You can create a couple backlinks in your bio-box and point them anywhere you want.

Your article will be placed in at least a couple hundred article directories to be sure.

But...

You'll have to wait 7 to 14 days for the service to kick in.

Excellent posts, external linking via a site tends to be the best way to go. I've found with isnare you can submit articles only cost a minimal free and you can create backlinks in your bio-reference box and point them to your webpage or product if you want. Great exposure as your article will be placed in at hundreds of article directories. On the downside though, you have to wait a week or two for the service to kick in. Cheap though, per article and worth it in the long run! Hope this helps!

I am also using nextgenlinks and neurolinker and both of them are quite good as I have seen an increase in traffic.

How about when building links for offline biz or ecommerce businesses? Which linkbuilding services would anyone recommend?

I have to admit that I have often been disappointed with the results when I have outsourced link building but find it so boring (and time consuming) that I am thinking of trying to outsource it again so this is a useful list - thanks gang!

-Submit to Ezine articles. Only one backlink to inner page.
-Submit to social Bookmarking, but just a few article
-Post in my other blog(s) which is related to my topic.
-Pay people to do follow commenting(Which is dirt cheap in DP). It's not quality link building, but it's nice to boost backlinks as long you don't overdo it and vary the anchor text
-Sponsor a Wordpress themes Sponsor Links or Designer links related to your nice made by designer. They made money that way and we can make links that way too

Some good ideas so far, I think the only link sources that I've paid for a press release submissions to paid press release sites as they are always much more reliable than the standard free sources and always get me a great amount of traffic!

What I don't like with many of these services is that they keep your link up only as long you keep paying the monthly fee. Once you stop paying they remove your links and all your work was wasted and your rankings will drop like a stone. What if the service goes out of business?

I prefer to stick with things where this can't happen happen, like article submissions to EZA, UAW and Articlemarketer and also using Web 2.0 properties.

Certainly. However, you will not get by with social bookmarking alone.

For an effective SEO campaign, getting a VARIETY of different TYPES of links is a great combination of powerful rankings over time.

This means not ONLY social bookmarking.

This means not ONLY LinkVana.

This means a combination of SEVERAL [TYPES] of links.

Which of these link building services are permanent even after cancellation?

How are you able to determine that the same sites are getting the articles first? Since publishers indicate how many articles in a given category they wish to review/accept per day, it doesn't seem like the same sites should always be first in the queue for new articles.

If I upload 10 articles in a single category for distribution, are you saying that the same sites are always being offered my articles first? It doesn't seem like this should be possible if sites are randomly being sent articles for possible publication.

Of course, I can see if happening for some obscure category for which there aren't many sites in the system, but not for major categories.

I totally agree with your first statement. If I have to add code to my sites, I don't even look at a backlink service.

Re: Linkvana, what code are you referring to? There is no code to add to one's site. I don't disagree with you that any network could eventually be sniffed out by Google, but in Linkvana's case, I don't think it would ever be related to code as their sites on which your blurbs of text and links are placed are just plain Wordpress blogs.

Would you be willing to share which service this was? Since this is the review section, I think it is fine if you post your findings from using the service even if it is negative.

I'm also using the Paul and Angela backlink packets and outsourcing that to a guy overseas for $2/hr. Found him on Odesk. There were over 50 people that applied for the job.

Anyone uses Reciprocal Manager?

A few months ago I launched a new blog and joined with a group of other marketers to form an experimental bookmarking group. It was very successful and after just a few weeks most of the blogs had several hundred backlinks with pageranks of 2-4. All the blogs were brand new at the time we started.

Ken the person who formed the group is now offering limited spots in his Backlink WSO.

I have used both My Article Network and Free Traffic System with much success.

For those who can afford to outsource but hesitate to use the paid link building services do what I do. Subscribe to Angela Edwards monthly package at $5 a month, do the first months work yourself then hire a local homeworker as an apprentice and train him/her to take over.

The reason for doing it yourself initially is to learn how to build effective links. Angela's tutorials every month make it a breeze. Then you can train your apprentice. That way you keep it in house and under control, you avoid the boring stuff and you create local employment. You also have someone to take over some of your other more mundane tasks as you grow.

I gather Angela is now working with another link package provider (Paul?) and together they will also do the work if you prefer, though I've not used that service yet.

I use Linkvana (147$)and very happy with it although I hate paying additional 2$ for outsourcing posts and I try to do them by myself. I know that needanarticle.com will have a new service charging 1.75 soon. Anyone has another idea to cut on costs? Also, how is Neurolinker?

If I am not wrong, Neurolinker will keep links until you are a member. if you cease to be a subscriber, all backlinks are deleted. That makes me wary of them, though the price looks really compelling.

7 days to try LinkVana to see if it works or not?

paid links are not a good strategy..google can penalize for that.

Great thread. Have tried UAW, but only for a short while. I am part of Ken's social bookmarking 101 and have got some great traffic, even from a site that was deindexed by google, but got to the top of Yahoo and Bing for .co.uk out of several millions and that must have been due to SB101, as I did nothing else!

Google has announced in their official webmaster blog that they are clamping down on blog commenting spam.

This is where people comment on blogs purely to drop a link into the comment, or through entering a URL into the homepage field when submitting the comment.

The implication from the google blog post is that they are now able to monitor un-natural commenting patterns, and link them to a single target URL. What they do with that information is not clear, but if you are building links through blog commenting, then the clear message is to tone it down or find other ways to build links, else risk a penalty against your site.

I used SocialMarker.com to start off with. It's totally free, but be warned, some of the links don't seem to work. However, once you've signed up to all the sites (ie propeller.com, digg.com, etc), it's pretty easy to submit to numerous sites.

The good news is that a link found on one of the sites (I think it's mixx.com) bookmarking one of my webpages is ranking HEAPS higher than the actual page itself! WTF??!?

Aren't link farms Black hat? I believe you will get banned by Google Adsense if they catch you posting links from link farms. Not good!

for those who don't want to outsource, a combination of these tools are great because it will always be better to have links from different sources.

From my experience, when I was starting out, the sites that I sent links to with different types of links always ranks faster and better than sites that I concentrate using only one type of link.

Of course, linking structure will always be important. Always have a plan and consistently create links.

1waylinks is decent, they can get you like 350 backlinks x 3 each month, so more than 1,000 backlinks.

pauls backlinks were awesome, they're strong but take time to get.

angelas backlinks seemed to be the most powerful and they're really cheap.

I've used the majority of the services listed above, and frankly wasn't very happy with the way the systems are setup. There's too much "magic fairy dust" in all of their methods.

The fact is, if you want good backlinks, you need to have relevant articles, written by hand, with 1 or 2 dofollow links.

Once you start stuffing keywords into articles that aren't relevant, and have more than 5 links in a 200 word article, the quality of your links is greatly diminished.

Here's what we do:

- Use our PageRank 3 blog network, write an article 200 words long, include a link to the targeted site and link to another random article we're creating
- Create a new web 2.0 site, write an article 200 words long, include a link to the targeted site and link to another random article we're creating
- Write a 200 word article on EZA, etc. and include a link to the targeted site and link to another random article we're creating

In doing this, we're creating 119 new articles on our blogs, web 2.0 sites, and article directories AND giving each of them a backlink, which helps with getting the URLs indexed and passing link juice.

ALSO, all of our content is new, unique, written by hand, and only used once. We send our clients a full report of all the work we do when it's done so you can continue to use these web 2.0 sites we create to continue to build value for your site.

I've used a lot of back linking services when trying to get some rankings for my affiliate sites, including the numerous "backlink packets" that you can get on here and premium services such as UAW, Linkvana and others.

And after spending $100's on back link services, I found that the best way to achieve a top ranking is to not just focus on one of these services, but to use a variety. You need to spread out all your links and use a variety of services to attain links from blogs and other sites.

The best thing I have done for my sites is to build up the "low quality" links of my site with the likes of Article submissions & directory links... and then use higher quality services to get the extra boost my sites need to get onto the first page.

These are the services I have tried and what they can do:

- Angela & Paul's backlink packets
These are okay for some 5/10 quality links. You basically get a bunch of forums and a few high PR blogs. The problem with forums is that you can really only get a good link on your 'profile' page which almost always has 0 PR. Also, you have to spend hours getting these links.

- 3WayLinks.net
This is a pretty good way to build up the lower-quality links to your site by basically initiating 100's of link exchanges with other web masters automatically. This service costs $47 a month but can add a lot of SEO boost to your sites.

- Typing "keyword + your gravatar icon" into Google
Great way to get instant blog comments. Most of the pages you find with this method will be spammed to hell, but there are a few golden nuggets with some decent PR.

- Directory submissions
Use this link (Free Directory List ) to get high-pr directory listings for free.

- Linkvana
This is a blog network system which basically allows you to get a bunch of one-way high quality links from a series of high quality blogs. The service allows you to build a lot of different quality backlinks to your site and is very effective, but only if you have a series of lower quality links to your site to start with. I tended to use this service to add an extra kick to my sites.

- Social Bookmarks
These can be pretty powerful ways to get link-juice to your site. If you look at this link: 500+ list of dofollow social bookmarking pligg sites with PR | SEO Eazy - you will see a list of social bookmarking sites that have dofollow & PR - the perfect combination for SEO.

- Frontline Autolinks
This is a new service I've been testing and it's basically like Linkvana, where they are offering a series of quality blogs for you to get links from. This service has just been launched and I was fortunate to be a beta tester for it - and so far, it's been a great boost to my business. I think the biggest mistake that people make with getting backlinks is that they forget about why Google likes them. Google treats links as a way to gauage the authority of your website, so the more authoritive and "hard-to-get" links that you can get, then the higher your site will rank.

This either means you can spend years trying to get a lot of links naturally or the trick that most SEO's are using is to just spread out their links through a variety of sites and services, to make it look like a natural expansion of links to your site. I don't think any single backlinking service is the "best" but all have their merits and some will benefit your business more than others.

It seems to me that all Google has to do is to join the service for a couple of months, see where the backlinks are coming from and 'zap' those sites. So it appears a very vulnerable approach to me.

I am using Backlinks solutions and it is one of the better system i have tried. Very similar to Linkvana. The only problem is you can maximum get 30 links a day, so if you have many sites or pages you wanna build backlinks to, you can quickly use your daily quota

SE Nuke is another good one, specially because you can get a good mix of backlinks. It requires a bit of work tho.

I'd like to throw in PayPerPost, as just created 20+ offers for a client, and given that you can get legitimate reviews written about sites for under $20 per link (for PR4), and for articles that will actually drive traffic, they are one of the best resources I suggest for permanent links.

Note that for #9 for Lexorsoft that the url should be lexorsoft.net not .com. The dot com leads to their blog and the dot net to their sales page and credit details info which I think is what most people are interested in.

There are may alternatives, probably the closest is linkvana but it's pretty expensive at $147 per month.

Google is on the war path re: link building networks (see demise of Build My Rank) - so, as others have pointed out, I would use link building networks with caution. You are better outsourcing the work - and having it done manually through oDesk or similar outsourcing services.

You may try using my senuke service for long term and I will be creating links on regular basis.
