Easy VideoSuite - This is an updated product that will launch soon, and there is now a video showing some of the inner workings of the software. Looks impressive but...

EVP 1 - I purchased ($200 I think) and was relatively satisfied with the product at the time, in spite of the extremely difficult set up process.

EVP 2 - Introduced more features and I purchased again (another $100 I think). This version had more analytics which were great, but I had it working on one site, then decided to move it to another site. This was several months later and by then the support for the product had noticeably deteriorated. I was never able to use it again after that and just started using Youtube UNLISTED feature instead.

Easy VideoSuite - Don't know the costs yet, but I will probably buy again. I don't mind paying for upgrades, but at this point the hosting and monthly charges may factor into my final decision.

I do think that this kind of software would be VERY valuable to marketers who create their own video products and membership sites. Certainly one of the major hurdles to this product in the past was the intense and convoluted set up process - but that looks like it was fully reworked in this version.

What do you think? Will you be buying and how will you be using these features if you think they are valuable?

I will not be buying. I spent $200 for EVP 2 with commercial upgrade. I was expecting to pay maybe $50 - 100 for the upgrade. EVP 2 is good and does all I need at the moment.

There are so many video player choices out there, I have Camtasia and can use Jing or whatever else to create screencasts. The other features I don't need.

The upgrade price is too high. If it were lower I would consider it, but for $200 standard and $300 commercial I'll pass. When it launches it's suppose to be $100 more for each option.

It's good for those that need the advance features. All I need is a video player that I can add to sites. EVP 2 is easy for me and works perfectly.

I'll probably have to migrate to something else in the future. I'm done paying $200 for a video player when there are so many free and paid choices out there.

I agree with Deu12000. I owned the past two versions of EasyVideoPlayer and when I received the email today with the "substantial discounted price for existing customers" I expected more than just $100 off a $400 price (for commercial).

It's a digital product, you'd think they would do at least a 50% discount ($200) for pre-launch buyers to thank their existing customers (some who DID just purchase within the last 90 days).

The suite has some nice new features, but I'll most likely just still with EVP2 and continue to use Screenflow and Handbrake for my recording and converting.

The sad / funny part is that since the product is being sold through Clickbank, you're allowed to purchase through your own CB affiliate link once it's release and pretty much get a 50% discount anyway...

So essentially the EVP team is giving less of a discount to existing members than they could get by just buying the product through their own affiliate link...how oddly unfortunate.

Okay yes Dexx, that does sound expensive. Did not know you will be able to get it through CB either.

As for editing, the features in EVS were rather barbaric anyway, so I wasn't looking at it for that at all. But dragging a ScreenFlow project in EVS looked attractive enough.

Ya, for editing I'd prob stick with Screenflow anyways.

Only two things I like about the new Suite:

        1) The ability to switch between whiteboard mode and do markings on screen while recording videos for clients / outsourcers (no more need for Jing etc.)

        2) The video page builder features look pretty nice with the various visual choices, and video holder images, without needing additional wordpress plugins / coding.

Looks not bad but having bought EVP1 and EVP2 and now another $197 (after discount) especially for a developer license is wayyyy too high. Don't feel very much like buying as the whole thing is overpriced

I also don't understand the commercial licence "up sell" vs regular licence...

So basically I only need the upsell if I plan to allow clients to login to my backend to see their own video stats. (Which allows for white label access etc)

EVS is a nice idea but there is no way I'm going to pay more for the upgrade than I paid for the original. I was quite surprised and disappointed to see the cost - especially as I would need a commercial license.

I think the new version tries to do too much. Many people have Camtasia or other editing software and don't need their player to do this less well.

Also there are so many good Wordpress plugins for a fraction of the price, I don't think EVS is suitable for most people.

However due to the high commissions it's being over promoted and hyped so I guess a lot of inexperienced people will buy it when they don't really need it.

I use EVP2 for my main videos and it gives more functionality and professional look than copying/pasting from YouTube.

When I'm 'on tour', I video from my phone upload to yt and then copy/paste to my site.

Pasting yt to my site for me is still not as pro as I want to present, but with the EVS app coming after launch I'm sure it'll be a good fit.

Don't have screenflow or camtasia, but do have editing software on my phone so again EVS could still be a better fit.

It will be time saving but more importantly for me, s the higher professionalism I'll hope to get from EVS.

I'm not an evangelist for the product, just a satisfied customer of EVP2 I'm sure there will be less expensive options, but for my mode of operation EVS will be high considered.

Can anyone say how much it costs for the standard licence.. Seen figures above but am at a loss to figure it out...

For sure it may do more than I need, but that brings memories back over over buying my video camera a few years ago. More than I needed then, but fulfills what I need now.

Also, it may not be what others need...or want...

I am extremely biased, since I own a couple myself...so take it for what its worth.

I think EV Suite is a over priced, and under featured. Nothing has really changed for the internet marketer. I don't want a server app where I have to do a copy/paste, and do a bunch of different logins, just to put a video on my webpage. As for creating videos, Camtasia 8 and Sony Vegas Pro are all you want or need. As for a page creator....is that why they are charging $300-$400, for a page creator? Hmm...

Only cool thing I like is the cool optin to watch video. Sounds like a cool upgrade for me.

Once again, I am extremely biased.

I honestly don't know enough about the various products, I have some of your stuff and like it a lot, I have camtasia 8.... wondering if I even need this new shiny object

        Thanks

In my humble opinion, if you own Cam8 and EVP2 like me you should be good. Now, if they had a decent member discount i might have gone for it but if i had a choice between $299 for Cam8 and $297 for EVS, Cam8 everytime...

Absolutely - they don´t care about their customers- which is a big mistake.
Despite all the hype I bet they haven´t reached their sales target with this crazy pricing and disrespect of their customer base.

I've had website design customers tell me they didn't want the YouTube logo on their videos. Besides that I see having YouTube embedded videos as a plus for any site. YouTube takes into account embedding and views from other sites for their ranking system, so it actually helps your YouTube rankings.

I also don't use YouTube videos for videos in private members areas although I know you can set videos on YouTube as private.

People are in the mindset of owning a website and ranking on google search, They need to view youtube in the same way as google search but for videos

I already own Camtasia so i won't need many of the "new features" anyway, personally i won't be forking out for an overpriced upgrade.

Holy crap...$297? I was all on board with EVS and even chose the best bonus package out of all of the emails that I got. I can't see spending that much, especially since this is a "nice to have" product rather than a "need to have", at least for me.

What are the best free/low-cost alternatives to get similar results as EVS?

Oh wow, so it's $297 for the basic EVS suite, and then an ADDITIONAL $97 to get the "commercial licence" that removes the Easy Video Suite branding from any videos or video pages created using the software.

I hear you and know what you mean, reckon its a personal thing for me. However I do get more functionality with not hosting my main videos on YouTube and I've had contentious videos flagged ( didn't know they were contentious), through YouTube and ran the risk of losing my channel.

The important videos and curve, I don't want to leave in the hands of a third party...

And yes, there are less expensive alternatives Im sure , some listed above, but ultimately it's a personal choice.

And Marty, kudos on the views, great going. Thanks for the question.

And ( again), I've just purchased EVS and see if I can gift ( have to contact Josh), my current EVP2 to a fellow performer and colleague...might have to pay something for that ( if poss), but they would get a lot of benefit from it

I bought it and it looks fantastic. From what I understand, the tweaks they made to making the videos even more web-friendly is good enough for me.

Video plays SUCH AN IMPORTANT role in my business (and should in yours too) so little tweaks make it well worth the price point. Tracking and analytic and stuff is cool but I use primarily for the publishing capability

The membership is for a video marketing membership thing. You can cancel it before 30 days (or right away) to avoid paying $37 a month for it.

I bought evs and I have evp 2.0, I'm the type that don't promote a product before I can test it myself. The "customer discount" was a joke imho, but since I do a lot of video marketing I wanted to test it out. Then if it works and is worth the price tag then I'll let my customers about it.

I'll say this flat out it's not revolutionary.

The video conversion is ok but its really slow in my opinion. I can set a batch process in Camtasia 8 and be done in half the time so they need to work on that.

The self install did not work properly, it had an sql error and the 404. Sql error happens according to them is when you change the install prefix.. I did 4 different hosting tests last two I did not touch the prefix and the error came about. You would only notice the error if you try to use the timeline feature.

Now the 404 I was told that htaccess was not installed.. So I had to make sure it was not hidden. /sigh that's not the issue.

The main issue is if you have wordpress installed on the top level of your install the redirect parameters that they set in their folder is not working nice with the redirect parameters set in wordpress.

I have no idea why they did not just do a php redirect instead like they did in evp 2.

Everyone that is praising it has not setup the "advanced" part of it which is still not working properly.

Now there is a work around I figured out while waiting for the helpdesk to answer back.

But I don't like it because it conflicts with wordrpress Rewritebase
it will work but that issue is that is the permalink trailing slash at the end of your link to reduce to many redirects which can give you a negative grade from the search engines.

Now if you are running windows 8 you might getting into an issue with the desktop app. I'm not 100% sure if its the app or the conversion engine when you record a video. It just loops forever and it doesn't finish. I'll retest it again but it seems that's a bug in their software. Just to be clear I have a lot of products that work fine on windows 8 so I don't want to hear that it's that.

It clearly states windows 8 in the download link. The thing that bothers me is I can use the new snag it video record do the same thing as soon as its done I have an mp4 video in seconds.

Lastly if you install self this on it's own domain with no wordpress install above it, it works no problem so you have tw options.

Wait till they get it right or set it like they had it with Evp 2.0 or remove the RewriteBase /

Not an ideal solution for many reasons but its a workaround.

I know this is a new product and bugs will happen but these are things that happened with EVP 2 You would think they would of learned from the last time.

Dex if they can get everything working as intended it might be worth the upgrade. But as it stands right now you are not the only I've spoken about that feels that the upgrade is minimal at this stage when you have Evp2.0.

I tend to agree, I can see how the analytics part is way more advanced than the evp2. But I'm the type that I don't want my embed to be hosted with someone else. Unless I'm going for the total solution like wistia then that's different.

I guess for someone that doesn't have the previous purchase then yeah I see this working out for them. But for evp 2 you can probably wait a bit until all the kinks are out of the way.

Then reevaluate if it's worth it for you or not. Maybe when they apps are available and self install is working as intended then it would be worth it.

I can verify what MarioSotoJr with these bugs in EVS. I have spent the full $400 as this product is not working. You would think these guys would offer better support. They got until tomorrow to fix all 9 issues otherwise I am asking for my money back. This is easily one of the most disappointing and expensive offers I have taken advantage of. With their moronic 48 hr support response and 9-5 timeframe, everything would be working by now. But nope... I am $400 out of pocket. You could say my patience is running out.

As disappointing as it may be, I think you are comparing apples and oranges here. As much as they touted the editing features in EVS, it was clearly not in the same league as other editing programs such as Camtasia, ScreenFlow, Vegas etc.

EVS was positioning itself as more of an advanced video converter, marketing and analytic tool.
