Best affordable ebook software

hi Guys,

i am in the process of writing my 1st ebook with some free software that converts to pdf...but it has limitations....can any one recommend some reliable feature rich software please.

      I found this worked well including creating hyperlinks. It doesn't have all the security
      features Acrobat has but it met my needs.

    i recommend OpenOffice - its free, fast and easy to use and convert to pdf in a snap
    It take a little work to learn more advanced options like how to make a clickable index etc if thats what you want. Its great

    Thanks for the responses guys and i am sorry if I have broken any forum rules!?

    I already have free pdf publishing software but I want to be able to lock certain pages that will only be viewable on payment of subscription....the main ebook will be given away free.....if possible i would also like to be able to sell as a rebrandable book.....am I asking too much? ...cost needs to be no more than $100 or there abouts
