Blogging With John Chow

I'm new to John Chow's products, but not him. I've read about him in Entrepreneurial magazines and so on.

What are his courses usually like - anyone know? Top quality, I would assume? I hope!

I just bought it and am going to thoroughly review it but I wanted to see if other Warriors could fill me in on general quality of his course line and teaching methods.

    Hey Tiff,

I can't speak on his courses, but like you, have read a lot of stuff coming from him over the years, and my overall impression is that he's genuine, very sharp, and not too 'morally challenged' - three things in very short supply these days!

As someone who knows just how, well, seriously you take the review process , I'm eager to hear what you have to say once you've had the chance.

    Best regards,

    Michael

Awesome. I got through the free report and module 1 (part of it). He curled my toes. The message is superb. I got a kick in the butt for making sure I do some things for 2013, but I can't wait to see the whole course. I'll continue tomorrow but I was so impressed with ethics, like Michael said. That's rare. Josh I'm new to him as far as being a customer goes, but I'd read about/heard about him before.

Yes, John is a great guy in the sense that even though hes a super affiliate, he does not exhibit any arrogance and hes a very simple guy. I recently emailed him to ask about his course and generally to discuss with him and he promptly replied within minutes even though he does not know me personally. I see many so called super affiliates who are very arrogant and have not achieved even half of what he has achieved and let alone reply, they wont even open a strangers email. This guy is down to earth with a helping nature. I am buying his course and implementing it. BTW, his blog johnchow.com is really good with a lot of great information on IM.

John Chow! What an amazing man he is. I have read his free e-books and they are solid. I have been reading his blog for over a year now. I really hope you take action with his 30 day action plan. It is great!

He teamed up with Peng Joon who just launched a Clcikbank #1 product called work from no home. I bought that course and it was thorough and great for the beginner. I learned a few new things and polished up my marketing skills for sure.

    Enjoy!

Well part two fell short for me today. While I love seeing the formula of how he sets up a blog, the details were lacking. This is common with marketers - they forget what it was like to be a newbie.

So for instance, he might tell that he uses the all in one SEO pack but I activate it and the dang thing has a mile long strip of options and this is why I always deactivate it. I have no clue how to set it up properly and I don't want to screw anything up.

Those details need to be in there. But that's one drawback in comparison to many pluses, too. Module 3 review tomorrow.

      Hi guys,

I've been looking forward to this product, since I have been following John Chow for years and would love to know how he got his blog to $40,000 per month. Although I haven't had time to go through the whole 30 day action plan yet, I can give you my first impressions, which are pretty good (and anyone who has read my reviews in the past knows I'm tough to please). Here is an excerpt from my review at Twirlie.com.au

      Pros
      • Detailed instructions abound throughout this course. John has left no stone unturned in the guidance that he offers in this course.
      • Created by a well known, successful blogger who is legit. Many IM courses are created by people that may or may not be successful at what they are teaching.
      • With teachings for all phases of IM, this is a course that both newbies and advanced marketers can learn from.
      • Comes with a detailed 30 day action plan to turn what you learn into real world action.
      Cons
      • While there are videos, I would have liked to see a few more instructional videos, rather than the simple overview videos that are sprinkled throughout this site.
Having purchased many products that promise to teach how to build authority sites, I can tell you from experience that there is always information missing. You'll read things in these guides, like - "Create killer content!" and then you're expected to guess what exactly this content should look like in order to be considered "Killer". In other words, the majority of guides, reports and membership sites that purport to tell you everything you need to know to build an authority site are very vague and not all that helpful.

What a welcome surprise it was to find that Blogging with John Chow actually gives you the little details that make all the difference in the world. When John tells you that you must create "Killer content" he follows up and tells you how to do it. And not only does he tell you how to do it, he shows you several ways to do it, how to come up with that killer stuff for months and years to come and even gives you seed ideas to keep on cranking out content that has the potential to go viral with your niche audience.

It is this detailed approach, based on practical, doable steps that sets Blogging with John Chow apart from the other Authority Website courses out there. At the end of the day John doesn't leave you guessing about what to do; he actually delivers the goods and gives you the details you need to go from A to B to C and beyond

        Freedom,

I have written millions of pages. I will first tell you what "Killer Content" is not!

        Killer content is not:
It is not copied from another site, it is not a spun article, it is not an article you re-wrote, it is not a PLR article, it is not boring, it has no misspellings in it, it is not filled with spammy links to products, it is not writing just to squeeze in keywords, it is not what no one wants to read!

        Killer Content is:
Fresh, new, fascinating, timely, important, written interestingly, a real how to, a real explanation of a problem, a real help, a new idea, a re invention of an old idea, something that makes you think, something that makes to re think, something that changes your mind, or gives you a new perspective, new in marketing or science-or babysitting-or advertising etc, or a continuation of a series on such topics. Review sites have Killer Content if they tell you why you should buy a product and are correct. Look out though, many people abuse "Review Sites" because they are often affiliates, and just want you to buy from them.

So any topic will do, travel, sports, health etc. Maybe you explain something that many people get wrong?

So, sit back and the next time you want to do a search online, before you do, ask what you want to know, and then look at the article or info you click on to read. Describe it. Did it fall into one of the categories I listed? BINGO! It was "Killer Content"!!!

        Got it?

        Thanks
        Mulesmurf

I would recommend this course for any new or seasoned bloggers. I am pretty new to blogging myself and really want to build a great blog of outstanding content and not just a make money online blog.

    Day 1 = a review of module 1 was great - I was drooling.
Day 2 = A review of module 2 fell short of technical details, disappointing.

Day 3 = a mix of drool and disappointment. I loved the message he taught about branding and all of that. But again, a list of some tools/resources with no links or instructions left me feeling short.

And the info about domains needed to come before the install blog part. So a little out of order.

Reading this post it is quite clear that there are many who are applying the John Chow's strategy. It is great experience of learning from Master. Now days when I look at sells page of any launch I feel like am looking at Advertise. But John chow is different. There is no hype.

      Good luck to all!

How's it coming along? Is the content being dripped out day by day? Or are you personally breaking it up into sections?

I just completed day 4 on my blog. It's not dripped. I just implement and do thorough reviews in detail, so it takes me time.

Today? I was Homer Freaking Simpson drooling all over my keyboard.

Module 4 is INcredible. It's a good mix of content tips and comment tips (getting them and managing them). Everything he taught is ethical and I personally filled two pages of a spiral in this one module alone with notes on things I want to do because I haven't done them! Two things were real AHA moments for me.

I did have a few complaints - the last section of this module is a total rehash of stuff he already put in the module or earlier in the course. Needs to be deleted completely. It's like he forgot he already said it or something.

On another note - he writes SO well. I love reading this course. And watching the videos he does at the beginning of sections is nice - he's very down to earth and sharing in his videos.

Just finished reviewing module five on my blog. This was on list building via our blogs.

He did a great job explaining the importance, set up, offers to get the opt in, list treatment, promotions and content to send them etc.

I didn't have complaints today - but I did email him a question so I hope he answers it.

No drool but no disappointments either.

I instantly implemented three tips he advised that I hadn't been doing.

Nice comments Tiffany. His free ebook from a few years ago was very good, but it is a bit out of date now (though the principles don't change). This course is up to date, helpful, and it's a shame everyone knows all the tricks now!:p

I would not worry about everybody knowing all the tricks because of John's course. The vast, vast majority of those who learn his tricks and strategies will not do anything with them. Most people who learn do not implement.

You're right many people won't implement one way or another. But what if you already know all these blogging tricks but you didn't implement them before and then you happened to buy JohnChow's course and found out that it is the same information that you already know and for you there's nothing new, will you ask for a refund? Or do you think they will give you a refund?

            Peoney:

If an individual knows all the strategies revealed in John's course, but has yet to implement them -- I would ask this person the following:

"The question should not be . . . Will you ask for a refund? The question should be . . . Why did you not implement what you learned?"

The first question . . "Will you ask for a refund? . . will do little to advance your IM career. The second question . . "Why did you not implement what you learned?" . . could possibly break down a major barrier that is holding you back.

@ jon poland It doesn't matter whether the person implement what they have learned before , it happens to many people who are confused. But you want to buy something that offers new Ideas not something that you have already learned before. It's like buying a book that you have already read, in that case you want to buy somethings else.

The reason many people are confused is because they are not implementing. Clarity comes from action -- from implementing. Clarity and focus does not come from consuming more content.

Yes, we want to discover new ideas when we purchase a new product. I agree with you 100% on that one.

        NZROD This is my take:

No I don't think it matters if "everyone" knows all the "tricks".
That is because NEW IDEAS can come to you when you know all the "old" stuff.
Also, most people even though they may buy John Chow's course, do not understand
that online marketing takes time. Often, if someone is impatient, like most people, they will quit and NEVER DO ANYTHING! Can you worry about these people?

I believe that people SHOULD get immediate results! How? Learn PPC! (Pay Per Click)

        Why?

Well you know you have a good product, and likely some pretty good ads. Now your job is to find people interested in the product. When you make some money doing that, you will NEVER QUIT, and that's the attitude that you need.

Also you can say you have ALWAYS made money online, and you are NEVER in that horrible class of people that NEVER make money!

The ONLY worry is that if the search engines, especially G search discovers new ideas, they often squash them for one reason or another. That's another reason that marketing evolution is a GOOD THING!

        Thanks

        Mulesmurf

I'm on Day 17 of the action plan now and wanted to update you.

Let me just put it this way...I'm implementing this on my blog. If you were to see my blog sidebar "popular posts" you would see the # of comments my blog is getting since implementing this course.

Now I've had that here and there for years, but not consistently. 172 comments (including mine) on the top one, 78, 75, etc. Tons of participation BECAUSE people are enjoying what they're seeing.

And while they're there, they also click on my Covert Messenger and buy products, etc.

One reader commented today: "Wow, Tiff. Another awesome post. I’m going to run out of wall space soon if I have to keep printing these out and hanging up to read everyday."

That about says everything. What John's teaching - ethical, based on connecting with your audience, and really streamlining my blog for a tight focus that's powerful.

And I'm not even done yet. I have more to implement.

John is also very approachable as well. I emailed him about an issue and he responded immediately! Frighteningly fast, it was like he was waiting for my mail. There are no "secrets" in John's course, just good solid blogging advice. Along with "Kindling", this is the best thing I've seen in a long while. And Tiff promotes both as well. I must say that Tiff's blog is really the only one I read every day.

John Chow is the real deal, he has been around for a while and he is all about branding yourself in your niche. It is not just about the search engines, it is more about giving your audience something to come back for and to blog on a consistent schedule whether it is once a week or every other day. Just be consistent.
