Sorry, it's that Wordpress theme discussion AGAIN!

I have a little knowledge of customizing themes, even dare to play in the Theme Editor on a good day! BUT, man I am tired of trying to find a really nice template that I can easily customize.

I found FTemplates.com and some of them looked GREAT, I particularly liked FThemes.com Theme Demonstration. However there are no tutorials of any kind, far less videos showing the basics. The admin logic beats me!

I am not interested in Adsense at all, just want a really nice theme for a business blog ... but one with SOME level of tutorials to help customize it!

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I really like the Studio Press themes for blogging. Their site is: StudioPress - Premium WordPress Themes

You can purchase a single theme, or buy them all for a very decent price, which includes all the new themes that they release. There is great support, too, and a user forum.

Thanks for that Becky. They do seem to offer some tutorials, which is a key thing for me. However their navigation is poor, for example I only want to look at 3 column themes, but need to wade through the entire portfolio in order to check that and in many cases it's still not possible to tell without viewing in detail. Nope, doesn't rock my boat.

I DO greatly appreciate your help though.

      Thanks

Adrian, all of their themes can be set to 1, 2, or 3 columns. One of the things that I like about Studio Press is the versatility with their themes.

        Good luck in your search!

If you find one that you like, could you please post it here? I'm always up for checking out different themes, so that I have recommendations to give to people.

        Thanks!

Becky, I cannot thank you enough for making me go back and look into StudioPress some more. I completely missed the substantial point that this is a series of templates built onto the Genesis platform/theme. I have spent a couple of hours going through the documentation and it's very thorough - exactly what I was looking for!

The custom aspects go way beyond what I could need/achieve but I can see the flexibility is substantial - and there's even proper support. There are 50 themes to use as a basis for customization and the Showcase/Portfolio of customer sites (over 1000) shows the amazing diversity that people have achieved from these.

I have stopped searching for a solution - you have provided an ideal one for me and I am very grateful.

          Thanks

Adrian, I'm glad that I was able to help. As with any theme, there is a bit of a learning curve, and what I like is the support that is available to help answer any questions. I've been more than happy with StudioPress, and use it for most of my sites.

            Have fun!

My first and generally only stop is themeforest.net.

Lots of professional themes out there.

However, be aware that themes come from designers who sell their themes on the platform, which means they aren't equal in term of tutorial/set up guide. But most of them come with an explanation file.

The Platform Wordpress theme is pretty nice and easily customizable if you like full control over your site.
