    Hello,

Yes, List Wire is in fact free, and we have a better delivery rate than a good number of the paid services often recommended here on the forum... and, that's based on independent statistics, and our own monitoring to back it up.

I'm sure someone else will chime in with why using a free autoresponder isn't a good idea, but I've already responded to my critics...

The service now supports over 250,000 account, sending millions of messages, and we've been around for over 2 years with a total of 6 minutes of downtime.

If you want a free autoresponder, there is no better choice... period.

I would like to know what the hidden catch is. Are we sending out branded emails? do we agree to share our list? Something seems wrong.

No, you aren't sharing your list with us... that's insane.

It's YOUR list, we don't send emails to your lists. I can't imagine that anyone would ever agree to that...

The catch is you have to display the logo of Listwire at the end of your emails, and on your capture form. When your visitor subscribes they are sent to paid offers/affiliate offers. And lastly, you must be subscribed to Gary's list, if you unsubscribe your account can/will be terminated.

Alright, let's go through this point by point...

You have to display the List Wire logo at the end of emails. Yes, absolutely true... just like you do with the majority of paid services these days. This includes Constant Contact, iContact, Bronto, InfusionSoft, and many others.

It's also a referral link that benefits you, as the user of our system. I can't go into all the benefits here, but we've had a number of clients add hundreds of targeted, double-optin verified subscribers to their lists, for free, as a result of their referrals from sending the emails they'd be sending anyway.

When a visitor subscribes, they're sent to paid offers/affiliate offers. This is partially correct, partially incorrect. When someone subscribes they're asked to confirm their subscription, after they confirm their subscription they're shown one offer, one time, and that's it. This happens AFTER subscription, and AFTER confirmation, and does not in ANY way interrupt the subscription of verification process at all.

It's a free service, and in order to remain in business we need to do advertising of some kind... and as a user of the service, I'd hope you'd want us to be profitable enough to stick around. Free doesn't mean it's being done for charity, free means that we're offering it to you at no cost out of pocket.

And lastly, you're added to my list, and if you unsubscribe, the service is cancelled... That's true again.

If you can't stand getting an email or 2 a day from me, then you're probably not cut out to be an email marketer in the first place.

The basis of generating a list is typically offering something of value for free, and being added to someone's list in exchange for that freebie... in our case, the freebie is ongoing, so the subscription to the list is ongoing.

We're not trying to hide anything, and we have hundreds of thousands of autoresponders in service today... we've sent millions and millions of emails, and we're not going anywhere.

If you're looking for a free autoresponder with even close to decent delivery, we're your ONLY option... period. I'd put our delivery rates against the majority of the paid services recommended here, and we'd win in most cases.

We're also unlimited... 1 subscriber, or 100,000... we don't care. We're operating at under 5% capacity right now, and can easily handle your list no matter how big it gets.

All I can say is, give it a shot...

If you like it, great... if not, no hard feelings.
