Anyone become a worshipful brother or sister of DotComSecrets Illuminati?

Hi

Has anyone subscribed as a member of Russell Brunson's DotComSecrets Illuminati? Or am I not allowed to talk about it, like Fight Club the 1st rule of DotComSecrets Illuminati is ... "we do not talk about the Illuminati" ... lol

One question I have is, which "elite" marketers are involved in helping the members?

I would like other users opinions on this product before I subscribe myself.

Regards

James Harkin

Russell Brunson's DotComSecrets Illuminati has an exceptionally annoying video. I tried to listen to it, but after 5 minutes closed it out. The video didn't look like it was ever going to tell you even the least bit about what the program actually was.

Wow, cjreynolds. I have to give you credit. You must have great tolerance for psychic pain to listen to the whole thing!
I trust there was no permanent damage.

I have had a bit to do with Russell Brunson in the past but ended up putting him on my banned list, sending me too much 2nd rate stuff and I just lost all interest and respect for the guy. If buying any of his products be sure you can get a refund thru say clickbank if it doesnt stack up. Pity as he started off quite good.

The video was completely odd. I too used to value being on Brunson's list. He would actually send out email content without sales pitches. In the past 6+ months, he has promoted some really crappy launches and products. I sense some desperation in his recent promotions and launches.

            Hey guys

If you want to look at it from a marketing standpoint - it's the highest converting video we have ever done. So...

And in the last 3 weeks I have sent out 8 content emails and just 2 sales emails.

            Wierd.

            Thanks guys

...you might want to check your CRM stats and whether there's a correlation between the sophistication of your list and the response to this offer.

Probably you already considered that, but before some guys try to swipe this offer: I sent the Illuminati pitch to my marketing office as a joke and the response was an unanimous "unsubscribe!". If you do stuff like that, you'll keep the Proactiv crowd, but you're losing your MAC/Chanel customers.

Some people will not tolerate being talked to in this way - I certainly wouldn't - and sometimes (not always) these are your favorite customers on a LCV basis.

That's not to say you shouldn't use it, but you might lose your A-customers if you're applying this kind of close-to-false advertising indiscriminately; I remember one of my colleagues canceling a $90,000 mailing because the marketing agency working with the print shop got his name wrong (twice) in the offer they sent him. If you sent him the illuminati pitch, he'd spend the next month getting you blacklisted across the entire industry.

But after all, there are people watching Glenn Beck for reasons != amusement, so there might be forces at work that I don't understand yet.

Hey Russel, were just messin' with ya. I like most of your products and ideas. But lately I have gotten really burned out on long sales videos that don't get right to the point. It would be interesting to see a sales video that was short, sweet and cut to the chase to see if it would convert for no other reason than it was a change from all the rest.

I liked the Sales Copy personally not that I bought the product but I thought it created enough curiousity to get someone on the fence to want to join the IM illuminati. It was also brilliant on capitalizing off of what famed psychologist Abraham Maslow called the Need To Belong as well as how people love to belong to something EXCLUSIVE and needless too say there is no wonder as too why it would have converted so well.

Also I really liked Russells more recent Clickbank launches 20 Minute Payday and Underachiever Secrets which too an extent were almost identical but they were good products none the less that if the person who purchased them TOOK ACTION with the knowledge they learned from them then there is no doubt they could make quite a bit of money!

IMHO Russell has lost all credibility with me. It's simply a remake of the Cambridge Business Academy of which Kevin Potts took 30 Grand from 100 people to build them a 100K a year business and promptly shut his site down on January 6th of 2011. He and Russell were promoting each others stuff via live Seminars all over England.

    I'm just sayin'

I hated the beginning headline... "too controversial for the internet" but the middle of the video sucked me in. I quite enjoyed it and then fell out with the offer just because I think it loses the Illuminati feel... but then you gotta ask for the order somehow!

I don't know Russel Brunson but I know his products are generally very well received and there are some people here with life changing testimonials for his products.

Opinions are nice guys, but we all know as direct response marketers, the prospect's ACTIONS are what matters.

Not sure on the 'no content' emails... i'm on russell's list as well, he sent out SEVERAL killer youtbue 'sketch' videos that were *really* well done.

Must have taken a while for the team to put them together.

Maybe you didn't see em', deleted em' or forgotten them... but they were pretty darn good, especially for someone you guys trash as 'not sending out content'.

    hmmm...

So what I see from the lavish sales video is that there is a secret organization called the illuminati or something. This organization is some Internet millionaires and I guess we will learn how they became these millionaires.

So, am I going to pay a millionaire to learn how to fleece sheople like me with upsells, downsells, OTO and all the other stuff so that I can do the same? Not for me, it is about time the illuminati realised that we like to pay for substance and not fluff.

I can always count on Miz to keep it real...

You got to this one first man. Was coming in to say most of the same things.

The video converts, prospects are happy, and Russell has already been successful beyond what 99% of the members on this forum will ever be...

But, don't try to learn anything from him. That'd just be silly.

Yes, how to keep the endless loop of bulls**t flowing and sell the idea that you can become a member of this fictitious illuminati. I may not be a millionaire but I know bs when I see it.

Admittedly, though as I said before the copy was pretty cheesy, that is how we usually do this - write copy that gets attention, and therefore sells product...

Frankly, there is no right or wrong method. That is why the varied reviews here. It is a matter of personal preference. Ultimately, what counts is will it convert well enough. Well, that is the job of a good marketer, isn't it? You never know until you try it out, so long as you tweak it based on the test results until it works.

All I know is Russell puts out quality, and the Illuminati is no different.

The last 7 FREE videos he put out have been pure gold, and most people would put them in a course and sell it for $97.

He's got tips in there that have made him millions of dollars..I guess that's not good enough content for people though..

I think the key question is, did anyone here buy? We can debate all day on the quality of the pitch, but the actual conversions are all that matters.

I bought it and here is my review.

First, the sale process and price: I did not watch all the video, I hate video sales letters. When I clicked to close the window, a popup appeared and asked me to stay on page. Then the offer I saw was a membership web site where almost everything Russel Brunson offered in a members only web site for 97$/m. There were a few programs I was interested before, but could not get because of high price, like 1000$+, and when I saw those were included in membership, my interest got peaked. And then the offer became $19.97 the first month, and then $97 per month every month, it was too cheap not to try.

There was one upsell like 7-figure shortcut or something, I did not get, and I did not notice the price tag.

I'm glad I did buy into this and pay for the trial. The membership area includes videos of many (maybe all?) workshops Russel has given, including Underachiever, 20 minute payday, 12 month millionaire, dotcomsecrets protege, the systems workshops and more... Obviously, just one of these workshops are worth much more than $19, even the $97 without trial discount. Given that you actually apply them, of course.

There are also many more video trainings divided into a 4-year program, all available immediately. Some nice bonuses like "Ultimate Entrepreneur" from Dan Kennedy, and monthly fresh content in the form of schetchcasts, where Russel explains one specific topic in front of a whiteboard and his handwritten explanations and sketches in around two hours.

Overall, I think it is a good membership site for the serious Russel Brunson student. For me, I will download a few specific workshops that I'm interested in, and then not continue membership. Because if do try to study everything in the membership site, I can fall into information overload and be overwhelmed.

And a nice touch is that, there is a form on the web site where you can supposedly "text a millionaire" and directly text Russel's cell phone. Direct access to Russel, if true, is a real gem, but I did not test it myself yet.

Other than the "illuminati" approach of the video sales letter, I think this is certainly a good membership site offer for the serious Russel Brunson student. If you bought anything from him and were pleased, but could not buy some his previous workshops, I think you'll find it included in this cheap to try membership.

I hope this helps you guys...

Inside the membership site, he's giving a 1 hour training every month and just this is worth the entire price. You also get the replays, a bunch of Seminar and a bunch of Consultation calls.

Quality & quantity is their, it's all you need. For the sale video, yes it is little bit cocky but when you care about giving the value back to customers, it's worth.

He's a great model no question.
