2Checkout: Reliable Alternate of PayPal or SCAM?

Hi friends,

I want to sell products on my website & for that I need a RELIABLE Payment processing service. I read some threads on WF supporting that 2Checkout is a blessing for those people, where PayPal don't work. Well, PayPal don't work in my country as well. So I've 2CO available as an option. I went to Google to see reviews on 2CO & Sign Up for 2CO account. But while googling it, I noticed some blogs on the page 1 of google were explaining that 2CO is very risky & beware of it. They said sometimes if you purchase via 2CO, you'll payment will be marked as fraud or whatever. While in the same forum some also explained, that it was fantastic for them as seller.

Now I got confused. Please guys share your experience, Is 2CO really a Reliable alternate to PayPal, or its a scam? Let me know, if you ever had any issues with 2Checkout. (From Buyers & from Sellers side)

Thanks.

2CO as absolutely a reliable payment processor.
I don't personaly use it but I have a lot of friends that have used and are still using it.
The only thing that you might want to know is that there is $20/month service fee, Unless u sell for more than $200/month.

Are you sure? Back a few years ago they had no monthly fee, just transaction fees. At least for the small guys.

By the way, SHAB1412: it is definitely not a scam, it's a big company offering a sophisticated payment system. Only that you need lots of scripts, plugins to make it work, pretty much like with ClickBank... They won't give you everything.
2CO also gives plastic debit cards for accounts - if you apply (at least to some country residents it is possible - check if you find yours!)...

2CO is ok, but for buyers they are pretty strict. Once, when I was ordering something for $60, I entered address different than one I used to register my credit card at my bank, and they blocked my money for about 60 days because they thought I'm fraud. After that, I was careful when entering my data, and no problems ever!

Most definitely not a scam! LOL! Where would anyone get THAT idea?? I used 2Checkout way back when they were fairly new (early 2000's), and I found them very professional and secure. I actually would trust them much more than PayPal, and plan to go back to them very soon in fact.

    Hello Shab1412,

2CO is not a scam, they're a thriving company. And there are many "big names" in this industry that trust them.

So that should give you more insight into there authenticity.

    Cheers,

    -Justin

I'm getting convinced now. But I think Sign Up is FREE.

But there is a possible monthly Fee. Can you tell me, if you're selling products using 2CO on your website, do they keep charging you every month, no matter you're making any sales or they charge you only if you make sales?

I was wondering if I sign up now, before setting up my website & putting products on it, just to see the interface of 2CO & attach it with my bank account.

Can we also buy using our 2CO account, just like we use PayPal to buy from any site? or it only works where the seller has put option to use 2CO?

        Many Thanks.

      Can you explain this please.
Does this means, $19.99 is charged, if sales are less than $200. & If sales are over $200, then it will be FREE?

OK. so when they say $200. Do they mean $200 sales is necessary on each website or it should be overall sales amount coming in 2CO account, from all sites?

I mean, say if we're using with 3 websites & total sales from 3 websites a month is $350 & from individual websites, its less than $200 each site.

          In that case:

1). Will they then charge $19.99 per month OR Not? (Being Total sales Over $200)
2). If they do charge, will they charge $19.99 as a whole? or $19.99 individual site?

Also, I've heard that they charge $50 one time payment, to setup 2CO on each site? Is that true?

          Thanks.

I've been using 2CO for years, probably at least 7 or 8 at the bare miminum. As soon as they allowed Canadians anyway.

        Never had a problem.

The "Fraud" flag honestly happens with pretty much any merchant who checks - i.e., if you put your zip or postal code in slightly different than on your statement... example:

(canadian example of a postal code)
        L2E 8W6

        but you enter it as

        l2e 8w6

        it will flag it.

If you enter your phone number as 511-555-9999
        rather than 5115559999

        it can flag it.

It's for seller's security (and buyer's as well!)

No one has ever been able to claim a chargeback that they didn't purchase.
