Black Book DVDs - Review

I got my copy for $297 at the close-out sale and it arrived today after about a week.

I've gone through 4 of the DVDs and I'm really, really impressed.

There is just so much brilliant information about Pay Per Click and how to build a business model which maximises your return from every visitor.

I've learned a ton of tricks and, even more importantly, have the fundamentals engrained in my mind so I'll never forget them.

It is a vindication of my recent decision to buy courses on specific areas of marketing rather than "one-size-fits-all" general courses.

All I can say is if anyone is involved in PPC and wants to really make it work then this course is a great investment.

I'm so fired up now for 2 new projects of mine using X's techniques. The giving away your product to build your business is an awesome twist.

Not wanting to reveal too much content here but I am glad I've learned
that the "Use as many keywords as possible at lowest bids" which I'd heard elsewhere is not the best way to go. I was always suspicious of it.

Looking forward to see the results in my campaigns!

Kenneth Rearden

...but this is quite old right? Doesn't that mean most of it's out of date? Knowing how much Google mixes it up...

I bought it when it came out. I'd say it's still relevant. I can't remember every detail but I think it pretty much still applies today at least the vast majority of it. It's not just about tricks but what people should really be doing to build a long term business. Yea, I'd say it's all still relevant.

But, .X. has the Affiliate Black Book coming out in a week and a half so maybe you'd want to hold out and buy that if you want to see what he's about. I don't know him that well but he seems like a cool guy and he gives good info.

        Hi Matt -

The product was originally released in
2007 but most of what I do is built on
solid fundamentals. Aside from the fact
I now build all of my squeeze pages on
a WP platform, not much has changed
about how I do business (except for a
        few new tricks ;-)

        X

PS - Kenneth, I'm always pleased to
hear from happy campers. That's my
goal. All the best to you.

          Is Scientific Advertising still relevant?

          You bet it is.
Kenneth... I see your point but not quite the same thing is it?

X -- good to hear it's still relevant, I'm looking forward to your Affiliate Black Book too - and you're a great copywriter (assuming you write your own copy?)

Matt...my analogy is not the best. What I'm basically trying to say is that a product may not be the "newest kid on the block" but can still contain very effective information.

The way to look at it is are you getting your money's worth?

The answer is a definite "Yes" in this case.

95% of it is still relevant and really good.

Traffic Secrets 1 is even older and still contains killer information.

    On this topic...

I have to second what Kenneth has said about the Black Book DVDs. I purchased them quite some time ago and they are simply phenomenal. Best affiliate marketing info I have found (and I've bought loads of stuff).

X has been one of few that consistently over-delivers...not only in his products, but in the stuff he recommends too. If you're not on his list, you're missing some real gems.

Yes it's quite old but I still like it.

Actually, I'm waiting for the X' affiliate black book to be released. But hopefully, it isn't redone of his previews products; which are still applicable nowadays.

Why can he get in trouble? Unless there was a stipulation when he bought it that the course couldn't be resold why can't he sell it? He didn't say he's selling a copy. Maybe he's selling the original. Care to explain? I have some courses here I don't use that might want to sell on ebay. Is there something I should know?

My assumption was/is that it is for personal use only and copyright material, if my assumption is wrong I stand to correct myself, hope it clears my position here,

If I buy a music CD, a book or whatever, which is copyrighted material, but then I don't want it anymore and sell it to a friend or sell it on ebay I'm not breaking the law as far as I know (unless it's a used mattress :-) at least in the USA. Even if the DVD or CD or whatever says not for resale it's still legal for me to resell it at least one person to another and online. Lots of used music and book stores exist, too but I think if you sell used items to a business, which of course has the intent to resell, then in some US states it gets more complicated but that is not the case here.

If it's illegal then there's mostly illegal activity on ebay. People sell all kinds of stuff there. He didn't say he was making a copy for himself and selling the original or keeping the original and selling the copy. He doesn't own the copyright but he owns the physical product that is in his possession since he bought it. So, bolding copyright material in your message to get my attention doesn't change anything. It may make a difference with digital products. I don't know because digital products are a gray area as far as I know but the Black Book DVDs is a physical product.

Now you admit to making an assumption so I guess you can't give me answers even though you were speaking as a matter of factly at first. I asked you because I'm no expert and your comment made me wonder. I really wanted to know and was hoping you'd explain so that if I were to sell some courses I have here that I don't want anymore I wouldn't be getting myself into trouble. But it appears you can't. That's all.

Since google's changes as of late. How much of the dvd's content is now obsolete? Is it still worth buying? Or should I wait until the release of his new Black Book?
