Newbie getting so confused...

I have been looking and purchasing various different products for about 18 months now - lost track of how many misleading videos I have seen, fallen for and spent my money on.
I am looking for guidance from experienced users of any good products, good methods and tips on what to try - I don't want to make a fortune, just to recoup the hundreds of dollars I have wasted on the 'so called' money making schemes.
Any one got any tips?
Thanks

I'm glad you're going away from the "shiny object" syndrome. Honestly, half, if not more, of the products on all IM forums are a waste of money. Now that you're not looking for shiny objects, take the time to really learn what the WF has to offer.

There's no shortcut to success, or even to recoup the hundreds of dollars you lost. Take the time to develop the skills that this forum has the ability to teach you and you'll figure out soon enough how to recoup that money AND make much more.

Patience to learn is a start. Determination will guide you through your patience. Persistence will lead you to your goals.

    Good luck pal

Focus is the key, if you have something that has worked at all then focus on that and make that work better. it's too easy to get distracted!

Bouncing around from idea to idea can lead you into a no mans land for sure. I agree with Cyberdog1 that focus is needed. You will need a good blog or place to be recognized on, and hopefully you can settle into one area of business, be it affiliate marketing, PLR, Adsense or whatever. Just take a step back, focus on what you like to do and are good at (you can always get better!) and work on that. Try to locate a good mentor in your chosen area and be sure it's one that gives you lots without constantly draining your bank! There is lots of free learning to be had out there..

    Hi,

Don't waste money on bad information products.

A simple and popular online business model is to:
    1. Pick a niche
    2. Build a website with content, lead magnet, and opt-in, so that you can build a list.
    3. (Make your own product, with 100 % commissions, so that you can get affiliates to generate traffic for you)
    4. Drive traffic to your website, get opt-ins, so that you build your list and your business.
    5. Manage your list (build relationship with your list, send quality valueable things to your list)
    6. Monetize your website and list (AdSense, affiliate offers, CPA, subscriptions, own products/services etc. etc.)
    7. Grow your website with new content and more traffic.

Niche research? How to build the list? What's the right way to design the website? How to manage the list? What is the best lead magnet? Writing great content? How to get a lot of traffic? SEO? PPC? How to make a product? Sales letter? Copywriting?...?

Answer to these questions are freely available online, just use Google and WarriorForum.

If you have money to spend, you can outsource all or some of these tasks instead of trying to learn and do all yourself.

You can also search on Google or use WF on what services to use, how to outsource etc.

Outsource Blitzkrieg 2 provides a list of services in different areas, if you have money to spend.

Here's another piece of advice I'd say to start with:

It's been my experience that when new IM-ers pick a niche, they tend to pick a niche that is too broad, and therefore too competitive. A huge key for newbies is this - you need to learn how to properly pick a niche first!

I think broadly focused niches are what lead to "shiny object syndrome."

I picked something I love - Orlando theme parks. I also picked a super competitive niche so it's taken years to show any results.

You really, really, need to learn how to pick and narrow your niche. The rest will come relatively easily if it's narrow, focused and has a specific customer base with unfulfilled needs.

Just look at the crap that is promoted as WSOs. I mean it's disgrace. Take a look at the link below and you will get some insight into the IM niche tactics:

Its a good thing you finally realized you were chasing rainbows. You need to restart your gameplan first before actually asking us what products are good.

First, you need to define what do you want and what do you know. Which niche interest you and what do you know best.

Second, overview what you got. Eliminate things outside of your focus group or niche.

Now its time to choose your products. Find products you know you can sell and you know will sell. Set up a website which follows your overall plan.

SEO and Link Building. Promote your products through your website by SEO. Promote your website through Linkbuilding. It will be a long and hard battle but hang in there.

Try to monetize your website through the use of advertisements. This can give you revenue while building your contents and products.

Lastly, Expand your website when it reaches a certain size and generates a steady traffic.

My outline is not really complete and misses a lot of things but the idea is there, grabs it and research for yourself.

kevjsy, just keep at it. Remember that if it were easy, then everyone would do it. I am in the same boat you are in, struggling to get it rolling - but not quitting will give you your first advantage. Stop spending money and concentrate on what type of marketing interests you.

    Hi Kevjsy,

Yes, I have a tip for you.

Consider "Adsense $100k Blueprint". It will educate you properly, with accurate information, and provide you a strong foundation plus a time-tested & proven 'Blueprint' for building a successful IM business.

Read the Warrior review, one of the longest, and longest-standing, product reviews on the Warrior Forum, almost entirely positive (http://www.warriorforum.com/internet...blueprint.html).

If you're willing to make the effort, this will do everything you had hoped, and a lot more. And I'm willing to 'put my money where my mouth is': if you browse through the review thread and read the sales page, and feel you could apply yourself, I'm willing to give you the entire program on 'conditional purchase' - you can pay for it AFTER you've went through it, implemented it, AND had success with it.

Listen to Michael. He's standup and his products are the best I've seen. I've made money with them also. He is one of the best people in this industry simply because his series of 10k courses are always updated. I don't believe he's released a brand new course. He's in this for the long-term and one to really listen to.

Here is my first and biggest piece of advice for you, UN-subscribe to every list your on except for 1 or 2...

    Then,

    FOCUS focus focus.....

On one thing at a time....

I have been where you are and it is a sickening feeling, every time you think somethings gonna happen with the new cool product, you realize you just put dollars in someone elses pocket and you became poorer...AGAIN !

As mentioned above in another members post, your niche is primary, it should more or less be a niche in a niche in a niche so to speak, based on how saturated everything is...

    Example:

    * Forget the chickens (make money online niche) there are way to many...

    * They have eggs though (email marketing, video marketing, facebook marketing etc.) but there are a lot of them too...

    * What about the egg carton ? not to bad, but still a bunch of stores that are full of them..

    * How about the guy that delivers the cartons ? Hmmm, lot less competition, maybe I'll deliver the eggs...???

    * Well, What about the guy that keeps the delivery guys truck on the road so he can deliver the cartons ? Wow, hecca lot less competition here, I think this is good, hardly anyone else doing it...

Thats a crazy analogy but its the truth, dig deeper than the surface and you will always find some buried treasure..

I have struggled too but made my first dollar thanks to a wso here, but also lost lots of dollars on 10 times more wso's here.

Really its it the process of learning and you can do most of that free thanks to the internet. but sometimes it takes help and to be pointed in the right direction which for some odd reason, most IM'ers dont ever want to help unless there getting paid.

Which really does suck when all you need is one tiny bit of guidance or 5 minutes of someones time, and if there makin all that money they claim, you'd think they could cough up 5 minutes..

Dude, email me at geoscash1@hotmail.com and I'll work with you and help you get on track..no strings and no you dont have to pay me, I'd rather know I helped someone.

    Geo

P.S. I dont know Michael, but that is finally what I have been lookin for, someone with some courtesy and willingness to help someone else out without expectation, Kudos to Michael, I am a new fan of you bro.

You must focus! Easier said than done when you're new to IM. Also, I would like to add what I tell people I mentor. This is a huge industry, and whether people tell you it or not: there is enough bread to go around for everyone. Don't fall for the "Get on this before it's gone" thinking. It will lead you to poverty. You've already learned the number 1 mistake to learn as a newbie: Stop chasing the new and shiny WSOs out there. Other than that, there is a lot of great advice here.

Few tips on how to validate information online, use deduction method where you need to gather all information about what you need (this will keep you focus),then search for the terms and info about it, seek good reviews and ask question before come up with certain conclusion.

Very simple advice for you if you want to make cash online - Sell something.

Decide what your best assets are and sell something based on them.

For example - If you're a great writer, create a blog and sell advertising space, write product reviews, or write articles or copy (and get paid for them), create PLR niche article packs... The list goes on...

If you're a great designer then offer a design service, create a design product (tutorials or graphics packs or membership site)... Again the list goes on...

Then once you've decided on what direction you want to take only buy products that will enhance your business.

Once you start making decent money you can think about taking you business in different directions and building it. But until you reach this point, make a decision on what direction you want to make and stick with it until you make money.

Based on your experience you have an opportunity to start a review site of the stuff you have bought and discussing what is good and bad about it. Register a domain like dollarwsoreviews.com and go for it. Buy every WSO you can then charge $1 for access to the review. I'd be happy to pay $1 to save $7.79 on a crap product
