I am aware of a Reputation Management Company that gets reviews by contacting potential reviewers and getting their approval to post on reviewer's behalf on Google, Yelp, etc. Doesn't Google check IP addresses and can tell if they are from one location? They also suggest I carry around a laptop and have people use it to post reviews. Again, isn't this detectable?

    Google can't check ip addresses in yelp or anything else they don't own. Yelp can tell when it is the same ip address on their site.

    Even if you carrying your laptop around to let people writing reviews on that. You still need clear cookies and flash cookies which yelp can track your computer to recognize your ip, browser version, OS and some installed programs in your laptop. I suggest you create new user every time you have different people use it to write reviews on.
