iwriter -v- ineedarticles

Has anyone used any of the above article writing sites? If so, were you totally satisfied with the quality of writing? Would the article content be suitable for your site? I am interested to use such a service and looked at textbrokers, but their prices seem a bit on the high side. I guess though, you get what you pay for.

    I use iwriter almost exclusively. I am very impressed with the quality however you're right, you get what you pay for. I pay for upwards of $18 for a 1000 word article. The great thing about iwriter is you can request rewrites and/or reject content if it isn't suitable to your standard (which I do constantly)

    I also mention in my special notes section that I'm a hound for killer content and grammar and will disapprove any article, it usually keeps people who write aimlessly at bay.

      You should be able to ask for re-writes and reject content from anyone writing articles.

      I'm curious as to why you think you would not be able to. If anyone was unhappy with my work, they could get a re-write, as many as made sense to me...after that if I thought they would never be satisfied, I would refund their money anyway.

    I've had a little experience with Iwriter.

    It seems that 90% of the writers aren't native english speakers, causing a lot of errors, I had to spend a lot of time sifting through all the garbage to get the good ones. Dont get me wrong though, there are a few good writers there.
    Putting the article so that only the best can submit is one way, but I've found that this greatly increases response time.

    I haven't tried ineedarticles, I might give it a go the next time I need an article or two!

      I've tried iwriter with a couple of articles and I wasn't that impressed. As Sam stated above, I agree that the majority of them aren't native English speakers. It wasn't just the grammar but the sentence structure was all wrong too.

      The good thing about it is you can refuse an article as many times as you want and Brad Callen, the owner and trusted warrior, even states that he doesn't want us to spend a cent until we're 100% happy!

      This was a couple of months ago though so maybe it's better now.

      I say this because, a few weeks ago, I received an email from Brad asking for feedback to improve the quality of articles being produced. I haven't been back to try them out yet, as I don't need any articles, but if I ever do, I will definitely give iwriter another go.

      ~~~
      I haven't tried ineedarticles yet but I'm betting the quality will be very good. The owner, Jon Leger (another trusted warrior) will be pretty fussy, for sure, when it comes to quality. Will definitely give it a go too when I'm in the need for articles again.
          Clearly they must be. I got an invite to sign up as a writer yesterday and tried their test to write an article in 30 minutes. I got a reply literally 1 minute after submitting it saying that my application was turned down. Now am not really bothered because I don't like writing articles and only did it out of curiosity. But was a bit annoyed they turned it down so damned quickly (imo they automate the replies instead of using human reviewers) and no explanation as to why I was turned down. For the record a few years back I did article marketing and have had several thousands hits to them and many sales and, even if I say so myself, the articles I wrote were pretty good although it took me a lot longer to write them than 30 minutes.
          [QUOTE=Marty S;8018565]This goes both ways as I have written top quality articles for buyers on iWriter and many of them, to me have no clue how to properly request writing (in good English) and in addition are often pre-occupied with the wrong focus such as keyword density and copyscape. [QUOTE]
          Actually Marty, this is not the case with me - I don't care about keyword density but I do care about whether or not the articles are original and well written.
          Now if the two writers that wrote my articles were fluent in English, they would have understood what I wanted written and the style I wanted it written in.
          Unfortunately...they didn't!
              I just recently started using iwriter, and have found that requesting specific writers with excellent rating works well to make sure they do quality work.
                iWriter seems to be the dominating service in this thread, with not much being said about the iNeedArticles service.
                TBH, I never even knew Jon Leger was working on something like this. Most his emails I delete now, without opening them, as it got bizarrely promotional for the ArticleBuilder.Net service.
                Giving that he's a software developer, mainly The Best Spinner and then there was the Instant Article Wizard software...what concerns me is the clients he'll have.
                Jon's mailing list, as big as it'll be, I suspect is going to consist of clients who like automation. Using The Best Spinner to churn out tons of articles, off the one page of content. To me that's people looking for quantity and not quality. Whether it's the case is yet to be seen.
                To find out more about the service, I've created the account and submitted a test article. One which I will say, although allocated 30 minutes, I was sure not to spend too much time on the creation, and rather just pull up a few pages for research, then churn out basic sentences, and submitted it for review.
                The content put in for the application process, which all in, took a total of 25 minutes (including account creation, reading the terms, and style guidelines) and yes...that was unpaid, so if it's rejected...no sweat. I'll carry on with my own clients, but for downtime, the service would be neat to fill in a half hour here and there. IMO, provided the quality isn't needing to be top notch.
                I mention this as I feel it's pertinent to clients to know the details writers will put into creating the content. With low pays, it's speed that counts. $10 may buy you an hour for a writer to create your content. If it's lowered to $2 - $5, the time spent on content creation is lowered, resulting in lower research time. Might be helpful to consider that when using writing services.
                Going by the style guidelines, writers are advised not to be nit picky about the content they produce. It's asked that you understand what the content will be used for, and I assume from the description, it's for marketing purposes, rather than web copy.
                There is a structure to the articles and a method that Jon advises to remember.
                G.A.S.S
                Grammar
                Accuracy
                Spelling
                Speed
                The grammar is probably why I'll get rejected. I use commas "a lot." Paragraphs should be no longer than 4 sentences, which is my style anyway, so no issues there.
                Accuracy and Spelling I'd say go hand in hand - I use MS Word and you can paste directly in, so the spell check is MS Word ensures the spelling's correct. Grammar wise, I'm just used to the green lines under things like....
                You'll
                Wouldn't
                Couldn't
                I'll
                Any words that's abbreviated and then the sentence structure. Mine is always getting, "shorten your sentence stuff" in the grammar help box.
                Like I say, I use commas a lot, but clients don't have an issue with it and it's often why they come back for more. Uniqueness, quality and writing that flows from one paragraph to the next. Readable, and understandable.
                The speed aspect. It's going to have to be fast with I.N.A, and given that there's nothing in the G.A.S.S formula to cover the topic of quality, I reckon it's only words clients want, and not website copy, optimized, keyword density, killer content and all the rest of the stuff.
                That's my expectations from originally looking into the service. What it's like writing for them I can't say, as I'm not approved as of yet, so I'll need to wait and see what happens there.
                I have to say though, for something that's currently closed to new clients, I do feel it was a relatively quiet service launch, so how it got so busy, so fast, has me intrigued.
                If it does turn out to be similar to iWriter, perhaps it's for the best. It'll give pros more leeway to work with appreciative clients, willing to pay for quality, and the low-ballers will have another place to go get cheap content.
                Another reason I don't like to take on rewrites, and when I do, it's subject to a decent informational page, with no research req'd. Otherwise, it's the rates for an original article.
                Back to the article writing service:
                Here's why I'm interested in it, and perhaps other writers can relate.
                When you're working with a handful of clients. (I'm currently 6 clients, full-time) working on the same, or close topics, for me it gets tedious from time to time.
                I switch between them, so I can continue writing with a fresh perspective, rather than edit when I see I've repeated some information. I need a switch every now and then, so I'll move onto another topic, or take a break.
                Breaks cost money, and if I'm on downtime of a couple of hours a day, I'm down about 20 bucks.
                While services like the 2 mentioned I don't expect to be able to recuperate the cost of downtime, it will certainly help towards covering the cost, while sharpening speed writing skills, and improving research speed, as well.
                Sometimes, it isn't all about the money. Quality takes time to produce, and when you have rates that doesn't equate to a decent hourly, there's skills still need sharpened.
                For me that's speeding up research, proofing and editing.
                As those improve, content I expect will naturally progress much faster, therefore increasing the hourly rates.
                Anything that can help do that, I'm willing to give it a try. I did it with iWriter, and that was a waste of time, so only time will tell.
                As for iNeedArticles Vs iWriter. I'm not too bothered about the services. I'm more interested to know what's going on behind the service. What the owners are like with their writers.
                A bit of respect goes a long way with me, so rather than a service comparison, I'd be more inclined towards a comparison of Jon Leger Vs Brad Callen and see who has the most respect for their team of writers.
                Time will tell
                Robbie
                Edit: Recieved a reply back from INA. Application declined. No reason as to why, just an automated response saying...
                Dear Robbie,
                We regret to inform you that your writing test was not approved.
                Thank you for taking the time to apply.
          Spot on Marty. Some buyers reject near perfect articles in terms of grammar, syntax, sentence construction and sadly, iwriter does not protect writers from such buyers. It would help if they could allow writers to appeal unfair rejections. One of the ways iwriter can protect good writers from bad clients is to have a team of editors to settle disputes between buyers and writers. As it stands, iwriter's rating system may be unfair to some good writers.
Unfortunately, iWriter fails to protect the effort, time, and work of good writers - instead allowing unfair grading and poor comments by requestors who cannot reasonably recognize quality writing.
          And yes, I do have the highest writer rating at iWriter you can get (4.83/5.0), but a lot of the requests for articles there range from unreasonable to bizarre. I've seen requests go unfilled for a year there, so it's not me!
          This thread is focusing on the quality of writing that is the downfall of iWriter, like all requestors are just awesome. Not even close.
            Hi, what Marty is saying is, unfortunately, not true. Sorry Marty. Please don't take offense.
            Also, the thread you pointed out is almost a full year old when iWriter was still in it's infancy. In internet time, that's ages. A LOT has changed since then.
            If a writer's article is rejected unfairly, and they submit a support ticket letting us know about it, we always manually review the situation. If the writer is found to be correct, we (at the very least, remove the bad rating). And at the best, we also award the writer with payment for the article. The only way to be 100% fair to both the writer and the requester is to manually review any cases brought to our attention, which we take great pride in doing. So, yes, we definitely do allow writers to appeal. The same goes to requesters.
            Marty, "Word Magician", or anyone else, if you submit a support ticket and let Amanda or one of our other support specialists know, we have and will always manually review things for you.
            Thanks for your interest in iWriter.
              Thanks for pointing out the changes, however it was true at one point - I know because it happened to me.
              Glad to see you have implemented a structure for good writers though. As I have recently logged in, there seems to be no notice of this however, so maybe it would be a good idea to alert writers of this change of policy and procedure.
    I've had 4 articles written by iWriter writers, 3 were rejected while 1 was exceptionally high quality.
    The first 2 articles was for 500 words and allowed any writer to submit, the articles submitted by 3 different writers were paragraphs strung together and then respun.
    One article I requested, 1000 words, only allowed from 4-5 star writers, the first article submitted was amazing high quality, the writer went above and beyond what I requested, this writer used initiative and you could clearly see they actually did research on the topic. Took the writer 5 hours to submit an article. I increased the default of $18 to $20 and at the end of this transaction I also sent the writer a Tip of an additional $20 for their quality work.
    Because of this quality, I decided to use the service again. This time I was no so lucky, the article was to talk about the benefits of a chemical, however the writer did not even discuss any benefits, only the negative. The writer was so far off topic I wondered if I had actually stuffed up the request.
    Overall, I think the service is great, I like that you can reject articles and flag the writer as unfit for work, or if you like the writer you can also flag them fit for work and request articles by them.
    I think the option to send the writer additional funds is a good idea.
      Hiring out written content clearly lies within the conundrum of the "Pick Any Two"
      scenario.
      You have three choices to select from:
      1) Fast
      2) Cheap
      3) Good Quality
      But, from your three choices above, you can only pick two.
      So, you can have your work done quickly and cheaply, but you won't get good quality. You can have your work done for a low cost and of good quality but you won't get it very quickly. Or you can have it done quickly and of good quality, but it is not going to be cheap.
