What eCover Software is Best?

Hi all...

I would like to create a nice eBook cover for my website. What software are the gurus using and what is the best?

If you know of any free eBook cover creator software which do not have any watermark on the final product, do share too.

Thanks!

    Hello,

Try using TBS Cover editor - use free trial..

Many gurus, almost all, hires the professional designers to design their site and to make ecovers. Some designers uses Cover Action pro script -> for photoshop.

If you use PhotoShop then I would go for CoverActionPro - if you don't then try Quick3DCover from NervePreserve

If you are looking for a eCover for only one website, then a better option would be hire one of the many designers in this forum. Buying eCover software and making one yourself would be more expensive and very time consuming. I would recommend it only if you need graphics for many projects.

I could design one for you if you are interested, just let me know. You could also scan the WSO section, as there are many talented designers here having offers.

But if you still want to design them yourself. Id suggest CoverActionPro which you can use with photoshop. They are the most popular ones around. But there are other good ones as well which you have already been pointed to.

    Good luck!

I been a member for a while but have just sat back and watched the action as it unfolds, but today I thought I would stick my 2 pennies worth in lol.

Boxshot3D is really easy to use and produces great results, its a stand alone program aswell(I find photoshop really hard to use)

I ended up buying PhotoShop Action Scripts Photoshop Actions - ebook Cover Software last week. It has 40 to 50 action scripts (and one is a clipboard which I needed) and their customer service is fast and helpful. I knew almost nothing about Photoshop CS4 when I started and have created a couple awesome looking ecovers. Now I know my way around Photoshop thanks to them answering a few questions of mine.

I always recommend eCoverSuiteElite, Just because I bought both CoverActionPro and eCoverSuiteElite, and the support from the guys at eCoverSuiteElite was 100 times better than coveractionpro. They're both great though. I just prefer eCoverSuite

'1 Click Covers' sure has compelling sales copy. I was wondering if the 100 ecover swipe files he includes as a bonus are editable? Or are they just to be used to get ideas for creating your own?

      Thanks

        Just wondering,

A lot of these programs only work with recent versions of Photoshop. I only use it occasionally so still only have Photoshop 5.0.

Does anybody know of a good eBook cover creator software that works with this version?

Alternatively, how much would a graphic designer here on WF charge to do some graphics (~ 20 different CD & report covers + a photo of the whole bundle)? I know it depends but just ballpark.

        Thanks!

GFX Writer is a simple light weight program that is fine for many applications. The ecover/banner images won't be anywhere near the resolution you will get with the programs mentioned here though, but it only cost me $7.77.

2 questions about these programs please...

        1) I own Photoshop but have very little experience with it. I was wondering if anyone can tell me which of the programs mentioned (Cover Action Pro, Black Belt Covers, Photoshop Action Scripts, Box Shot 3D, eCover Suite Elite, and 1 Click Covers) come with clear NEWBIE type instructions for how to create all the covers? I'm looking for instructions that assume that the user is new to Photoshop. Videos would be best too.

        2) I know that just creating the graphics (the pretty pictures seen on the covers) is going to be my greatest challenge. Do any of these programs come with tons of great graphic templates that you can use for the covers?

Any info will be greatly appreciated!

        Thank you very much.

          STEVE :

I have a pretty good experience with Photoshop, but I kinda lack in the design department. For my ecovers I just hire a professional to do them for me. I usually get them in packages (dvd, ebook, banners, etc.) for a discount since I know I'll be using them anyway.

If you don't trust yourself with the design, hiring a professional, who has the tools and the right images, can really greatly increase the perceived value of your product, compared to if you did them yourself.

I believe these paid softwares would be better used for the designers themselves.

          Hope that helps!

I highly recommended Cover Action Pro - Photoshop Actions , below is a ecover I created using their pervious version. They have a newer version out now. Its so easy to use a newbie can use it.

      1) Did you create all the ecovers on this site Plr Audio Interviews using the Cover Action Pro?

      2) Are you a graphic designer?

      3) Where did you get the images you used for all the ecovers?

      4) Did you order their 'Extreme' package which lets you show bundles?

      Thank you

Just did a bit more digging and found this...

    warriorforum.com/internet-marketing-product-reviews-ratings/66211-gfx-writer-ecover-creator-2-0-a.html

Both products - GFX and eCover Craetor 2.0 can run without Photoshop. Does anyone know if any of these can create "bundle" images? (don't show any photos on either sales page..)

    thanks again,
    Dave

I have been very impressed with CoverActionPro. As mentioned, it does require Photoshop. You can create professional looking products in minutes. My biggest challenge has been finding the right graphics and creating a layout that rivals those of professional designers.

For smaller project or a one-off, you can create really nice covers/dvds/boxes with CoverActionPro. But if you are doing a major product launch & want the full package design package, I would suggest getting a pro. Spending $200-300 for a website design, ecover package will really boost the credibility of your product.

    Hi jkadams,

Thanks for the recommendation. Only issues with CoverActionPro for me is that it doesn't work with Photoshop 5 although it does seem like a nice product. For now I was able to manage..

    Thanks,
