will be using one of the versions of Viral PDF myself.
  • For the record, Viral PDF works great. The problem is that you need to have detailed instructions since a lot of people do struggle with downloads, may not understand the rebranding process, etc.

Plus, you need to follow certain procedures to create your PDF files and make them rebrandable. It's easy for any seasoned IM'er, but there will always be people who will need a lot of hand holding to get it working.

I prefer web based rebranders because it's easier for everyone involved (including you).

I tried Harvey Segal's product but it didn't work with my webhost, which I found odd since it uses cpanel and every other software I've installed works great.

I ended up having one custom made for one of my websites and am very happy with it.

    • These are valid concerns, IMO. Not many are technically inclined to rebrand and even though they can, who wants to take the trouble to do it. May check out Harvey's product.

  • OK, how exactly do you use this tool? You allow people to change the recommended links in the pdf for a premium? How does this work as a marketing tool?

    TomG.

    • Tom, there are plenty of uses for it.

Create a short report with a link to YOUR product that affiliates can rebrand
with their OWN affiliate link. You still make 50% of each sale after the
initial sales from you go out.

Or, you can give the report away. You're bound to make some back end
      sales from it.

It's a great way for something to go viral.

  • I'd just like to note that my conversation with Harvey did happen, so there's no debate about it. I also applaud him for taking the time to contact me, which says a lot in my book.

  • I believe that probably a large percentage maybe even the majority of affiliate sales are lost because of the fiddlyness or perceived complexity of the rebranding procedures. That's why a web a based rebrander should give a better return, simplicity is the key.
  • Anyone have experience with instantpdfprofits.com
It offer a branding tool as well, but the price different comparing to Viral PDF is huge.

    • It Dan here... I am the owner of PDF Power Brand and I have to say I am shocked!

We have a very strict refund policy at PDF Power Brand. Simply put, if you ask for a refund, you get one.
I have even refunded people well after the 60 day period PayPal allows. You did not receive a refund Solomon because you did not ask for one. At least I have no record of it that I can track through your name in the support desk.

The charge made was to be able to remove the link you are complaining about from PDF Power Brand documents.

If you want a refund, please PM me your PayPal receipt and I will send you the money you paid.

PDF Power Brand has just undergone a huge update and all the issues have been fixed. I'd be grateful if anyone reading this post would try my free software and website before making their mind up after reading one negative comment in this post.

We aim to bring together merchants and affiliate marketers and offer a potentially fantastic free resource to anyone wanting to promote practically anything online.

I've worked very hard on this, it's a shame you feel I let you down Solomon, let's work it out?

      Respectfully

      Dan Blackburn
  • Hi Dan,

Thanks a lot of your reply.

I'm not saying you or your company is bad, but I still to this day feel very cheated and having support brush me off multiple times didn't help the situation. Especially when I was new to Internet Marketing and money was a resource I didn't have much of.

But I do understand that things happen and am more than willing to give people a second chance.

I'll gladly take you up on that offer and report back directly to this thread so others can know the outcome. I just found my receipt so I'll PM you

    Solomon
  • Hi Solomon,

I have sent you a refund. I have to say though, I still cannot find record of you asking for one. You were told that we were aware of and working on the problem and it was fixed.

I can tell you that you did not lose a single referral. I can be sure of this because the affiliate ID that was incorrectly inserted into your document did not make a any referrals.

Hope that makes you feel better.

    Dan
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • Dan,

Yours is a glowing example of why I always preach: "Give them their money back if they aren't happy, no matter what your refund policy is."

What you just did built more credability in your business than 100 testimonials ever could.
  • Hi Dan,

Thank you very much for the refund, especially considering the amount time that has passed.

My main issue was giving my customers a rebrander with someone else's affiliate link and having no idea how long it was doing that. You're right I don't believe I asked for a refund (It's been awhile!), but that wasn't the issue. I'd rather have used the software I paid for.

Without a timetable for fixing the bug and no notification of when the issue was fixed, I didn't come out feeling good.

But again this is a non-issue now, I appreciate you going out of your way to repair the situation.

  • I am trying to re-brand an ebook using Viral PDF Rebrander.

The supposedly 'signed' ebook is provided by the book's author and I'm being told to just 'drag 'n drop' OR open the book into the rebrander.

After countless attempts, it is still giving me an error saying that the ebook is not signed. The author says it is. Their 'support' is very slow and I'm getting very impatient waiting for a solution.

    Any one have ideas?

    Thanks heaps.

    • What should the link look like in the pdf after it has been 'signed' but before I re-brand it?

      Rainer
  • I used it for my first rebrandable report. I like it.

The full silver version IS too expensive. Sure, maybe you don't need to give it away for free, but $197? Come on. $47 is plenty decent, and even then...
  • Good software.... make my subcriber multiple several times

  • I'm taking a look at :DF Brander - Brand your PDF eBooks Instantly - by Tom Hua::. Looks a bit pricey, but it seems to do what I need. Does anyone have any experience with it?
  • I've just tried trial version of viral pdf using MS Word 2007 AND OpenOffice 3.1 - both signed OK but when branded links and names were cluttered.

I tried several times, always the same cluttered outcome.

I watched the videos, and did the same, so it may be something with my Windows or Word...

  • Thought I'd quickly chime in here...
I have Viral PDF and recommend it.

However, there was an error with the software.

If you're having problems with VPDF recognizing your branded links,
you'll have to embed all the characters you're using, into your pdf document.

using the same font as your branded links

    i.e.

    If your branded link is {-branded-link-}
and VPDF is not recognizing the link when you go to brand it.

    You need to embed the characters : b r a n d e l i k
    into your PDF document.

The characters can be in white at the bottom of a page
so they're invisible to the human eye, but VPDF needs to recognize the characters first, before it can brand the link.

    anyways...

    PM if anyone gets stuck
  • yes, it is a problem of all pdf rebranding applications, that if some letters from font used in document are not included in document, software has basically 2 options:
    1. leave on place of missing character a space (not very nice and document looks not professional)

    2. use default font for missing letter - looks better, but formatting of document is not 100% if you used in PDF document unique font, which is not similar to default fonts

In Post Affiliate Pro Rebrand PDF feature we implemented option number 2. In case somebody will do it as you suggested with white letters from alphabet at the end of document, problem is solved, because than rebranding module will find complete font set in the document.

    • I've been using Viral PDF Master.

With that you can put optin forms into any PDF document.

Then when people open the PDF, they have to fill out the optin form before they can actuall read the PDF.

I had a lot of PLR PDF's that I had on my system doing nothing, so I embedded my optin form into each of the PDF's using the software and put them up on the ebook syndication sites.

At least if someone open my PDF I've got a real good change of collecting their name an email.

For me this is much better than a squeeze page.

  • OK, so I'm leaning toward Viral PDF ... but which edition? Classic, Personal or Silver. How do I choose? It's not clear how I decide. Any advice appreciated,
    • [1] reply
    • I want something hosted on MY domain. So on their affiliate page, they can get the book, and all the other affiliate arsenals... Although I do like the fact that they can just give them a link direct to their branded PDF.

So what's the best deal here? This I need to implement, pretty much, immediately. Last time I had over 7,000 downloads. This time I expect 3-5x that. Because this time, it will be branded with affiliate links.

    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • OK so I see my issue with viral pdf brander is the font issue what a pain in the #$$ well I will have to check into that and see what I can do. I just want something easy that works. Very frustrated here.

    Thanks,
