I got LoveClaw last year from Chris and it is a good plugin if you know how to use it. You can change the wording and style of the buttons to fit your niche. I have found it works best with picture based sites and adding a call to action like "Would your friends find this 1-2-3-4"

I know what you mean about the website that have sprung up. It happens on every launch. I have done a bit of launch jacking myself in the past and it is a cut throat world.

The best thing about LoveClaw in my experience is not the plugin which does increase Facebook shares but getting the invites to Chris's webinars. He share some really cool stuff and seems to be one step ahead of everyone else.

If I was in to making products/wso's I could make one from each webinar's notes.

The plugin does work as described but no one should think you simply add in to a website and you will get 1000's of facebook visitors. You have to be creative and use it a bit more like a mini poll option which just happens to link with facebook.

I guess what really prompted me to start this thread in the first place was the onslaught of promotional emails (about 3 or 4 today alone). I realize there are different personalities; some people jump on new, cutting edge products when they're released. Others (like me), sit out the initial buying frenzy and wait. There really isn't a "right" or "wrong" in those regards, it's all personal preference.

Here's an interesting article: Know the five types of buyers - Milwaukee - The Business Journal. What I find most interesting is #1 which represents only 2% of the buying market. Even when you add #2, you only come up with about 17% of your market. The bulk of your buyers live outside the initial launch. I reside between #3 and #4

Why would red flags go up for you because people are promoting a product? Simple promotion of a product is in NO WAY an indication of the quality of a product. You've got some pretty strange logic there.

Good question!

The "red flags" you quoted was in my 1st post. My 2nd post clarified what type of buyer I am (I fall into the 39th percentile more or less). You're correct, whether a product is heavily promoted or not does not reflect the product's quality. Ableit product launch buyers represent only 2% of the entire market, seems all marketing efforts are placed there.

So, speaking from my own personality type, which is far and away one of the largest segments of buyers, anyone outside of my comfort zone makes me uncomfortable. We all do it whether we admit it or not; I'm keeping it real.

As marketers, shouldn't we embrace our customers' personality types? In my rant about live webinars (in my sig), I'm basically telling marketers how to sell to me! In other words, I'm handing a marketer the key to my wallet.

If they don't want to listen to me (the buyer) but insist that I bend my life around their schedule, sorry.. not happening.

I realize I'm in the minority on this, but to what extent I have no idea: when I'm doing my daily internet browsing, I very rarely (maybe less <1%) press the "Like" button on websites (or the G +1 either). I don't know why I avoid those buttons, but I just do. However, I can see your point, Andy.

Yes, it's like anything though. Not everyone does the same thing or works in the same way. You will always get a percentage though. Features and add-ons such as Facebook Likes and Google+1's will "probably" be more effective in non IM niches... ie - the general internet user / consumer.

Some will and some won't.. but that is fine. Better to have it and have "some" than none at all.

Here's the thing, Have a look at the Huffington post, If your content is something that care about, such as politics, then Love Claw will make it go ultra viral.

For example, say you had a "ban handguns" blog.

Only the people who wanted to ban handguns would "like" your posts.

With Love Claw, people who DISAGREED would share your content as well, because of emotion. Hope that helps

Yes I see your point, Simon. As Chris pointed out himself, LC helps websites/blogs that are already engaging their readers. He goes on to qualify the effectiveness of the tool by emphasizing a website should have quality content. If a site is already engaging their readers, I can see how LC can be a useful tool. But, just about every marketing email I've received would lead you to believe that by simply installing this plug-in, your website(s) will go ultra-viral.

In a similar fashion, CommentLuv does a remarkable job in its own right.

A large part of The LoveClaw marketing involves pushing the buyer's emotional buttons. You're supporting/buying LC because _______ (fill in the blank). If you speak critically of a product, the supporters (and those that have a vested interest) will attack and discredit you. Try going to just about any in-person MLM meeting and speak critically (not disrespectfully, but raise valid objections). You're quickly shown the door.

Er, um, there is always somebody who would click the Works Great! button for a hemorrhoid cream (or anything!), and who wants the world to know it.

Seriously though, being able to change the text of the buttons means it could work for something like this...or pretty much anything with a little creative thinking.

I know this is all about emotion and engaging readers. It's probably safe to say this works well with hot-button issues (birth control, gun control, religion, etc). I just don't see a mediocre blog post/article drawing much "viral" emotion.

If you want viral, be original (just like everyone else).

No seriously, you all have pretty much heard that lady's quote, "aint nobody got time fo dat!" Well that news station got a lot of exposure because the news director decided to run that story.

How about monster truck shows? ever seen one of them roll over 2 dozen times then catch on fire while the driver makes it out alive? That crash will get re-played over and over via YouTube and countless blooper programs. And guess what? All the sponsors on that truck get free advertising.

Same with NASCAR; the cars are basically an ad on wheels. Have a big wreck and you'll have endless free advertising.

So what you are suggesting is that I should CRASH my website into yours and then post a YouTube video of them going up in flames?

I do think the art of creating potentially viral content is a rare gift. Sure I want to engage people's emotions, but knowing the effect I want to have is different than knowing how to make it happen. I would like there to be more emphasis in the LoveClaw training on Content that Went Viral and Stuff that Didn't.

It's like if someone tells you to act cool or be sexy, how do you figure out what the hell that is? By watching what other people are doing? Or by a lot of trial and error and seeing how people respond?? That's why Jr. High is such a disaster, we were all trying to be cool or sexy (or both) and our first attempts at doing that, didn't really work.

I like Chris's idea and I've bought LoveClaw, but I'm still struggling for that sexy, viral, cool content. In real life (offline) too -- ha ha! My husband is my high school sweetheart and we always joke that he saw past my nerdy exterior. My profile picture will give you some idea. Not a lot has changed.

I think its a fabulous idea since it gets the user to "do something about it"... and the ability to customize the image and text only adds to the flexibility.

And believe me, non-IM people are absolutely clueless about all our gizmos!!

Nope, I am not an affiliate, I don't even own it yet, but I am thinking of giving it a spin if it REALLLLLY does everything that they hype! Lol, just search for lovecla review, and just see the number of affiliates beefing this up!!

Its up to you whether you include positive or negative emotions with LoveClaw. You can choose exactly what emotions, opinions or call to actions you want.

And negative opinions and emotions are exceptionally powerful. People can be even more passionate on sharing on the negative side, so it drives more traffic, and also provides your audience with an honest perspective.

The negative emotions are not necessarily directed at your website/article, but at what you discuss or review.

For example, negative opinions and emotions are PERFECT for a product review site. Its the exact reason Amazon allows its audience to leave a one star review. Honest opinions are really valuable to your audience, especially when it comes to product reviews.

Still no refund and I have conformed to all their requests providing detailed information why I want a refund, however their insistence backwards and forwards of "support emails" are nothing more than delay tactics in providing a refund! Did your support staff ever work for Sky retention department? They also provide crap support!

Do your stand by their own 100% satisfaction guarantee ? Up to now NO! I have requested a refund 72 hours ago....NOT GOOD.

That is covered in the LoveClaw live training (replays available). There is over 12 hours of training, and the last session does critiques of people's work to show you how to improve, it is very eye opening.

Firstly it is the weekend so please be patient. Many software companies do not offer support over the weekend, we are one of the few that do, although replies will be slower than during the week.

As stated in our refund policy we will try to find a solution to your problem, if we can't find a solution then we will refund. This is because we care about getting our customers results.

Looking at your ticket you gave us no chance to rectify the issue you were facing - and sent in multiple tickets within hours over the weekend- you were not giving us a chance to respond, especially given it was a weekend.

In addition you would not tell us the site you had the problem or give any other information when we offered to fix the issue.

Based on the little information you gave we did offer an explanation of what was happening, however, you simply ignored this and demanded a refund. If you actually allowed us to help you, you would have got the desired results you wanted from the software.

I think the issue was that you were having people click to share, but then they never actually submitted the share. We also don't count multiple shares from the same person/IP and you mentioned you did it in your workplace, which would explain that. We do that to prevent a group of people in an office gaming the system. Donna on the support team explained this to you. You ignored this reply and also refused to give us more information such as the site you were having an issue with, so we could investigate further.

I see Donna put your refund through to be processed yesterday and your account has been closed, and access to all training revoked.

As much as we try, we often can't help people who don't want to be helped, and those people will just lose out and get less traffic.

Hopefully you can understand the only thing we were trying to do was help you, and if you go back through our answers to your support tickets you will find that is exactly what we did.

As much as we try, we often can't help people who don't want to be helped, and those people will just lose out and get less traffic.

You can't please everyone Chris, and especially these people, the ones who'll mail you 17 times in a day, and blast in here that "you dont reply"!!

Its better to just refund these people and move on to help those who really want and appreciate the hand...

With all due respect, Chris, viral content cannot be categorized as a "science." There are countless humorous and thought-provoking articles all across the internet. If any one person had the scientific recipe to make their content go viral, they could retire a billionaire.

Anyone here ever heard of the website T-Rex Runner? Probably not even though she writes very well, posts often, and has a considerable amount of subscribers. If she only had the proper training found in your members area. :rolleyes:

After pulling in millions of visitors and been active in the underground viral scene for several years I can tell you that it is a science.

What looks random, is actually people following a formula, whether they derived it through natural talent, accident, or testing.

Like anything in Science there is always more to learn and more tests to do, and given the human element the environment constantly changes. Don't confuse 'science' with meaning an exact method that works every time - science is a process, and there's still a lot to learn.

It is the change in environment which throws most people and they assume it is random (it appears so on the surface) which looks to create random outcomes. Like why a music genre suddenly popular, then unpopular. A similar phenomenon happens in viral campaigns.

But just like you can link the popularity of music genres with the movement in the stock market and changes in technology, you can do similar things with the environment of popular discussion topics. For example, the rise in popularity of zombie and horror topics is also linked with the stock market.

During the boom times of the 80s and early 90s it gave rise to those wonderful happy disney stories we remember today like Beauty & The Beast (love people for who they are), but today during economic turmoil the movies from disney have darker undertones like WALL-E (the self destructive nature of man) and ICE AGE (the destruction of natural habitat and fight against extinction).

Topics like this are just poorly understood but with the growth of social media and technology tracking various aspects of society, it is becoming more predictable. It is not unpredictable, but the outcomes probability based, and hard to interpret.

Don't confuse 'science' with meaning an exact step by step system with a guarantee of results - there is no exact step by step system in business, just like with a viral campaign.

But there are a set of fundamental principles to follow and essentially a general formula to follow, which are based on the science of human psychology and can be tested, and tweaked, but results may differ depending on the current environment.

However, if you don't want to accept that its cool - as there's definitely a philosophical element to how you view the world. To put it in a simpler way...

Going viral is not an accident. It is a skill that can be learned and there are various rules and techniques which get results.

If this was not true then there would be no way to improve you effective your viral campaigns are. Yet people who have followed my advice have seen their campaigns go from failure to 6 figure traffic.

And the fundamentals are very simple to understand, and you will see things in a very different way after grasping them.

Even if you put a 'negative emotion' on the button such as 'I hate this', when they click on it they will still be doing a 'like' in Facebook.

Surely you can't change that and are just changing the button they click on, not the action?

Or are you tricking them into doing a Facebook like when they think they are disagreeing?

Cash Money, when they click any LoveClaw button, they are shown a comment box where they can type anything they want.

Even if it's negative, it can be good for you because someone who disagrees with them might comment back to make their point. The discussion is what can make it go viral.

Many people love a controversial argument and will go on for ages, back and forth. And, every comment is another link back to your site.
