WPTwin Vs Backup Buddy

Hi,

I'm looking at buying some cloning software and the most popular are WP Twin and Backup Buddy.

I see that WP Twin is $297 for the unlimited license & Backup Buddy nearly half the price at $150 I'd be interested to hear from those in the know, what if anything makes WP Twin worth twice the price and also any other views you have on these products.

Thanks

WP Twin is 10X easier than BB. I own both.

WPT is a script (safer), BB is a plugin, needs updates, draws hackers.

I also own Backup Creator (plugin). $97/year unlimited.

Automated backups is a concern to pay attention to.

All in all, I'd take WPT (my favorite - I love it) if price was no concern, but I can't afford the unlimited.

Backup Creator is my choice because price matters.

I'm never going back to BB.

      Because price matters use Duplicator
Duplicate, clone, backup, move and transfer an entire WordPress site from one location to another in 3 steps.
WordPress › Duplicator « WordPress Plugins

      Good luck

Backup Creator gets my vote. $7.00 is hard to beat and it works perfectly. It should be renamed to Clone Creator or something similar because it actually clones. My favorite feature is it also clones the non-wordpress directories.

Backup Buddy is just too complicated to create the backup, but the restore feature is awesome.

WPTwin. Have not used it in years. Backup Creator is just too easy and the right price.

      Jeffery 100% :-)

A vote for WP Twin. Been using it for a few years now and has always done exactly what it is supposed to do. Has saved me a ton of time.

Backup Creator is superb. I back-up my sites automatically to Amazon S3 with this plugin - just set-it and forget it. I can even delete outdated back-up copies automatically. Price is great compared to the other solutions.

Backup Buddy has some nice features, especially if you're running a multisite installation. The big problem that turned me off to it is the yearly cost. You're only paying for unlimited use for one year with updates.

I purchased a copy of WPDolly Pro (no aff) and that seems to be working out pretty good right now. Max has got a 50% off sale going on it until tomorrow, March 1st. It offers unlimited personal use also a developer version is available, both with lifetime updates, free.

Copies everything with database repair and scheduled backups to FTP, Amazon S3 or Dropbox.

One option that I use (and that can schedule, backup to the cloud and clone) is InfiniteWP - Manage Multiple WordPress Sites. Now the features I mentioned above will cost an extra $185 but that's it! Worth it and because it's set up on your own server, you have total control.
