I can tell you guys that I spent a lot of time looking into all these avenues and finally settled on MapPi as my first choice. I read pretty much everything out there before pulling the trigger. After reading about some other technologies Kevin of MapPi had developed (bluetooth internet access on public transportation) I was convinced that MapPi would be most likely to be really developed well. I am 100% satisfied with the product and the customer service. I had a few specific things I needed help with and Kevin jumped right on it. The product is fantastic and has a few extra features the others don't. It is the best thing I have bought out of this forum for sure.

That will depend on how you use them
I run an offline business and get lots of promotional emails - most (if not all) go straight in the bin
The ones that don't are personalised in some way....
chuckle ... I often get phone calls .... "I can get you on the first page of google for your keyword" .. if I'm fealing cheaky I will say "have you googled "my industry,my suburb" ... if so you would see all the listing on that page are references for my site ...so knucklehead,do some research before you waste any one elses time" ......click
I like the look of these because you can add info relating to the potential clients site

I went for PLP .... just starting to use it

I couldn't agree more. I had so many people email me and say they noticed my site wasn't ranking well for some primary keywords. Obviously if they bothered to check into my site, they would have noticed that I was already ranking like number 2 on the first page of Google. Kinda gets me ticked off.

        don't know about power leads

I use MapPi-Kevin is awesome to work with and provides excellent, ongoing training and support.

I'm glad to hear that Kevin supplies excellent and ongoing training and support. This is something that is severely lacking in my humble opinion with Power Leads Pro. I wish I had purchased it or maybe MapPI instead and in fact I probably will soon get one of them.

PM me if you want to know how I was treated by PLP. Plus I did a review on it elsewhere in this forum, just use the search tool.

I'm getting some pretty random results with PLP
eg a search for Architects Sydney will only give me results for Architects Adelaide - a different city
after 100 results it starts to pull in some really random stuff -
like the Opera House website! mmmmm
On a plus it does retrieve emails from many websites that are not on places listing (good for unclaimed listings) + does have a yellow pages function with the wso

At this stage I have not put a enough time into it to give a conclusive opinion.
                (It is slow)

I think the 7 day refund is a bit of .... well *#:*
the reason given - oh you could have used it to get your data and then refund just doesn't wash ...
anyone spending that amount of money(even at WSO price) is not going to use this just for 7 days

@ duffmarketing - I don't think your comments are within the spirit of the forum - the guy may be a jerk in your opinion - but we are not intersted.
Factual statements re: poor service, crappy refund policies etc are useful to help others decide.
    - yes, it may be a fine line, but perhaps you may have more credibility that way.
From my point of view despite PLP being slow and returning some random and limited results - it is getting more emails from websites than my other program - and the wner has answered my few emails in a timely manner
    cheers

Ty Danny, Glad to hear your having more success with it, please do not forget there is a total of about 18 plugins now (sources) you can use to search.

Also, submit a ticket about that query you run, the way the keywords work is, if its found any where on a listing page it will pull that result, so it may seem random, but maybe we can have another look at it for you.

I have used PLP since 11/2010 and have been very happy with it. I search by city not radius and love being able to just set it and forget it and come back to a list of hundreds or even thousands of potential leads with emails. The automated email scheduler also works great. I have seen a lot of updates over the months which have really enhanced the product and sometimes cause bugs which usually get fixed quickly. One of the newer features that analyzes domains has helped me secure a few clients because it shows unclaimed listings and if businesses have Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as Meta Tags, Keywords, ... It is truly a powerful product and it has saved me hundreds of hours in prospecting/emailing time.

I just wanted to say that power leads pro is the sickest program I have ever used. I landed all my offline clients using power leads pro it makes every thing I do to get more clients as easy as 123. Plus Matt is all ways making it better I get updates all the time. If you get power leads pro you will never need to buy anything else again. Great job Matt.

What PLP PlugIn(s) are folks having the best results with?

I am looking for Local Biz Name, Owner/Contact Name, email and maybe phone number. Don't care about web rankings or anything like that. I would like to be able to filter searches by area & business type.

Reading through the sales materials it is not clear to me if I need G Maps, Places, Manta, YP, or something else for best results with this type of data.

I'm looking at several products now, and while PLP looks great, it seems like it may get expensive if I need to buy more than 1 or 2 plugins for what I need.

Are there demos available for any of these apps?

    Thanks!
    -Ed

I'm primarily a PLP user myself. Other than being slow to pull data, I'm very pleased with the program.

What I do is pull the same category and city in Google Map, Google Places (new), Yellow Pages and Super Pages. I do this because one plugin will pull information another plugin doesn't. Consistently I'm pulling additional (or real) email addresses from a plugin where another plugin doesn't pull any email addresses. (I said "real" because some people will put in an email address like user@domain.com for their Google Places listing.)

Then I merge them all together into one database including syncing their data together. For example, I may have ABC Manufacturing in all 4 lists and the database program will combine all of their data together into one record. Very cool! In addition, some don't pick up the address. You can sync the address in from the other scraped lists to fill in the records that don't pull the address.

Then, as the clincher, I sync my UBL list with my merged/synced PLP list which then fills in the contact name, # of employees, annual revenue and a few other fields.

Obviously I don't get contact names for all records, but I do for a lot of them.

Other than the scraping time, all of this takes 6.25 minutes for about 6,000 records.

Then I use my database system to manage my marketing campaigns. I can print labels for postcards (or export out a CSV file to be imported into SendOutCards.com or another 3rd party program), it will do fully personalized mail-merged letters and fully personalized mail-merged emails.

Once I get leads I use the database system to stay on top of them and turn them into customers.

PLP and my database program have made me a lot of money!!! Thanks Matt!

I have both and well overall I use PLP.

overall yes it does now and then pull some weird stuff but I get emails and its fast

I can scrape 1000-1200 leads in less then a few hours with all the info I need. love that fact.

I have used a few of the others plugin and they are nice but overall speed
        5 stars
support 4.5 (key in my opinion they have always answered me fairly quickly even on weekends )

So Does s GPS Scrapper on support but when I scrape I need larger numbers and leads for my call center I am using so this is the primary reason I use PLP

Hey man! I got powerleads pro but it is giving me trouble and haven't heard back from your support. Is there any way I could get assistance. It's been some qweeks now and I'd LOVE to hear from you because your software rocks but its just not working on the computer I'm now using. It asks for a Net 4 or something and when I download that from microsoft it still doesn't work.

        My experience in Australia
After the somewhat curt response above - Mathew made some modifications to the software to allow the methods I was using - ie - keyword + location in the search bar for google maps plugin - this has proved to be the most accurate method to date. Will do a small town no problems - for cities I have needed to enter a number of locations within the city to get maximum results.
The PLP WSO offer has 3 plugins
        yellow pages maps and google
my maps experience I have noted
the google will pull all resuts from a google search - may have some uses
but has too many directory listings for me
yellow pages plugin has predfined locations works well for smaller sites but is limited for larger cities - is good for up to approx 100 listings.

@ BradleyC - love to get some more detail on how you did the merge

How does anyone feel Link Assist products perform? I've tried BrightLocal but it deos not cover Ireland. I'm also looking at Mappi...

I do a lot of CPV and other methods, I have been a user of PLPonly for a few months at most. Overall I have been happy, however, if you are a marketer who only wants emails optins, this tool will not work (unless I have missed something.) One is required to have name and email address as a min. Which is a shame, the whole point of using this service was to put aside aweber, seems like it wont be the case.

I cant comment on the other tools, but thanks for bring this up. I am sure the product owners or owners spy's are watching this thread now.
