Best multi vendor cart / marketplace software?

Hi guys!

As an offshoot of my retail webslte I would like to start an online marketplace where different vendors can sell their products (a bit like etsy.com but more niche). I was wondering if there is anything ready made you can recommend that I can buy or subscribe to that I can customise with my branding etc?

    I'd back open cart. But if you need more functionality than the market place, maybe have a look at drupalcommerce (successor of ubercart). Will be more work to set up, but you have all the modules of drupal at your disposal.
    I've built little online shops with both (without multi-vendor), and while I had a hard time wrapping my head around the drupal concepts, now I'm a fan boy. Again, open cart is great and much easier to learn.
