Butterfly Marketing... Any Success Stories?

Hi all,

As am sure everyone's aware, there's a pretty big launch happening today in our community. Mike Filsaime's giving away his Butterfly marketing software.

My understanding is that it's software that helps you create "viral" websites- that purchasers of your course are then encouraged to step on as affiliates. This results in a lot of "hands off" sales.

I've seen the case studies, and I've read Mike's own case studies, but what Warriors?

Is there anyone on this forum who bought the original software and has had success with it? And would you be kind enough to say how much you made with your butterfly marketing site?

And how did it compare to just doing a "typical" product launch (where you sell something straightaway rather than giving away a free report)..?

Thanks,
George

I bought it when it launched for over $1,000. I launched 4 sites with it in early 2006. Since that time, those sites have gained over 100,000 members, and earned over $100,000 (combined).

Compared to doing a typical product launch, I made less money, but brought in a lot more subscribers over the long term.

Wow... so doing a typical product launch... and "sprinkle in" some of the BFM techniques for the long-term... should be a pretty good strategy.

I'd say that's correct. BM sites and full blown product launches are by no means mutually exclusive. You could certainly to a "typical" launch with a BM site, and get the benefits of both strategies.

One of the very first features of the BM script was the built in affiliate program. This could be very effective during a product launch, because your customers are instantly presented with their own affiliate link, so they can turn around and promote the launch too.

Like Eric, I actually paid $1000 for it when it first launched. That was a LOT of money for me back then (I was a full time college student so not exactly 'flush' with cash).

It was honestly one of the best investments for my business.

Just a couple of my sites have made me well over 6 figures in upfront sales (not counting backend sales and promos to the list) and generated over 50,000 members.

I'm still getting an average of 40-50 optins per day from a couple of sites I haven't touched in months - if not longer.

Just buying the software isn't going to make you rich. You have to apply the concepts and use the script effectively, but as a tool, it's been invaluable to me.

    Hope this helps,

    Richard

I've been trying to get to the site to buy (sig up fo newsletter), but the server is getting pounded!

Update... they pushed the launch back to 4-7... servers must have died with the initial rush.

Due to server problems Mike has guaranteed that everyone who was at the early bird website this morning will still get a free copy of his Butterfly Marketing 2.0 when they order in the next 24 hours or so, even if he has to have more copies produced. He suggest that you try again between 3PM - 7PM EST today.

He also stated that his one time offer is attendance to a Butterfly Marketing seminar to be held in (I think) Las Vegas some time in July. Sounds exciting, I look forward to learning more about this offer. I say I think because I was in another room when he made this announcement and am not positive of all the details.

As of this posting, mike is still giving away one free copy of his butterfly marketing 2.0 course per person. You just have to pay the s&h fee of $29 ($39 internationally), and sign up for his newsletter, which you can cancel if you don't want it.

I ordered butterfly marketing 2.0 on launch day yesterday, march 24th, and the members area said that he will keep up the free offer until the 27th for a few more days.

It also said on the sales page Mike is having 10,000 more copies printed up, on top of the 5,000 they had already. It also said about 10,000 orders had already been placed as of right now, so I'm sure anyone who still wants a copy could get one if they hurry.

As for the other two guys in this thread who said they bought the software awile back and made good money using it, I would have to say I definately see how someone could make alot of money with a great product using this software and the core stratagies behind the software to roll out thier product.
