    Hello Spen,

I cannot stress enough how absolutely opposed to iPage I am.

I tried them out and not only are their servers shitty
(which means it took my webpage at LEAST 1 full minute to load IF IT LOADED AT ALL!!!)

But their customer services is horrible as well.

They charged my account for a full years worth of hosting WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER

because they automatically have a forced opt-in to autorenew and I had to call them THREE times before they turned this autorenew feature off.

I gave them another shot for a few months, and decided that I needed to switch to trusty dusty HostGator because my webpages were not loading AT ALL during peak hours of the day which means a giant loss in potential sales.

I literally had to send them about 8 messages AND call them in order to get a refund for the remaining amount they owed me for the year.

All in all, DON'T USE iPage.

They might be super cheap, but you definitely get less than you pay for.

HostGator is the only hosting service I trust.

I hope this helps! Take Care!

    - Nina

Ipage is owned by EIG, which owns HostGator, BlueHost, HostMonster, JustHost etc etc. They're all the same company. What are your requirements?

This answer gets thrown around a lot every time someone starts a web hosting discussion, much like a broken record. And while it is 100% accurate, all things are not always equal despite coming from the same company.

I used iPage for about a year. Results? Slow as s*it.

Then I switched to HostGator. Results? Fast as s*it.

I've been on HG for roughly a year and a half now, and i'm still quite happy with it.

I suggest everyone goes for HG over iPage any day, even if they're both owned by blah blah blah and yada yada yada. Sure, HG could one day become slow like iPage, but at the time of this writing (and considering the amount of time I've been using HG) there is no real indication of bad things happening.

Another option is, of course, to consider an entirely different company if you want to play it safe.

I have an iPage web hosting account and it's true that their servers go down from time to time. I think they go down 3-5 times a month.

I can't say anything about speed because I never host WordPress sites there (only static HTML sites). So far the speed is okay.

The only reason I got an iPage account is because they offered me a $1 for one year promo. I use them only for my not-so-important websites.

I just use ipage and they have the worse system ever. When I install wordpress using simple script on my brand new ipage account I got error said that my disk space is FULL. Try to contact the support, they said it was an error on my account.

After 3 days, it fix then i installed wordpress on it. Then the next day when i want to access my blog, I got database error. Contact them again they said it was a maintenance is on process.

    I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM...

Positive. I'd suggest finding a provider that can help you better.

Like others have mentioned in this thread, ipage is one of the hosts you will definitely want to stay away from. They have one of the most terrible support you will ever encounter.

As I experienced the servers is too slow. If you have a website with few HTML pages than it works ok but yet it will atleast take 10 to 20 seconds to resolve it. At the same time if you're attempting to utilize Wordpress or any possible Mysql/php database sort web script than you will be disappointed. The pricing is correct yet what would you be able to do with a web host that takes a long time to purpose your web address. Scarcely more than WAIT!
Additionally it fails to offer a ton of server side features offered by other web host. Like for one you can't utilization Magento do to a certain database service it doesn't offer since you're on an imparted host and it will back off the other imparted host. I feel like it is already too slow.

I have been using Ipage for the past 2 years and I considered their services ok until I started an ecommerce site. Then the nightmare began. The site is loading slow once you get to the 3rd or 4th page. The servers go down on a regular basis, I get server connection errors when I do a lot of work in the Wordpress dashboard. The support is pathetic; for a week I am trying to get my site backed up with Press Vault but they keep getting disconnected by Ipage. I contacted them and they are cloeless to help me in this direction. I am in process of switching to Hostgator , I hope to get the site moved without many problems.
