Opportunity.com - Affiliate Commission Engine

Kern just tweeted about Reese' new product/website. I know it hasn't launched yet but maybe some people have had an early look. I want to know if this is for advanced affiliate marketers or newbies. I don't want to waste my time on stuff I already know.

You can check it out here - Opportunity.com - Build the ultimate money making online business! (not an affiliate link)

So far no details known yet. As of now, John has released a free video that you can watch once you opt-in.

You are right. It's nothing new but I guess he did for newbies or maybe he will start these video series from the very basics. And again, knowing the basics is one thing and implementing them is another thing. I know I am guilty of not implementing even the basic things.

I liked the video. Although it was simplistic in nature I picked up a few things. I think Opportunity.com is basically a membership site about affiliate marketing.

Course videos are usually boring and hard to focus on. I hope its not for newbies because I like the way the information has been delivered so far.

The video contains nothing new at all. It is just rehased information you can get anywhere. As a matter of fact, I wrote a report months ago that had this same info.

I am not sure what John is going to offer but if this video is an example, I don't think he is offering anything new.

      According to John's blog:

"I'm very happy to officially announce (finally) that we are rolling out a new site this month...

Opportunity.com is a very powerful membership site that will help you make money with Affiliate Marketing."

It should launch today I believe, although I have not seen any follow up emails. Has anybody heard any different regarding this launch??

I met John last weekend at the Mass Control Seminar and he said that it's for newbies as well as advanced marketers. He also said he'd like to launch on Thursday.

I'm looking forward to the launch.

        Cheers,

If your looking for a solid direction and are new this is a great product. I am not an affiliate just another wanna be. I think everyone is a wanna be until they put the rubber to the road. A friend printed off a page from the site and the straight forward information on one page helped me. Yes it is more for new people, or maybe old people who have lost their direction. But it is worth 37.00 a month.

I'm a semi-newbie and signed up for membership.

It's a great disappointment. John launched and over-sold Opportunity.com, loaded a set of videos from his previous CD training program and "opportunities," which is just a list of ClickBank and other network sites.

The training videos on keyword research, Adwords, hosting, article writing and the like are very elementary. Some of them are only a few minutes long.

When I submitted a ticket asking "where's the beef," the CS rep responded they were "behind," which is an under-statement. A red banner across the top of the training section promises "more stuff" each day, but I've yet to see it in a week.

Two days ago, they loaded a one page "check-list," suggesting everyone buy a domain and hosting account, Affiliate Theme from Unique Designs, an aWeber account, write a few quick articles and launch a WordPress site. (They're affiliate links for each service; so Opportunity.com should generate a lot of affiliate income from the get-go.)

The action sheet totally contradicts John's recommendations in the videos about researching your market, checking out ezines, opening an AdWords account, doing keyword research, etc.

The bottom line: Opportunity.com should never have launched in its current state until all the pieces were put together. To argue whether the course is for newbies or experienced affiliate marketers is mute. The membership training site is unacceptable.

I'm not here to argue with anyone, but the site isn't even a week old yet. We're experiencing some growing pains with our servers and some other issues and the site is nowhere near what it will be in the coming weeks. Is it perfect? No, of course, not. We're rolling out lots of other stuff for the site and it's only going to get better.

But I find it amazing that people are using terms like "disappointment" to describe a $39.95 site that others are calling "a great investment." Just search Twitter and anyone can see for themselves in real-time what people are saying.

The site is so much more than the training part of it, but the training that's already online (with a lot more to come) is easily enough instruction to make $250,000+/year. So anyone that truly 'knows' all of the information provided by the training yet isn't making a lot of money is simply not taking action to apply it.

John, without further study and work, no one will make $250K a year with the materials you provided at launch. Your videos briefly review Google Trends, Adwords, the Keyword tool, eZines and more, but you don't tell members HOW to use these tools effectively. You only mention the tools.

Several times in the videos you recommend viewers see the "reference" section below, which doesn't exist.

Your red banner at the top of the training section said more videos and training materials were coming, but they never appeared in the week I was a member.

Then you posted a "getting started" guide that encouraged members to immediately get an aWeber account, choose one market niche, buy a domain name and hosting service from BlueHost and write two or three articles.

This was premature and would certainly lead to disaster for newbies and others who have insuffiicient training to start.

In your sales video for Opportunity.com, you talk about "building a business," not just making a quick buck with Internet marketing. You also said your "research department" would help members along the way. I believed your claims and signed up.

To my dismay, your site was not ready to launch. Despite new and more comprehensive material you may provide, you over promised and under delivered. That's why I canceled.

I joined around two weeks ago and I was rather disappointed. I emailed Mercy Sanchez of Opportunity.com and submitted a support ticket 3 days ago but got no response. The last thing I want is for Opportunity.com to automatically charge my credit card again before they even process the cancellation.

I also requested for a refund. Again no response yet from Opportunity.com . I don't know why they don't have a cancel subscription button inside the member's area. There should be a cancel anytime button/option there.

Good thing I didn't get the $197 package.

Don, what steps did you take to get the refund? I'm still at a loss here.

Thanks! If anyone could help me please do John Reese seems to be busy watching the Orlando Magics win over Cleveland... I am quite the Magics fan myself.

I'm sorry but this is a blatant LIE. The tactics shared in the lessons are from MY OWN testing and experience. I don't just 'rehash' other people's material - in fact, in many cases it's the opposite. I've seen a ton of ebooks and other courses that have ripped off strategies that were first published in my courses.

I respect John Reese and the hard work he's done over the years to get where he is today but i must say that, so far, I am a little disappointed with opportunity.com.

I purchased the upsell Starter Kit for $197. It provides some pretty good content but what I was also expecting were some good videos on how to actually IMPLEMENT the content.

Being more of a newbie, I was expecting some Camtasia videos showing me step-by-step instructions on how to work with the html landing page, how to upload it, how to upload the special reports to my hosting account, etc. Real newbie stuff.

At least that was what I expected to receive, rather then the few rather lame pdf tutorials. Maybe I'm expecting too much from the site -- it's not THAT expensive compared to some of the other sites.

On the other hand, PPC Classroom is free and there's lots of training materials there, too.

Bottom line... back to Ewen Chia's site for the missing details.

I can see that Opportunity.com training starts from the basics. Though some quite advanced topics are found on other materials, not sure if I read them from TrafficSecrets 2.0.

That's why I'm wondering if the primary feature/benefit of it are the sections: Find Offers, My Opportunitys, and My Alerts.. ?

Oops .. Launches are great for some eh .. There is a lot of great looking info, the nuts and bolts issues and queries are familiar with any new venture... as standard.

Newbies should really stay away from "new launches" too many teething problems when realistically the info is out there. When I first started online I used to chat in a forum with my mentor at least 3 hours a day is that unusual? Not im some groups.

Facts are a new group are bolting to get to that point but you have to give them time.. Give opps.com 6 months, then see how they roll... Should be ready to rock then.

Heh... Things don't always go so smoothly during a launch- especially when the technology itself impedes on communication.

Sometimes pieces don't fall into place, and might take a great deal of effort to correct. Gawd knows it's happened to me.

Patience should be exercised in these situations- being egocentric kills your ability to consider what might be happening on the other end.

I subscribed a couple weeks ago and have been more puzzled than impressed. I'm not canceling yet, but will likely do so shortly if things don't turn up.

It's a little disappointing to be watching videos mentioning materials "elsewhere on the CD" that are nowhere to be found on the site, or to refer to resource sections which are completely empty.

The sad thing is that I'm sure John has the materials in his head, and the intro videos are quite good, but everything else looks like a rehash of existing content to boost his bottom line, kind of like what Frank Kern suggests doing in his Mass Control 2.0 materials. You can't blame John for following a proven strategy to recycle his existing assets to make more money, but as a customer, I feel let down.

Why is there no forum? Commission Blueprint, for example, has a thriving community where the members help one another to work through the materials.

Why is there no cancel subscription button prominently displayed? Without it, the program feels akin to a semi-forced continuity program. I'm sure that's not your intention, so adding such a button would go a long ways to calming the concerns that have been raised.

My problem is that the marketing talked about specific training to show exactly how to go from nothing to a successful affiliate campaign. If you have additional materials planned to complete that vision, that's great, but your sales page indicates a complete program, not a work in progress.

Imagine buying a newly built house and then showing up with the moving van and finding it hadn't been finished, but that the builder had "exciting plans" in the months ahead to bring it up to spec with what was sold.

John, I'd be happy to provide more feedback if it would be helpful. You obviously have the seeds of a successful product in opportunity.com, but it will take considerable changes to bring it up to the quality of the product described in your sales page.

      Hi,

everyone talked about only the videos so far, but the main part of this project is the offer directory. Please write a reveiw about the offer directory. Have you found very profitable affiliate programs with it?

The videos are less important, you can find a lot of material on the web free, for example:
Confessions Of A Super Duper Affiliate Uber Affiliate Marketing Guide

So please forget the videos and talk about the offer directory .

Why is there no forum? Because there is forum for Traffic Secrets 2.0, but that forum is dead. So I think John wants to keep alive that forum first, before starting another one.

To the best I can tell, the offer directory is just a scrape of a number of the directories of several affiliate programs. I'm not sure it adds any value, but perhaps I'm missing the point.

It seems all of the information is exactly the same as what you could get just by going to Commission Junction, PayDotCom, ShareASale, ClixGalore, etc. It doesn't look like ClickBank products are included.

I guess the only thing you can say is that it's organized into one place which is helpful I guess, but for anyone that already knows about all of these affiliate programs, I'm not sure why their super abbreviated information provides any compelling value.

Again, I could just be missing the point. There's nothing on the site to explain how to use this part of the product to its full potential.

Offervault.com is probably the best source for something like that (free).

@comenius - I feel the same way, I have requested for the cancellation of my account and for the refund. No confirmation yet whether they have canceled it or not. Also no word yet from their credit department with regards to my refund. hmmm... they better do it soon because that $40 will be a balance on my credit card and it'll bear interest.

The site has potential to be great but right now it really isn't in my opinion.

Thought I would add my 2 or 3 cents here. Opportunity.com really is a big disappointment. Sorry let me re-phrase that - it's crap. This is supposedly a super duper course that will take a newby to successful affiliate marketer along with an amazing offers engine to find products, yeah right. Here's a great idea - lets post a 5 page pdf about how to upload your website to your hosting account (make sure it's bluehost) along with 3 pages of info about using aweber before there is even a hint of training on creating a website or landing page or even selecting an offer to promote! This is about all that's been added in almost a month. The offer directory offers nothing over a good google search or any of a handful of free offer listing sites. The only thing really unique here is the alerts for new offers that are added.

Have been waiting over a week now for my refund/cancel request with no response. Will be spitting chips if my card is charged again before they cancel me.

It's all very well for these dudes to smile and say this content is on the way, but it is such an obvious (and pathetic) tactic just to keep people hanging on and paying more money for what they should have received in the 1st place.

@jsonter - i've waited over a week for them to give me an automated reply saying that I can cancel my account anytime and that there's a 30 day money back guarantee..

    HOWEVER

i have not received confirmation that my account has indeed been canceled and that I'm getting my refund soon enough.

i was actually planning to come back when there's more content already in the membership site but with the looks of things in the cancellation and refund area...i think i'm going to go somewhere else

I just put in for a refund as well.

My initial support request was never answered even after two weeks.

John Reese appears to have vanished from this thread.

Bottom line, the content does not deliver on the promise of the sales page.

I was willing to give this a chance, but with absolutely no communication, I'm not going to be taking my chances.

      Hey Everyone,

First of all, if you have submitted a request for a refund please rest assured you will receive one. We have never refused to issue a refund to anyone in over 15 years of doing business online.

We have thousands of new customers for Opportunity.com and our support staff is currently overwhelmed with all the different questions and requests that are being submitted. We're adding and training new staff as I write this. So thanks for your patience in waiting for your request to be answered.

Please make sure and check your spam/junk folder as many requests have been answered but the emails get filtered by some ISPs.

As far as the criticism of the site, everyone is entitled to their opinion. We have 20+ hours of training materials in the site now and we're adding more every week. The site is barely even 3 weeks old. However, if anyone isn't happy with what the site already has (regardless of what's being added in the future) again, that's fine. It's not for them and that's okay. It's a challenge to 'balance' the needs of so many different customers. Some need the hand-holding and step-by-step setting up Aweber tutorials while more advanced people don't. So we're working very hard to provide training for all skill levels and are adding more materials on an ongoing basis.

Many people are thrilled with all the valuable content the site has for a $39.95 membership site - and this is only the beginning of what the site will have.

If you have questions about a refund request and need assistance, please feel free to contact me at my personal email address: john (at) income.com and I will personally investigate the issue for you and get back to you ASAP.

      Best Regards

      John Reese

  • Its good but if you already have traffic secrets 2.0 don't worry about it at the moment because he has just recylecled Traffic Secrest 2.0 but I think he is going to add a stack of new stuff over the next 6 months probably be worth it then. I think he is really tring to set up a super affiliate CPA site but he's a good guy. Pay'refunds, keeps his word, delivers good content. Nothing bad to say about him..

DO NOT PURCHASE OPPORTUNITY.COM. I have sent in several help tickets to the support desk and one to John Reese's personal email he provided on the Warrior Forum. It has been 2 months now and I still have yet to receive a single response. This is by far the worst purchase I have made online.

How Frank Kern can pimp John Reese the way he does is beyond me. I have never experienced such a lack of response or respect for someone's hard earned money when they buy your course. John Reese is one hell of a marketer, but he could take a fine lesson in customer service and customer satisfaction.

I'm not one to just jump on and rail on someone, but this is ridiculous. Hire a customer support center if you can't handle it John.

Hey John, if you are reading this (because it looks like you are on this forum more than you are the customer support desk) I would like my money back!
