Ryan Deiss - Your First $1000!

Just wondering if anyone did this first time around. I like Ryan Deiss's stuff. I really liked his last launch.

I have no intention of getting this. But I do have some questions arount it:

1. Can you make it online without having to buy a big ticket course like this to get you started ?

I read something from a guy on here, how he felt you should save most of your cash for outsourcing.

I agree with this but I am always swayed by these type of courses as I feel it may cut out a lot of the time you waste on silly mistakes (although these are part of the learning process).

By the way, I am not dissing this course ... just using it to ask a question (Should a newbie fork out this much money to get started).

Yes, but you have to account for the
learning curve involved. I have seen
people with a strong direct marketing/
sales background come online and do
well, quickly. But if you don't have
that kind of background you're going
    to have to learn someway.

I'm sure people will say "you can get
everything you need for free on a
forum" - there's a lot of info around,
but knowing the crap from the cream
    is the challenge.

    Until you've DONE something yourself
and you KNOW it works, paying someone
else to do it isn't a very good strategy.

      Hey Mr X

Thanks for the feedback. I am not dissing this course as I like Ryan Deiss and would like to be able to afford something like this. What I am asking is as a newbie should you fork out 2997 on a course or concentrate on smaller packages first and try to learn your way up.

I hear what you are saying on the outsourcing part. You need to come up with a strategy first.

I would like to buy a proper course to work through. I am an SEO guy trying to get a few things going from an online point of view. I would like a good course to buy. But would like to spend under $500 on this. I wouldnt be looking for a get rich quick scheme. Something that just takes you through the process once i.e. from market research to putting up a site. The problem is most of the products I have sampled are poor ...

Any suggestions on something that is worth looking at ...

I hear what you are saying when you talk about getting started and the expenses that go along with learning IM.

I too struggled with this sometime ago and my advice is this.

Pick an area where you want to focus your energies in. Blogging, social marketing, etc.. Don't try to learn everything at once. FOr a period of time, only focus on learning 1 thing. You don't have to master it but learn it enough to implement it. Then implement it before learning something else.

Find out who the top people are in that particular niche and join their newsletters and blogs. Look for things like how often are they posting and what writing style do they have.

Look through this forum and find people who provide quality post, check out their sig, and if you feel they provide quality information, check out their WSO.

I've had good success purchasing WSO and learned very valuable information. More so than some of the products (BS) I've purchased over the last 18 months.

A few of the products that I thought were definitely worth the money that wont break the bank:

Craig Beckta - SAC 1 & 2 (1 was better for generating traffic to your sites)

Chris X - Day Job Killer (although its been out a while - definitely worth it)

Squidoo Cash Machine was pretty good for creating Squidoo lenses that will appeal to more people than 80% of what's there now. Very detailed.

Howie Schwartz - usually has firesales for videos relating to social media - good stuff

        Hope that helps

You can get the "Yourfirst1000" program for $497. Scroll down to option 3. The course is decent if you do what it says. You do not need to spend the extra $2,500 for a squeeze page and a recorded interview to get what is needed from the course. It stands on it's own without that add-on.

I would spend a few days searching the Warrior Forum personally before you spend any money. There is plenty of great FREE information right here.
