Possible hosting options

Hi Warriors,

I've finally decided to take the plunge and create my own product, which I've managed to finish. I'm now in the process of trying to find a reliable hosting solution.

I'm looking for advice on finding reliable hosting that is not too expensive that includes a (WHM) web hosting manager allowing for unlimited domain names. I'm trying to steer clear of add-on hosting.

I've done a fair amount of research on various hosting companies, and I'm overwhelmed with information overload. So I thought I'd turn to you good folks who've been there and done that and can offer some suggestions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

  • I have been happy with DataWebPro. They have a choice of plans a reasonable prices and a WHM.

    • Me too.

I have several hosts but I've been with them the longest for WHM hosting.

    • I've been with DataWebPro for many years. One of their servers hosting quite a few of my sites went down last week. I've posted several tickets to their help desk and even called them but have gotten no response. I've gotten to know Steve Hetrick and know this is very unlike him or his team.

Does anyone know if something has happened to this company?? Any information would be very much appreciated at this point!!

  • HostGator is popular around here. Their reseller plans with WHM cost $24.95 per month, but if you want to spend less than that check out this list of cheap reseller plans.

    • I agree hostgator support is fantastic .

You can speak too a real person through live support almost straight away.

They have some really great plans going at the moment.

Personally i would check them out

    • Hostgator does have a great support team, but I've found that they allow way too many sites on one server. Most other budget hosts probably do the same thing though, so they're not that bad for the price. Just remember, "You get what you pay for."
  • Hi Jody - Me too.

I've always had decent responses from Steve over the years but more and more recently it's only when I ask "why are all my sites down?" or "why doesn't email work on my sites?" that I get any information about the problem that's happening.

I'm actually going to move away from them soon because of this.

    • Wow, so it's not just me! I hope he's ok but right now I'm losing money. I just sent him a huge payment renewing hosting for a full year. He even told me recently he currently has about 1500 hosting customers. If anyone else knows anything about what's going on and can share it, I'm sure there's many of us who would greatly appreciate it!!

Steve has been a huge help to me in the past and I'm willing to wait a little longer if I know someone is one top of things but this dead silence over the past week is killing me.

  • Today I saw the sales and customer support sites are down. I knew if must have been something serious. I agree with you. I'll miss him as well.

    • That's really sad.

Does this mean they're out of business? Are our sites gone for good? I have a lot of domains hosted with them still and they're all down. (and all the related emails of course) this is very bad and losing me money every day now.

  • I moved all my business from Hostgator to Bluehost.
  • Although HostDime is not unlimited in anything and a bit more exspencive, I'd say HostDime is probably the most DEPENDABLE company I have ever worked with. I used them for my business myself. Highly recommended. Check out Hostgator if that is to expensive for you.
