anybody have any experience using Amasuite by David Guindon

Hi there. I came across this software and it looks like a good tool for doing research on products on Amazon. My main concern is, can you get into trouble with Amazon for using these kinds of tools to research their products? any info appreciated, thanks.

  • I'm in the process of purchasing AmaSuite at this moment. As I always do I bounced over here to search the forums for special pricing and/or reviews.

Obiously I can't yet give feedback on AmaSuite but I've purchased several of Dave Guindon's other software products over the last 7 years and have been very happy with their features, performance and stability. Dave's support has been excellent as well.

I've decided to start recording my experiences with new products I buy. I'll do this with screen capture videos and snapshots. If a product really delivers (or falls short of expectations) I'll have the content needed to publish a legitimate review.

Let me know if you'd like me to publish the info I put together on AmaSuite and I'll do so as I go along instead of waiting.

Hi Christopher, thanks for your willingness to help out, appreciate it. I'm pretty much sold on it, and like you mention Dave Guindon's stuff is very high quality. My only concern is, does Amazon have any issues with people using software to comb their site as an affiliate. I don't want to alienate Amazon, lose an affiliate relation, because I used software that was going through their site in ways that Amazon may not like. That's really what my question was about. I'm sure the software works very well. I"m just wondering if it works "too" well, as far as Amazon is concerned. In any event, I don't need the screen printouts, but other folks here may find it helpful. Thanks again for offering.

So, I'm guessing other than Christopher, nobody uses this program? It seems like a really good tool. Any Amazon experts using this?

        • If you're worried about pinging Amazon for data too often then just connect through a proxy. It doesn't matter how much I don't need to worry about this type of thing, I make all my connections by 1st establishing a VPN link that masks all my traffic on every port, then I go through a proxy chosen at random from a list I receive every morning that contains fresh / tested proxies. When the mood strikes me to get really agressive with a bot or whatever then I do all the above plus run everything on a virtual machine with the MAC address of my NIC set to clone a random server somewhere.

Always remember to hack your DSL or cable modem first. Or get a Virtual Private Server and run all you apps from it. A VPS is going to have a much faster Internet connection and you can lease one for less than $10/mo now. Make sure you buy direct from the the data center and not a punk reseller. If you need a link to a solid provider just let me know. I'm about to start charging for my tech services take advantage while you can.

If you want to be notified when I start showing how to get unlimited domain hosting with UNLIMITED DEDICATED IP ADDRESSES and other juicy tech and marketing tips you can PM me.

Amazon are OK with tools such as this as it uses product data which they supply anyway.

Have you read the WSO thread. There are plenty of testimonials on there.

I am using v2.0.1.0 on windows7 pro. The other 2 programs work fine.

They've got great support, I can tell you that much. I had a problem importing Amazon products with the plugin. Their support staff worked with me in a timely fashion. It took several attempts until we figured out the cause. Even though the problem turned out to be on Amazon's end, Amasuite threw in a free product for my troubles. Now that's good service!

I use this for some keyword/product research.
It's a very good set of tools.
It has simplified and sped up a few things that I was doing manually.

That said - be careful not to get distracted by the tools.
Use just the features that simplify or speed up something that you are already doing.

And disregard the never-ending stream of e-mails.

I've been using this software for a while and I've never had an issue with Amazon and the product. As mentioned above though, if you are still concerned, you could just connect through a proxy. As a user, I can highly recommend the software - it's saved me A LOT of time.

It looks to me that Amazon is blocking some data to AmaSuite users.
After spending some 5 hours trying to get some meaningful results, I found at least 3 things that do not work as intended. With Ap tool, I got product ranking data showing only on few stray records returned from searches, most records show "na" (not available) in ranking column. With A100 tool, instead of product title in search results, I got a "click" link that took me back to Amazon for every product title I wanted to see. Here too, product ranking returned is "na". Well, if I can't see product titles and product rankings, what's the use? I also got a couple of "access violation" errors that I was not expecting. To someone's comment on this thread, if I need to hide my IP address when using this tool, shouldn't I know this before I bought the product? I would not want to jeopardize my Amazon account... not worth it.

I think the intention behind the product is great and it does return search results quickly. The problem appears to be with Amazon blocking the data.

For what it's worth, these are just my results. I own the product, so I'm open to all ideas to make good use of it.
