Hi there, you can start looking on different freelancing sites like Guru.com and eLance.com for some virtual assistant to hire. However, even you hire a virtual assistant from a legit site you won’t effectively his/her capabilities to do work unless you try them. This will help you assure that the person you are going to hire is the right one for the job. You could also look at staff.com ( https://www.staff.com/skill/virtual+assistant ) for more virtual assistant to choose from. You could even interview or have a 10 hours trial to try them.

Mate my advice is go on Elance. That's what I am doing. Put a good job ad out that is very specific and limit the term of the job to only one week. Mention in the ad that you will extend the term once you experience that they are good. Then if they are good, extend the contract week by week. That' s what I have done. And I have weeded out a few "bad" VA's and now I am onto a good one. I am going to look after him so he stays with me.

    Hope that helps

If you're looking for a filipino VA, I have had some success with this site in the past: Hire the best Filipino employees and virtual assistants the Philippines has to offer!
The downside is that you pay a monthly fee to join, and there isn't really a proper review system so you're taking a gamble when you hire.

Recently, I've just been using good ol' Odesk.

I have a question for those of you who are experienced with virtual assistants. Is it possible to find a VA who will answer calls? for example for taking orders for a small biz, is that possible? it would require someone whos english skills are excellent, so not sure if that is easy to find or not

Odesk. I've had great experiences with people from the Phillipines...BUT there are people from the U.S. who are willing to be VA's as well. Check on sites like Fiverr.

Thank you for the information. I've heard that VA's from the Phillipines are both very good and very cheap. (comparatively speaking)

    Hi.

I recommend you to visit Onlinejobs.ph and Easyoutsource.com for finding good, trustworthy, kind and reliable VA. They are from Philippines, they got speed, intellect, and good sense in terms of work. And the good thing is, you can pay them hourly or even per project in a cheaper price.

I agree with nawshale. Filipinos are good quality workers.
They are trustworthy and have a time management for all the tasks, and in fact, cheaper prices.

I dont have any questions in my VA now. A very good worker.
