Have any Warriors Had Success With Live Chat Software? Which ones are good?

Hi Warriors

Looking to implement live chat software on a website, and have looked at the following 2 companies :

websitealive.com
kayako.com

They claim to offer :

You can see what page your visitors are on
Find out where your customers are coming from and the search engine terms they use to find your site
Alive Chat Works Where You Do - On Your PC, Mac, iPhone, Blackberry, Android, iPad, and More
Facebook and Twitter live chat integration.

Has anyone had experience with either one, or what other programs do you recommend?

Basically we are trying to reduce bounce rate, and make sure we maximize every customer that comes to this site. Thanks!

Sorry I have no idea. Have you looked at an online call center. What I do know is content is king and if you have great content that people will stay on your site longer. Also the cost of having someone on call 24/7 can run high.

  • Thanks for the reply Ken, It wouldn't run 24/7 there will be an "offline, please leave a message" message. We just want the ability to talk to customers one on one live, and since it is a local business and they will be coming in the store ( that is the goal) we are not looking to outsource this or go to a call center.

I use them (comm100) on several of my sites it is good, especially because they are free.
A point they should work on however is loading speed, I always make it my mission to get my pages load super fast and when I have comm100 on my sites it is always to reason whats slows everything down the most (them and sharethis if present).

Also I haven't looked at updates recently but they could improve the way 'offline is showed' by NOT showing it because now an offline image which is located on your own server still generates various look ups to their servers slowing everything down very unnecessary.

I have used coffee cup. I try not to make it too intrusive, don't want a popin saying chat now or anything it annoys me. I do think it helped with that website I used. I do think some sites should not have it.

I think this is what the site is for Sophia, to network and learn. If someone is looking for something, don't be shy about offering it to them.

I've been using providesupport.com for several years. I can't recall ever having a problem with the service -- it just works like it should.

It gives you the user location, local time, IP address, search terms, current page and several other bits of information.

Compared to many other services, their rates are lower, especially for multiple users.

I highly recommend checking out Olark.

          From Olark | Features:
          • Use Olark anywhere!
Chat with visitors on your website from your desktop, your laptop, your iPhone, or your Blackberry. We work with standard chat (IM) clients (like iChat, Pidgin, and Meebo) and services (Google Talk and Jabber) which means YOU get to decide what software to use.
          • Monitor visitors and initiate chats
Salespeople need lots of information right at their fingertips. That's why we provide that information right inside the buddy list, unlike our competitors, allowing you to start chatting with a visitor even if they haven't messaged you.
          • Know your users
Olark lets you know all sorts of useful information about your users in real-time.
            For example:
            • Visitor name, email, etc. through optional pre-chat form or integration with your current login system
            • Visitor page location (know exactly when they're on an important page!)
            • Referring site
            • Have they been to your site before?
            • Geo-location (where on Earth are they from?)
          • Simple Integration
Get full Olark integration by pasting a short bit of JavaScript.
          • Continue chats across pages and off-site!
Chats persist as visitors move through your site and even off-site when a visitor follows an external link!

  • Like Sanjon said some posts ago, I've tried Coffecup Live Chat a few times ago for my italian website, and it was working good. But now it has some years, and I don't know its impact.

Anyway, you will find it on Coffeecup website, adding /live-chat/ after the .com (this is not an affiliate link, but direct link to Coffeecup website).

    See you soon,
    Alessandro Zamboni

It also helped me manage the enquiries from prospects much better that I could in outlook. I can definitely recommend it if you are looking to do the same.

I use the live chat module in my help desk system called FocalScope. You can read more about the specific features of their live chat module here FocalScope . You can even test it out on your site with their trial.
