UK web host - recommendations?

UK warriors - are there any UK web hosts that you recommend. I'm very happy with the one I normally use for my UK domains, but they have tight space restrictions.

I have one domain that has its own account and it's outgrown it. It needs to move. I'm looking at fasthosts - but what do other UK warriors use.

I also have a Hostgator account, but would really prefer a UK host for this site.

    I'm from the UK as well and have tried a few different hosts, most are average and don't offer the same level of service and options that Host Gator does.

    I was with one of their partner sites (streamline) and it was a nightmare. They charge for this and that, sites go down, the databases are so slow they are not worth using.

    For me Host Gator is by the far the best host I have found. I don't understand why you want to change?

      I've always had good experience with Vidahost.com in the past.

      Good prices and excellent customer service. Don't be fooled by the .com - they are UK based.

        Ah, thanks for that. I've moved on and I'm now looking at Evohosting.

        The site is currently on a reseller account costing £26 a month! That's why I want to change and I don't want to add it an existing account, it needs its own host as it's a joint venture.

      123-reg were really bad but they've now added live chat and seem to be better.

    They have a DC in UK and their services are resourceful and not costly.

      They're nice people, have a long record of reliability and their customer service is great.

      Before I started my UK-only niche, I did a lot of research into "the best UK host to use for it", and Heart Internet was my conclusion. I've been very pleased with them. (Since I've been using them, I've also seen other Warriors recommend them here). They're probably not the cheapest, but hosting is so low-cost anyway that that doesn't really matter, I think?

    That's not necessarily a bad thing - any promise of "unlimited" is a marketing lie, and hosts with sensible limits tend not to oversell, so provide better overall performance.

    I'm on Heart internet, great price, great support and everything you need is offered to you with Heart internet.

    PLEASE don't use Fast hosts, I have had terrible experiences with them, I had a simple issue and they couldn't even fix it, had to do it myself in the end! Customer support sucks too!

      If you need CPanel based UK hosting to work with some of the automated
      affiliate software available ... then go with the previous info.

      However, if you can install your own scripts/software and can handle
      professional Plesk based cloud hosting, then have a look at
      Unlimited Webhosting Unlimited Web Hosting, Reseller Web Hosting & Domain Names | Unlimited Home .

      I use this as the price is low (£3.30 pm inc Vat), the service/support
      is great and its all based in the UK. The resellers deal might be of interest?
      Also the hosting is exceptionally secure and PCI compliant for onsite
      payment transactions etc. It does have some "one click" install software,
      but like most one-click installers packages including Cpanel, the software
      installed is usually outdated, buggy or unsecure unless you update it
      all afterwards.

      This is the datacentre and not some one man reseller hosting based
      elsewhere in the world ... which could be a factor if selling to the UK
      domestic or local markets
