Just got back from an Anthony Morrison "Make Money On The Internet" seminar

The Anthony Morrison "Make Money On The Internet" seminar is making it's way through my area (Fort Myers, FL) this week. I went to it to kill a boring Wednesday night.

I'm sure everyone has seen his infomercial. He reminds me of the younger brother on the old TV show Numbers and "Mr. Universe" in the Serenity movie.

His basic pitch was for PPC ads on Yahoo to affiliate products. They also showed a short video that looked like an email submit ad on Facebook that was bringing in about $80 a minute as they kept refreshing the page.

They have got their presentation down good. They offered all kinds of things, including setting you up with a coach that you could call the next morning (after the 3 day bootcamp which is what they were selling) that would stay on the phone with you until opened an actual affiliate account with a merchant and had a PPC ad up and running.

A lot of the people (mostly elderly) were eating it up and racing back to the table to pay the $3000 for the 3 day bootcamp for 2 people. That included the price for the 3rd day that covered Mobile Marketing.

I have to admit they didn't say anything wrong during the seminar, but they didn't tell the whole story and made it sound easier than it is. They didn't even touch on the cost of running a PPC campaign and how few campaigns are successful.

I came back and did a search for reviews and there are a lot of bad ones. It looks like after the bootcamp they start coming after you with hard sell phone calls to buy coaching programs and websites from them.

I don't think any Warriors with any experience would buy their stuff, but be careful of your friends and family that might go.

    It's typical:

The only real money to be made is actually the sales made for the "boot camp" (which translates usually into the boot being inserted into the attendees' butts).

The suckers in the peanut gallery get nothing.

But these modern day "miracle" revivals are a fact of life. And people will continue to pay somebody to tell them that their "dream" is possible and around the corner if they "only do this and that".

The ironic thing is there is enough free information on this forum and the 'net in general to make a small fortune.

You're either a sheep or a wolf (to quote THAT movie).

Wow, that definitely sounds underwhelming. Oh well, if it makes someone do something, it may be worth it.

Oh yeah, I once went to something similar like that. At the end of the seminar, the guy tried to sell all his books and audio tapes in a $4000 package. What nonsense! How are we gonna make money if we are $4k in debt?

What's the bet that many of those poor saps forking over the $3000 really can't afford it, and some may even be spending their last reserves buying into a dream.

You are correct the internet is full of people calling him a scammer, so why a potential investor does not do their due diligence is beyond me.
You have to ask yourself how the heck to people like him sleep at night, he must know that he is selling a fraud?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Yeah the hardsell is actually on the backend. I have read a copy of the script their boiler room people use to suck in bigger investments for "coaching".

Always makes me wonder how people have such a hard time selling "good" things for hundreds of dollars when others are selling crap for thousands upon thousands.
