Clickbank vs Paydotcom?

Hi guys

I have been reading a lot about Clickbank and Paydotcom lately.
Is there really much difference between the two?
Has Clickbank really been having that many problems?
And is paydotcom a better market place for Newbies?
Would appreciate your input on this matter...
Thanks

As an affiliate or a vendor?

If you're an affiliate, it's anyone's guess. ClickBank seems to have a wider range of products. The disadvantage with ClickBank is that many claim to have tracking problems. The disadvantage with PayDotCom is that vendors pay their affiliates, so payment may not be as reliable as it is with ClickBank.

If you're a vendor, I think ClickBank is easier. The disadvantage is that getting your product approved may be an issue, sometimes, and another issue may be product pricing. The advantage is that they handle all the payments to affiliates, they take care of 1099s for affiliates (you don't have to worry about sending affiliates 1099s), they take care of processing the payments, and so on.

Clickbank do have problems - but it won't stop me from using them. Paydotcom has a very poor choice of products. There are a few good products in the IM niche, but if you're looking for anything else then it's mostly just rubbish that Clickbank wouldn't accept.

    Clickbank

    PROS:
    - lots of good products
    - they handle affiliate payments

    CONS:
    - affiliate tracking issues
    - dormancy fees

    Paydotcom

    PROS:
    - Pays straight to Paypal

    CONS:
    - Vendor manually handles affiliate payments (which means they can decide to pay you or not)
    - Not many good products
    - Some vendors have Clickbank version and PDC version (as another page) of the same product under the same domain. If buyers decides to type the domain only of the product page, they will have to buy from Clickbank's checkout instead of PDC.

Clickbank is just a Digital Product affiliate program. I have used them to sell my e books. Works well but they take a pretty high commission

Paydotcom doesnt support sub id tracking. Thats the main reason why it pales to CB, IMHO.

How is Paydotcom for listing your own products? Do they get much exposure/affiliate interest?

I'm talking about non-im niche products.

Actually both of them are the good marketpalce for online business. It is very hard to say which one is good. Both also have their own strong suit and weakness. You can go to their website compare the different between of them. Ask yourself a few question before you join. For example:

      1) How much is the activation fees?
Clickbank need you to pay $49.95 as an activation fees. But PayDotCom is free for you to open an account.

      - Can you do the multiple sales?
In Clickbank, one account with one product. But in PayDotCom, you can have multiple products with just one account and only need to pay one time activation fees, $29.

      - How your affiliate get pay?
Clickbank will help yot to pay the commission to your affiliate. It save a lot of time for vendor. But in PayDotCom, as a vendor have to pay the commission to their affiliate by them self.

-Which one of is more popular?
Answer is Clickbank. Because they have more product compare to PayDotCom. More product can attract more people and the changes for your product get attention is more higher.

As you can see, the way of doing business technique of everyone is different and we can only choose the one that is more suitable in our business.

I was told Clickbank doesn't accept membership sites to be set up...Is this true?

  • For vendors, it is really difficult to be accepted to ClickBank...PaydotCom is a nice, quick alternative to get your product online and selling without needing to be approved.
