Hostdeal's Cloudflare...any comments...???

Hey Warriors,

Last year, around the end of October...Richard Madison was
promoting his Cloudflare Unlimited Hosting...

His WSO offer was amazing...

Any comments and/or experiences with his offer?...good or bad??

Just curious...if any of the Warriors here grabbed that and ran with
it...and how it's working out a yr later...

Thanks,

Nile

How are you asking questions if it is good now, yet promoting it on another thread. Read through the WSO's and you'll see the horror stories. I'd recommend using another web host.

It seems to me that you're somehow related to Richard Maddision.

The problem here is that no one reads past the first post. There are only 3-4 hosting companies that advertise here on Warrior Forum that live up to what they offer.

A company offering premium services for "$7 a year" is a red flag, and frankly is a joke.
This is the link to the thread he's referring to:

It is important that you read the thread in it's entirety.

You will see that we experienced two hardware failures on two different servers over two weekends. And our datacenter let us down.

None of that actually matters... What does matter is that we let our customers down. We own that. And we're disappointed.

We answered every post in that thread. We didn't disappear. We addressed the issues.

We're doing better. Our customer support is better. Our servers are better.

Hostdeal is not a small company. We have thousands of customers at Hostdeal not counting our Warrior Forum users.

Let me give you a breakdown of our WF customer base.

Of the 1,426 Warriors that signed up, we had about 7.5% cancel and/or refund.

We cancelled over 40 accounts for abuse. Warez, spam, script abuse, etc... This was very surprising to us. This is about 6-times more than our non WF customers. We were honestly not prepared for this and these abuse accounts affected our server speed. Again - we own this; it was our fault for not being prepared and we have corrected this.

This means that 1,319 still have the hosting. Based upon bandwidth reports over 80% are actively using our hosting - we don't know if the other 20% have never activated their account, or have left. We will know more in November when the hosting plans begin to renew.

In the last 3.5 months, there have been no complaints on the thread. All Hostdeal servers have experienced a 100% uptime (crossing fingers) during June, July, August and September.

That being said, I was disappointed with the WSO because we let the customers down.

While I'll agree with you on some things, y'all had steady issues over a span of 3-4 months, same complaints, all the time.

2 hardware failures, on "2" servers with 1,400+ customers, some with 40+ websites on a single accounts tells me those servers were extremely overloaded, hence the crap performance people complained about.

I completely agree with you on the customer base, as we run WSO's periodically here as well. We've had tons of spam signups, TOS violations, refunds, cancellations etc.

But, I'll stand by my opinions on the time frame of 3-4 months of continuous issues should have sent alarm bells off to spread loads out on more servers. Say 2 RAID arrays, 2 bare metal restores does not take that long. Something does not add up.

I'll end it at that, so we're not bickering on the forum as I know I jumped on the thread once before.

          Thanks for your hosting advice.

We've been providing web hosting for 12 years and we still appreciate that we don't have all the answers.

We partnered with an large expensive datacenter and when we needed their support bringing the server back, they let us down. Twice.

We ran a hosting WSO and at times we executed it poorly.

We let our WF customers down.

We were honest and forthcoming in the WSO thread. We addressed the issues and problems. We refunded beyond the 30-day guarantee period because of the server crashes. We offered three-times the service credit that our TOS required.

We've learned from our mistakes and we're constantly improving.

We have over 1,300 WF members that come up for renewal starting this November. If we're not delivering on the WSO, they will certainly post to the thread and let us know.

All we can do is strive to continue providing the uptime (100%) of the last three months.

Imagine that, another customer back with yet more complaints. Id recommend choosing a more reputable provider with more realistic plans.
