Optimizepress 2.0 review

Can anyone who purchased 2.0 please give some details as there isn't much info on their website:

1 - what do the blog templates look like for articles? Are there member based restriction options for viewing full articles?

2 - What kind of different membership levels are available in 2.0 for us to use? Looking for quality of sales funnels and landing page options?

3 - Drip feed content - viewable countdown timer with expiration for oto built into the ip address and displayed on the page?

4 - Page templates - possible to have unlimited unique settings and designs for individual pages?

5 - Salespress has great video features... are any of these available?
a) When pausing video - newsletter sign up form pops up?
b) force sign up to newsletter before watching video content locker?
c) hidden 'buy now' button that shows after x minutes of watching video?

6 - exit pop up redirects?

7 - time based redirect script?

8 - any idea on page load times? quality of coding? problems with other wp plugins, etc?

I'm on the fence between Salespress 2.0 and Optimizepress 2.0.
For new customers:
Salespress 2.0 - $77 unlimited sites
Optimizepress 2.0 - $97 (3 sites) and $197 (10 sites) $297 unlimited

Is there any reason to pay more for Optimizepress? Thanks for your advice!

I'm also wondering why the packages offered don't allow me to use it for my clients sites if required, could be a great fit for some.

You can email the customer support with the name and email address and they will let you buy for a discount. You want a reseller option.

You have to send payment to their paypal address. It's about $50 for a reseller license.

Basically, they are giving you a reduction on your affiliate commission.

Or you can do it the way I do it...

I take the fee from my client and buy the optimizepress theme through my own affiliate link.

They said either option works for them.

I will be back in one second with the email they sent me.

        HERE'S THE UPDATE:

        From the horses mouth....

        .................................................. ...................

        Hi Chris

You can purchase through your affiliate link, but perhaps a better way would be our developer agreement which is currently valid for version 1 (this may change with the launch of version 2 in a few months)

Basically if you have your own Optimizepress license (Fully paid license) you can purchase additional licenses to use for client sites for $52 each. This is not meant as any kind of reseller agreement but if you are building for clients this is the arragement we have

You would simply send $52 to sales@optimizepress.com and then send in a ticket to our helpdesk (support@optimizepress.com) with the transaction ID and the information for the client to be setup and our team wil set that up for you

If you have any more questions just let me know

        Best regards
        Laura
        OptimizePress Affiliate Manager

        .................................................. ......................

You need to contact the helpdesk to confirm this is still applicable to OptimizePress version 2.

Basically you buy developer option for your clients.

I see that for the existing customers, they have a 10 site package for $99. For new customers they have a 3 site package for $97. Do existing customers have a 3 site license option?

          Hi Marcs,

          Thanks for commenting :-)

Just to be sure, because english is not my native language... I'm not talking about using the same license on two sites at the same time... My question is if the license "expires" (you can't use again) when you activate an installation, and you can't use it again even if you uninstall or unregister this license.

I ask this because it is not clear to me on the license or the documentation...

Usually when I purchase something that has a license activation system (like WPSubscribers) you can "register" or "activate" one license that is tied to a domain, wp installation, etc. But when you don't longer need that service on that particular website/domain you can just "deactivate"/delete/"unregister" that license and it is free again to use.

If that is the case of Optimizepress? I don't want to use the three licenses at the same time on several website, just want to be able to use them when/where I need them. I don't want to be afraid to use one license on the wrong website and lose it.

          Thanks for the feedback!

I mean, if I install and activate the plugin/theme in a site I use one license... but if I delete the plugin/theme the license I used is free again? Or is just for one use?

Also if the licenses are re-usable, is that an easy or automated process, or a difficult one like sending an email, etc.

        Thanks for the info!
i am a current user of OP 2.0 and once you delete the plugin from an active site ....the license return to be free again....

Strange stuff going on with the launch - there was a 2 page launch style template with a long video on the first page here (not affiliate - the link I was emailed)

OptimizePress - 5 Core Pillars to Online Business Success

Yet now they've launched and they're not using the 2nd page of the template, just a page with the 2 minute YouTube video we've already seen.

And there's no discount for existing customers who only want to buy a 3 site license...

        Hmm...

OK. Well, I haven't tried deregistering it myself, so I can't say from experience.

I know I'm quite a trusting guy by nature, but I'd like to think that this is a simple oversight. Doesn't fit my perception of James Dyson, so I'm gonna dig deeper.

But like you say, it could be a costly oversight for him and OP if it's not addressed soon. Customers who aren't ready to invest in the bigger packages aren't ready for a reason... and will be seriously unnerved if your "genie lamp" analogy is in fact accurate.

Please Anyone, kindly let us know if they had chance to now see What are the specific NEW things this optimize press version 2.00 NOW does over the previous one (as I never have used optimize press)
I am curious over version 2.00 and what this new stuff it can now do and added things etc - as seems a lot of over hype as their vids to date was nothing kinda wow that stood out and very vague Hmmm...

Gosh, and Now the disappointing actual release vid live sales page to buy it I have seen told me nothing really still again.... that I could frankly see that caused me wanting to actually get this over their previous to date one...
So I can compare to similar products that I do have i.e. sales press pro (this earlier year - don't need his new latest release bells n' whistles for me the other week he launched and created...) and I have very good Profit theme ... and InstaBuilder plugin.

And then when I know specifically the NEW things I can be open to maybe consider optimize press 2.00 - as right now for me, they were vague as said in video on it hence I just can't see hardly anything that is new, must have, neat or wow over its previous version to want to get this even?
(compared to over what I mentioned above I have already)

I have a BIG sneaky feeling that there will be numerous issues/bugs etc with this launch, people will be more than annoyed with...I maybe wrong lets just see... just get the impression its been rushed and not thought out - so think I will sit back and watch the dramas unfold...

    Thanks
    Jenny

This has been pretty infuriating. I bought OP 2.0 because after doing research on the forum, it seem to be the best all around package to get started making your own IM pages with minimum effort. But it's now 2 days and I still don't have a working key for the product >

You can't launch something like this untested... all I got from support was a "Please advise if you are still unable access", to which I replied NO and that was 4 hours ago. Still no response and no the keys have not been fixed...

Of course you can also create sales pages with OP2. Just look times but the sales page of OP 2 at. It surprises me a little that you should all speak of only 3 sites. There are also larger packages.

    Hi guys,

    An update about licensing issues...

I purchased the Core package (3 licenses) to test how the licensing system works... and I don't like it, not at all.

When you install the plugin/theme you have to activate it with one of the (three in this case) License keys that you can find in your member licensing page at optimizehub.

You introduce the key in the plugin/theme, it gets activated and indeed can check on the licensing page that the key you have used is marked as registered.

However there is no (or I can't find) setting in the worpress/theme installation or in the licensing page to unregister the key. I searched everywhere and could not find it. I tried to delete the license number on the plugin and resend the form, but this does not work. I uninstalled the plugin and the license still shows it is in use on the licenses member page so you can't use it on another installation. I wrote to support about this but I did not receive any answer.

So, unless someone else (or the developer) proves (hopefully) that I'm wrong you can use every license just once, and then it is gone... If that is the case I'm asking for a refund right away.

    Anyone else has tried this?

      I can't imagine that that's the case
That would just be plain idiotic, you should be able to use those 3 licenses for how ever many times you like (Not All At The Same Time obviously).

Is there a members Forum, maybe you can ask there as their support is non existent at the moment.

I agree the one-time-gone-forever license thing does not look right, but it seems that actually is like that... unless they forgot to include a system to unregister licenses... and that would be equally crazy because people would prefer to ask for a refund instead of wait and see if that "feature" is going to be implemented shortly.

Regarding support, it surprises me that there is no official support forum, so I sent a support request from the member page and still have not received a reply...

          1) Most licensing systems for themes and plugins do not automatically remove the domain from the system once you uninstall it. You usually have to send a ticket to the vendor to do this, which is what you did.

          2) I think it would be fair to give them 24 hours to get to your ticket. It's amazing how many people think that a helpdesk from a small business should respond and resolve tickets within just a few hours. They just launched as well. Relax.

Yes, I've done that with another licensing system... I'd be astonished if OP didn't allow you to have it that way. But it probably won't happen all that often so support can deal with it manually instead of coding it into the system.

Btw, I don't like the editor. It loads really slow in my browser and I feel like it takes time. Also, every time you want to edit something you have to click on a symbol and you have to load a page, then you have to press "OK" like three times. I'd rather just use the old way of doing things. Hopefully, they'll add that option. Otherwise, I think I'm just going to ask for a refund.

P.S. It's also bugging as crazy. OP has managed to create the worst editor ever.

Yeah I've bought it..I haven't tried to unregister like you. But from what it seems, it seems that you're right. You can only use a key once.

Side thing: I cannot use advanced settings wheel, which means I can't change the size of columns and the width of rows. This makes my salespage wide as a regular website...

I tried to purchase OP 2.0 but the billing process failed. Tried with 2 separate credit cards - VISA and MasterCard, neither worked.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

Support takes a good few hours to respond and are completely useless.

Sure, it just launched and any early adopter knows you have to put up with some bugs when something goes live for the first time. But so far, my experience plus reading this thread leaves me unimpressed.

Yes, it happened to me, and support told me to make sure the "State" field was filled in accurately. I'm in the Philippines and there is no state, so I toyed with it and finally got it for the general province name where I live.

What do you mean by regular web pages?

It creates: Salespages, Blogs (Which kind of looks like a regular website), Membership Pages And Squeeze Pages.

Keep in mind however, there's just 1-2 themes for every one of them, and they're not very customizable (at least from what I've seen this far..and I've been playing with it all night).

By "regular" do you mean standalone html webpages that don't depend on WordPress? Because if that's what you meant, then it's not the case as far as I can tell.

Clay collins & LeadPages does all the stuff OP2 missed. I was expecting OP2 to do everything Clay missed but not by a country mile. Just to clarify a few things in the thread, the $99 or 97 deal is 3 licenses if you are new and 10 if you are a return customer.

The costs, are better for OP2. Leadpages charges $37 a month or $197 a year...

Optimizepress is a "theme" and used for product launches, membership and content delivery. It integrates with third party plugins to have payment gateway, affiliate management and password protection.

It also integrates with email autoresponders "aweber, getresponse, infusionsoft) and has awesome designed squeeze capture pages.

Leadpages is a "plugin" or an "app" that can be integrated with wordpress or even facebook. It is cool but is different to optimizepress. Different uses. Leadpages is for building a list and encouraging opt-ins.

Thanks guys for your replies and help. I'm not looking at standalone HTML but creating a near to clear front page with no columns but the ability to have widgets.

I guess my wording isn't correct.

I've tried Headways drag and drop theme ( which is good ) where I can basically just configure one block to hold a video for the front sales page but other pages styled with either columns and widgets.

With what I've seen on OP2 video on their sales page that this may be possible but wanted to see if my thoughts were correct.

    Really appreciate you guys replying.

I do have a question for you guys though. What are the pros and cons when it comes to choosing the theme or plugin?

Is there a difference when it comes to server load, for example?

I'm launching a new consulting site, essentially from scratch. Trying to decide whether to let Thesis run the blog and use OP2 for the home and sales pages, or simply go OP2 all the way.*

I'm on the same page as you, James Hessler...

I'm not 100% how the widget thing will integrate with standard OP2 pages. Keeping my fingers crossed there's a simple solution. That said, the flexibility of OP2 could provide a workaround anyway. Depends what functionality you want your widgets to have I guess.

      * The screenshots of the OP2 blog theme (in the dashboard) have confused me a bit. I think they need updating. They look the same at the mo.

Can anyone provide clarity on the subject?

I'm not 100% how the widget thing will integrate with standard OP2 pages. Keeping my fingers crossed there's a simple solution. That said, the flexibility of OP2 could provide a workaround anyway. Depends what functionality you want your widgets to have I guess.

        * The screenshots of the OP2 blog theme (in the dashboard) have confused me a bit. I think they need updating. They look the same at the mo.

Can anyone provide clarity on the subject?

You can select pages with or without widgets.

@rdavison I had completely forgot that. Thanks.

Now to decide whether to go with existing customer discount or buy the 3 site license through an affiliate who's list I'm on( I only need 1 install but 3 is good).

I have OP1 and it worked really well. The training and such was concise as well as getting replies from support when I was 'stuck'.

Thanks again for your replies, reminders, and help

I understand that I could be easier to deal with the deactivation of the licenses via ticket support or similar in some cases, like Scrapebox where your license is tied to your computer and you don't change computer or reinstall the OS too often.

But in the case of this (or other soft) in the IM field I think that you need the ability to activate-deactivate with the push of a button, as you often change themes, change domain, subdomain, to tests, etc.

UPDATE: James reply to my support question saying that they will have a process to deactivate a license that is no longer used, this process just hasn't been setup inside the members area yet.

Thanks Multiverso. Well done for nipping that concern in the bud.

Saved me a job too. Was just about to message James and ask... but assumed he'd be so snowed under and wouldn't have time to answer... yet. Nice work on your part and his. Props all 'round.

Hope that's restored some people's faith. And nice to be reassured that my trust perception radar is on point in this case. heh! James seems like a stand-up gent to me. And others I respect say the same.

Launches can be hectic. I suggest if you're on the fence, just give it a week or two and seek some reviews in the meantime. OP2 isn't going anywhere. Only thing you might miss out on is an affiliate bonus, once the launch comp wraps up. Oh, and the Clubhouse discount.

    ...........................................
    ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS
    ...........................................

1.) The posts look like any normal blog, it's wordpress so you have access to side widgets. There aren't password protected pages, but you can install third party plugins, like Wishlist Member, S2member, Amember, Digital Access Pass or more expensive Nanacast. These all secure content and have affiliate management attached to them. They also work with payment gateways like 1shoppingcart, paypal and authorize.net.

[UPDATE TO THE ABOVE: it does look like they have the ability to have username and passwords protection but you have other third party options if you need them as stated above.]

2.) I answered this above. If you want membership levels then best get a plugin to do this that communicated with shopping cart. Optimizepress is just a wordpress theme that gives you cutting edge and high converting designs. It gives you the layouts, but the technical details need to be done through plugins that optimizepress is compatible with.

3.) Drip feed content - this is for a product launch style promotion, where you want to give free content as a buildup to the launch. People opt-in with email to watch the videos and can be dripped over a few days, so people get used to seeing your emails and opening them when you notify of the next free video in the series. Then when you come to launch people are more likely to take action since you have effective trained them to look out for your emails and take action. Drip feeding the content builds up anticipation and excitement and hunger for more content. It also stops people getting overwhelmed with information all at once which might turn them off.

4.) Yes, you can have unlimited designs, since you can use optimize press as a starting point and then customize the CSS and HTML to fit your requirements. Get a designer quite cheaply at Odesk, fiverr or even here on warrior forum.

    5.)
    a) This can easily be added - get a HTML coder to help. (it's wordpress - fully customizable - someoneone on Fiverr.com can do this for $5.)
    b) (it's wordpress - fully customizable - someoneone on Fiverr.com can do this for $5.)
    c) YES it was there in Optimizepress 1.

6.) Are you asking what this is?? If so, this means that if someone goes to exit without buying on sales page or opting in with their email on a squeeze page, then a message can appear or it can redirect. For instance it could redirect to a cheaper or discounted option page.

If you're asking if they have it, yes they do. If not, then again....easily get a coder to help.

7.) likely you can do this. if not, get a coder cheaply. fiverr.com, odesk.com

8.) this is all good. they are high quality designers. you can tell by the optimizepress homepage since he is using similar design. it seems to load fast. no problem with other wordpress plugins....it is built for most of them. it's just a theme. most problems arise with conflicting plugins with other plugins.

The training alone is worth getting optmizepress for. they teach you how to integrate with third party software and plugins so you can have a fully functional product from when the visitor hits your site, email signup, payment gateway and content delivery.

The designs alone will get you higher conversions without customizing them. Gone are the days of slapping up cheap looking sites with red headlines. Customers expect a high quality and more professional design. With Optimizepress you can do this cheaply without a designer.

    .................................................. ...............................

    Cheers,

    Chris

p.s. if anyone is interested then I have a bonus for this on my blog - Commission Diary.

The offer of OP2 is that one needs no further plug-in to create members pages. But you can integrate existing plugins.

Can you confirm that I can therefore create a members only page with OP2 without a foreign plugin?

    Thank you very much

I am not 100% certain if they have this option in the upgrade. It says on the homepage "Secure Membership Portals" so I would say that they have integrated it.

If not, then just use the free plugin S2Member to secure the content on your chosen member page. It's simple to use.

I'm not saying that at all. I am not sure, but from the email Laura sent me it seems as though they "might" change things. This email was sent to me a few months ago.

I suggest you contact customer support to confirm.

Yes, it would be approx $50 fee, but again you need to contact support.

Perhaps you can come back and let us know what you found out.

Alternatively, let me know and I can contact support.

Personally I will just continue to buy through my own affiliate link and just enter my clients name and create a brand new email address for this license and manage the email myself. I would NOT use my clients email address. I would create a brand new email address.

They don't want you using your own personal license for your clients.

You need to buy a new license for each client.

Just buy through your affiliate link. Or contact support regarding the developer license and the fee you need to send via Paypal to sales@.....

Chris, I have to bother you again, sorry.

In the description of the landing page is:

    Create Completely Custom Members Portal

With our flexible page design framework, and built in membership elements (including login form, modules and lesson listings and breadcrumb trails) you can create comprehensive membership portal that look completely custom. No more being fixed into the layouts and designs Provided - you have the freedom to create the design of your dreams.

I am now assumed that OP2 offers its own tool such as S2Member.

    Am I wrong?

      No problem at all.

Yeah it does look like they have their own features. That's great!

      Update:

the only thing I will say is that I am not 100% sure (until i buy it) that they integrate affiliate management, so you might need other plugins for this or use Nanacast or infusionsoft which are external third parties.

      Other plugins being:

Digital Access Pass (what i use)
      wishlist member
      amember
      s2member

  • I just purchased OP2 yesterday day of the launch as an existing member. Use the $99.00 10 user license option.

First, I found that OP2 conflicts with LeadPages. So, one of my licenses is not usable at this time. I read that OP2 may eventually have a way to deactivate an unused license.

Second, you can reuse a license IF you use the same domain. For example I have installed and reinstalled OP 2 both as a Theme and plugin several times on the same domain using the same license with no problems at all.

Third, there seems to be an issue with OP 2 and WordPress 3.6. Has anyone experiences issues with the LiveEditor using WordPress 3.6? It works perfectly so far with 3.5 however. I am having difficulty getting OP support to fix this. But, I'll keep you posted.

Finally, I have both LeadPages and OP 1 and now 2. LeadPages is easier and faster to set up with instant or fingertip analytics. Not very customizable, but, the templates are set up to pull in the numbers. So, I don't really want to customize them too much.

OP 2.0 is easier to use than OP 1 in my opinion, however, has some bugs. BUT, is very customizable. I can see myself using both LeadPages and OP 2 for different usages. If you had to get something RIGHT NOW that works out of the box, and that does not require a lot of customization or tweaking with great analytics, training and support get LeadPages.

After the launch, OP 2 once debugged would also be a great tool for those who want more control over their designs as well as the ability to create great membership sites, etc.

BTW, there is a separate Membership plugin for OP 2 that provides you the membership features some were asking about. I hope this helps and I hope I get this WordPress 3.6 issue fixed.

      Try this....

Install Thesis theme or similar on domain name wordpress. Use this for Leadpages the root domain - http://yourdomain.com

Then install a second version of wordpress on a subdirectory and then install optimizepress2 on there.

      http://yourdomain.com/members (members = optimizepress)

or choose a different subdomain name

      /training

      /product

See if this works. Let me know.

With regards to the other membership options.

Whatever you can't do with OP2 there are third parties that do a brilliant job and OP integrates with them.

      Secure content and affiliate management:

      - Digital Access Pass
      - Wishlist Member
      - Amember
      - S2Member
      - Nanacast
      - Infusionsoft

      Payment Gateways:

      - paypal, 1shoppingcart and so on

    • UPDATE: I have been in communication with support and directly with James. They are meeting about the issues (bugs, etc.) and will be pushing out updates as soon as they possibly can. They also apologized for not being more communicative.

I emphasized the importance of this, even though we realize they are in the middle of a launch with a new platform. Communication is just as important as fixing the issues themselves, in some cases, more so.

Using WP 3.5 I have not experienced any significant bugs, and love the flexibility. I also use LeadPages and love this tool as well. My conversions on almost all of my page are pretty good. Lowest is 32, average is around 50+, highest is 83.

OP2 gives me better flexibility, so I will use this in addition to LeadPages. One bug I found prohibited from using LP and OP on the same domain. So I had to create a subdomain, which works out pretty well.

In summary, James and OP2 seem committed to working through this teething process as he called it and asks for a little patience. So far, I'm happy with th product and appreciative of their responses.

I agree. Clay Collins and the rest of the team has a winning squeeze page system which is hands down their strength and the fact that LP is not a WP plugin is a plus in terms of rendering speed compared to OP2 is attractive. So, while I think it remains to be seen how effective OP2 squeeze pages relative to LP...OP's strength has been and I believe will continue to be in OP2 their sales pages and their ability to freely customize. My own preference would be to go for the most versatile tool based on need and that for me is OP2. If OP2 fulfills their vision and promise, then this tool should be able to easily reproduce the success of leadpages and other similar creation tools in this space.

I do think that at the end of the day to use any of these tools effectively, we need to learn how to write effective and compelling copy. This is what I'm focusing on now in my business. Best of luck to all!

Personally, I liked OP 1 a lot better. I'm probably going to purchase Lead Pages instead.

What do you think about that? Lead Pages or Optimize Press? Which one is the best?

I was really dissappointed with OP 2.

Leadpages is great. It's an app. It also can be used on facebook.

Leadpages creates a lead capture intermediary page before people get to the homepage which increases opt-in. Basically a better alternative to annoying popup boxes. Although even the leadpage intermediary page gets annoying after a while.

You can create stand-alone lead capture pages also.

            They don't do this.

            Kajabi is another option.

Or just get a designer to do it for you.

Then just install one of the plugins I suggested above...

Or just get a designer to do it for you.

Then just install one of the plugins I suggested above...

              DAP
              Wishlist
              Nanacast
Yeah I just bought it to test it out. It sucked. Requested a refund immediately.

Kajabi seems really nice, but at $199/month (if you want to protect your content) it's too damn expensive.

Do you have any more suggestions?

Profits Theme is a good alternative I hear.

Hello all, I am new here after reading for months and also new to setting up a digital sales business.

I recently went with ProfitsTheme because I wanted a site up and the "noise" around the OP launch scared me away. I figured there would be bugs and I expect them to fix them.

But I wanted my site up and so paid $97 for PT. Again, I am new to this and set up a full-fledged membership site in one weekend [no extra plug-in required], complete with video squeeze page, sales page and membership site. It works. I can see some functionality I need to extend or improve.

I am not a PT affiliate, btw, I empathize with the OP team and initial customers. Again, I expect them to fix all the bugs but I am glad I went with something perhaps not as flashy but stable.

I use Kajabi heavily (over 20 projects) and it's a huge part of my business. You DON'T have the flexibility as you would on other non hosted options or even OP, but of course there's a balance like any third party platform.

Kajabi makes sense for me and my business.

As for OP, it's one of the most powerful themes I've seen. I haven't used it much in the last 2 years because there are better options for my particular business, but I highly recommend my students use it.

OP2 seems to have ironed out some of the issues from the original and I'm sure the current bugs will get ironed out.

Looks like a super piece of software and the OP team has always been great.

      Thank you
You don't need the unlimited license I doubt?? Do you really have more than 10 products??? unlikely???

      Just get the basic version.

Test it out for yourself and if you hate it then get a refund, but the great thing about James Dyson is that his team are constantly fixing bugs and making regular updates.

Don't forget to check out my bonuses. At least you get that if nothing else.

        Hello Chris,

Actually i waited a month to finalize my decision on what WP theme/sales pages im going to use to all of my sales pages and client pages, I just have 4 sales page that im going to create for now but sooner or later i will create again and i just want all my sales page comes from the same provider.

I used AP 3 before and i got disappointed so i don't want it to happen again today. I just heard the OP 2 will released on July 31 so i waited for it. Luckily i got drunk on the release date so I didn't buy it that and i skipped 1 day without using internet.

Yes, I like to try it on 3 sites subscription, but i don't think they allow me to upgrade into unlimited sites once i already paid for the 3 sites? Any idea?

Got very confused today on what's the best WP theme/sales pages im going to use to all my sites and client sites..

You can always try the 3 sites package first, and when it's time to upgrade, just request a refund for your original package and buy it again.

And yeah, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm looking for a great tool. I was happy with OP1, but it wasn't customizable enough for me (I'm not the most techie guy).

Oh yeah, sorry...you get 3 for new customer.

Perhaps buy one for yourself and then buy other single license for your clients.

I would contact customer support....most likely they will allow you to upgrade....they like more money I am sure.

Yeah they were constantly updated the theme. Most likely a good idea to contact customer support with the feedback and recommend improvements.

Not sure about if they are tracking this but I personally just charged it to my client. I didn't wanna take the risk.

Looks like someone needs to release a new Theme. I might get onto this myself.

              No worries.

I have to say, I find OP 2 very buggy at the moment. I've just spent 7 hours trying to reproduce a sales page designed with OP 1. I realised when I was half way through that, even though the page appeared to save in the LiveEditor, the additional content wasn't displayed on the published page.

I've just spent the last hour and a half once more adding the final 25% of the page, saving the page and viewing it in my browser after adding each element, to find that having reached the end that all of the work I've done in the last 90 minutes has disappeared.

The complete version is displayed in the LiveEditor but not in my browser, nor is the final version visible if I open the page to edit it in another window.

It's SO frustrating!! OP 1 was a great theme. OP 2 will be even better once the bugs are out but right now I have a sales page which normally converts pretty well only half completed and no way of fixing it.

I've tried to put in a support ticket to OP, but their members' hub, iptimizehub.com is down.

I'm just going outside to let off some steam!

I absolutely agree. By the way, are you using WP 3.6 or 3.5? OP 2 will be a great product, and if fact, I will use it with 3.5 until they fix some of the bugs. I have not yet experienced the same bugs you have, but will keep an eye out.

I was using 3.5 when I started. I upgraded today to 3.6. Optimizepress wasn't working properly with 3.5. It's no better now.

I've just discovered that the opt in page templates aren't working or, more accurately, the ability to insert an opt in form into the page is very buggy and then, once successfully added, it doesn't actually work with the Mailchimp integration.

I've spent fourteen hours on it today and I'm really frustrated with the huge number of bugs. I'm sure they'll all be sorted out but that doesn't help me much at the moment.

Well my friend. I'm with you. I have set up an installation on a WP 3.5 and am building a Membership video course page. Really it's just a page to show a series of videos. So far no problems. Let's see when we go live and test it out. Thanks for your update.

I wasted 3 days on AP3 this week, simply trying to get a squeeze page built. Finally gave up, refunded and bought OP2. Now I can't get the OP2 "edit" boxes to open on the squeeze page templates. I just get that annoying little circle running round and round like it's trying to load something but won't. Is this program tied into their website so that when their site crashes (as it has done several times today) OP2 quits working? Because if so, I smell another refund coming. I don't have time for this nonsense.

originalsmoothie, my experience is similar to yours, I have one installation with Wordpress 3.5 and and another with 3.6 and in both of them OP has problems.

Many times you do some work in the visual editor and they vanish when you press "save", I mean the shortcode is not inserted in the WP entry/page. In other cases the shortcode is inserted but it does nothing, it does not get parsed by WP and it has no effect on the live page.

Maybe just my particular case, but I can't use OP right now...

No it's not just you. I am having the same problems, plus plenty of other issues. The latest problem is trying to change images in templates. I can upload the images I want from my PC, but the "insert into post" button doesn't work.

If I was using this on the main part of the site I would suspect a plugin conflict, but I have Optimizepress set up on a sub domain with very few plugins installed. (I might also be talking nonsense as in this instance I am using the theme rather than the plugin. I'm just clutching at straws).

just saw this on the OptimizePress FAQs:

I cannot add or edit elements in the LiveEditor

This issue is usually caused by a Javascript conflict. Many other plugins render javascript to your WordPress site, but some do this in a way which does not check if other scripts are also rendering Javascript, which breaks our LiveEditor

              To fix try these steps:

Go to OptimizePress > Dashboard > Global Settings > Advanced WP Filter Settings
Tick any items that appear in the list
Check your LiveEditor is fixed. If not continue to step 4...
Go to your Plugins page inside WordPress and disable any other plugins running (if this is a live site you may want to put your site into a maintainence mode)
Check your LiveEditor again - if this fixes the issue then your issue is with a plugin and you need to re-activate your plugins one-by-one to establish the problem plugin and contact the author for a fix (please also let us know the plugin in case we have a workaround or an alternative)
Remember you can check which plugins you had active in your "recently active" plugins section (handy when you come to reactivate them)
If you still have issues please let us know your site URL and adminstrator logins and we will look into this further
              hope it helps...

Thanks for the information, but it hasn't helped. OP 2 is on an almost empty installation of WP 3.6 on a subdomain created so I could use the OP theme for sales pages and keep Thesis for the rest of the site. There was only one other active plugin on the site. I disabled it but it didn't solve the problem.

I also looked at the WP filters in the OP Global setting but there is nothing there to cause an issue.

I am unable to either add or change any images at all at the moment on the op in form template I wan to use. I was able to add and change images in the sales page template I created.

I still can't get the "seamless autoresponder integration to work with Mailchimp. There's a bug there. I can embed forms but I, like many people, wanted to use the OP templates to give my sales and squeeze pages a more professional look.

I've contacted tech support. Guess what? They're "looking into it"

It's all very frustrating. I run a busy niche site around a full time job. I don't have the time to spend hours and hours finding and reporting bugs. I expected one or two issues, but there are currently so many that the theme is pretty much unusable.

The problem is, it's such a pain to remove and reinstall the theme. It's 25mb so has to be uploaded via ftp. I have a copy or OP 1 but I would have to remove OP 2, then upload and activate OP 1 to find out what the sales page I spent all day yesterday looks like in OP 1. I suspect that many of the short codes are new to OP 2 so I would have to spend a lot more time fixing it.

It's catch 22 at the moment. I can't move forward with OP 2 and I don't have the time to change everything back to OP 1.

I'm going outside now to shout at the sky!

Clearly the hype was just that, hype. The whole thing is that James told us all the delays in launching this product were due to them ironing out most of the bugs and having it polished and highly professional. No doubt these issues will be fixed over time. However this is not the point! Why are we being charged so much when it is patently clear this is only a beta and largely untested product? Seems to be happening quite often now with products which is sad.

I am really trying to do the right thing here and support what could be a tremendous product especially after I have used OP 1. But as yet I remain unconvinced this new version is worth it. Just an opinion that is all. I am betting OP competitors are breathing a big sigh of relief at this point. They will surely be hot on the heels of OP who are most certainly leaving money on the table with this underwhelming launch.

I'm giving OP2 another chance since I don't have much choice. Anyone knows how to change the width of the salespage? My page is really wide and I want to narrow it.

Still haven't found anything about how to change the width of the website/border in OP2.
    Have watched all the videos.

Anyone have a clue? (I realize I probably won't get an answer from their support in like a week anyway)

Why? Becuase original customers were promised this:

"We will have a special limited time discount for our current customers before we launch to the public. If you’re on our customer mailing list we will send you more information about this as we prepare to launch".

Yet I received nothing (yep, i checked spam folders and yep, I am on Dysons list).

Thats the first part. Second part, I emailed the support desk, with my info on OP1 purchase (username, password etc), they replied within 2 hours to this. But the reply was - we will check it out, and sed you the special link asap.

2 days later, I still wait.

Now I understand a launch as high profile as OP2.0 is going to have flaws, hiccups and all the rest. But they should at least deliever on their promises.

I am a huge OP 1.0 fan, and have 2 high converting products using OP at the minute. I have had another product finished for 2 weeks now (12 hour video course). Here is where I am now - would have loved to have spent the weekend putting these vids in their awesome looking membership portal, but doubt now I will get a reply until Monday at the earliest. but my general thought is they are not that bothered about existing customers - they want the new ones who are paying the bigger prices first, and I guess with all problems like on this thread, theybare finding an increased number of tickets in as more purchase and then come up against problems.

It has taken a long time for OP 2.0 to come along. But with everything mentioned here, I think it was too early - I mean, a product this big, you would have thought it would have been beta tested to the max - but people are working for 9 hours and then seeing their hard work dissappear? That is not good friends.

I may well just leave it anyway, special discount link or not, until the verdicts filter in, in a couple of months time when all the bugs have been ironed out, and just use OP 1.0 for my new product.
All the hype and vague videos for the launch to date and promises that were just lip service and mentioned and problems and dramas unfolding I sensed and stated would happen is rolling in fast and folks getting more than annoyed etc exactly what I thought as in my post #8 on page ONE ...

Hmmm -and this is just the start and first 24 hours! Let alone whats going on over in facebook of so may frustrating folk trying to use OP2 and all its crazy issues...seems as more story's unfold its going to get worse to come...

Glad I trusted my 6 sense and saw through the hype and was not 'sold' by the very vague videos that as I have said all along told you nothing really and hey ho, low and behold people are saying just that-and not doing things they were hoping it could do or thought it might be able to do let alone pricing promises been let down Hmmm!

So glad I have and happy with sales press pro profit theme and Instant builder etc...

Gosh, Good luck everyone...not nice, feel for you

Really happy I waited and didn't purchase 2.0... don't see anything of value and tons of issues. Optimizepress is basic at best. All the hype for a basic responsive design, membership and drag and drop editor. Not worth it in my opinion.

For video sales pages there is no question that Salespress 2.0 is the way to go...

Even with the glitches and bugs and launch 'issues', Ill very likely go with OP2 as I know ( or hope), that all will be good.

From what I've seen in its functionality, it fills my needs.

The sales page is closed till August 5th 'due to demand', and can only guess that James and his team are busy with dealing with some of the hiccups as opposed to the demand itself.

Either way, that in of itself shows commitment to their product. For sure it's not the best way to launch a product but does show that they're dealing with issues.

    Ill wait...

Did you buy or attempt to buy the new OP2.0 or had any involvement what so ever with the launch that could mess up your license?

Revoking existing customers' licenses for software that was already paid for and currently being used as a source of income with no warning is a BIG DEAL.

Oh yes... I was an original customer for Opt 1 and all of my licenses disappeared. Then I was stupid, recommended it to a client who purchased and now my opt 1 sites are dead and his opt 2 doesn't work. Yeah it is a HUGE DEAL and it appears that the entire OptimizePress client base just took a piss bath. I am not at all happy with this situation. No way to refund and no solutions with the support page closed down, probably to avery a run on the bank so to speak.

I'm sorry to hear that. This is a f*ck up on a massive scale. If what you're describing is true there must be thousands of OP sites that are literally closed for business. I wonder if people are going to be suing for damages.

Anyway, for what it's worth and from what I can tell - the support page isn't down. You can contact them here: OptimizePress - Help & Support

It was up before but disabled. I will try it again. This is a FUBAR if enormous proportions and I bet a lot of OP 1 folks haven;t even checked their sites yet. Who would have thought that the Op1 sites would have even been touched, but they have been compromised.

All of my many OP1 sites are still fully functional - so be careful about blanket statements like you've made above.

Not disputing YOUR experience, but don't speak for everyone unless you know it's true.

Existing OP1 customers have been moved to their new hub:

You should be able to login there with your previous credentials - was seamless for me.

I purchased 2.0 yesterday, seduced by the beauty and simplicity of the templates. (I also had purchased 1.0, but frankly did not use it much) After spending most of yesterday and last night trying fiddling, configuring, fighting, and testing with 2.0, I gave up.

It is simply too buggy, slow, and not ready for prime time. I have sent a refund request.

Unfortunately, for right now, I'd advise anyone interested to save their money and wait to see how it develops.

Exactly Simon what I said as in my post #8 on page ONE ... that I predicted many bugs and big frustrations from people will unfold here on the forum etc…Well they are big and fast and on facebook apparently all over the place.

Gosh, as I said all along The videos to date for it were so vague just can't understand how based on these video for it people were able to make an informed choice to buy into this and get it or upgrade and not knowing ultimately what all the NEW specifics and things were…

I felt their very vague launch video and final sales page told you nothing NEW...
(wow, surprised Mr Dyson did not spot or appreciate that factor) ....

As a Business psychologist and consultant for fortune 500 and small businesses etc, I'm a great believer how you pretty much do one thing is HOW mostly people do EVERYTHING….

I think I have seen enough unfolding here I stated in my post #8 was going to happen big style is and plenty also on facebook let alone Friday they have shut down the sales page for a few days clearly they have concerns but said it was due to demand, (yeah right!)

NO…. its due to people having problems and issues because it was rushed and not tested and it seems even getting it do simple things! ( and now their obviously having to massively sort this)

Ok way, way better things to do not willing to try this NEW product and waste hours like many poor folk, fiddling trying to get seems like very basic things to even work Hmmm…

I still have no idea what OP2 it can do over Op1 yet (which I don't have) nor does anyone so far if their brutally honest Who have now got it even!

Good luck to you all -Yep time now to move on better things to do…wish all of you well with it and down the road I am sure they will eventually iron things out ( I predict along way off though) and hope it ends up doing everything you thought it would do for you.

OK we get it, you knew all along.. Still, I do believe I made an informed decision buying into OP2.0 because of how good OP1 is and that OP2.0 is an improvement on that.

You say you don't know what improvement there is and that the videos showed nothing new. Well, I beg to differ. It's true, the videos didn't show a whole lot. There was no walkthrough or live demonstration of the software. But you did get to see a few major improvements:

        1. All 100% mobile ready cross-platform responsive pages
        2. Improved graphic user interface (one of OP1's major flaws)
        3. Drag and Drop live editor to customize the pre-built templates
        4. Built in membership features (content protection)

To many, myself included - this is worth a purchase.

I can't speak for anyone else but the reason I upgraded without a blink of the eye was for 2 reasons:

        1. Optimize Press was/is excellent and has served me well

        2. Based on my OP1 experience I trusted James to make OP2 and even better experience both in terms of design and ease of use...

I'm hopeful all will be sorted out but still feel disappointed that this was supposed to be fully operational and functional and unfortunately is far from that.

I personally will be giving it a little time to see what happens as I know james Dyson is an incredibly gifted person so will hopefully get things fixed soon...and learn a hard lesson that you have to make sure you don't "break or damage" your reputation through a poor launch.

        Can't and won't speak for anyone else...just my 10c worth:rolleyes:

Well I did get my special link from support for being an OP 1.0 customer.

When I went through to purchase an hour or so later, it said closed until 5th! But probably just as well, with all the highlighted problems.

I just can't believe how f***ed up this launch has been. A complete disaster. And for those saying there will always be hiccups on a big launch, yes of course, but as pointed out, this is not a $7 WSO - this was probably a million dollar launch, day one sales, easily.

The thing that worries me the MOST though is the support - has anyone had a support ticket signed off by anyone other than David or Laura? I see these names, and no mention of any other name. Seriously, they are running with a team of 2 on a helpdesk for such a big launch?

I feel sorry for those that have shelled out and are currently trying to make the software work.

But like I say, I am a big fan of 1.0, and I am sure everything will be smoothed out.

The key here though is how quickly things are smoothed out, because as people have pointed out, $97, $197, $297 products should be ready to use on day one.

Just thought I would share this from the Optimizepress support page. These are exactly the issues I'm having...

"Key Issues to be aware of:
WordPress 3.6 Update - Do not upgrade to version 3.6 of WordPress yet as we are working on fixing a bug with the “insert into post” function in that version
LiveEditor Issues – if you are experiencing issues with the liveeditor please disable other plugins and retest. If you are using the plugin version please also test with the default WordPress theme to establish if this is a conflict issue
Can’t upload images/header/logo or Insert into post doesn’t work – This issue is something we are working on as mentioned above. We hope to have a fix for this in the next 24-48 hours. In the meantime we advise taking your site back to a previous version of wordpress"

The insert into post issue I would imagine they will have fixed in short order. I don't know about the LiveEditor issue though. In my case, it's certainly nor a plugin or theme conflict.

Remember my first post on page 1 with credit card issues? I tried to buy OP2.0 but billing failed.

Anyway, there has been a development: I was charged 2 times, I have 2 invoices for 97$, but I was never directed to a download page and a username or password weren't sent to my email.

In short, i was charged twice and the product wasn't delivered.

I know it's nothing to freak out about, I can get a refund, they can deliver the product to me manually, there are many ways to solve this. But it's such an annoyance.

This, by far, has definitely NOT been a smooth product launch but I still have confidence in the product. Once everything settles in and all the bugs are sorted out - I'm sure this will be the new standard for online marketing websites.

YES there are many alternatives to OP but as far as I can tell this is the only theme that allows you to really customize your site and make it look how you want it to, instead of having another one of those "marketing sites" with all the same templates. Correct me if i'm wrong but I feel the only real rival to OP is Leadpages and that's a recurring monthly/annual payment (which is a known method for making marketers worldwide sad) and doesn't do membership sites.

AND, it was important for me to get the launch-week prices - not that it's certain they'd go up later, but there's a chance, like with everything..

I'm lucky I'm not stressed for time so I can wait to see this through.

I guess this is a lesson to be learned (as douchey as it may sound right now) - but:

NEVER buy a newly launched product to implement in a mission-critical setting right away.

I hope nobody is losing too much money everyday OP sits dead in the water..

Unlike other warriors I'm less forgiving.

I think that when a launch of this magnitude takes place everything should be tested, tested and then tested some more as Wordpress can be unpredictable.

James had my vote with OP1 and I have used it extensively. Very relieved that I didn't convert all my other sites over to OP 2 as that would have been another disaster in itself.

Never got an email about be entitled to a 10 site licence as an existing customer and no way of sending a support ticket as that page appears to be disabled.

Can't even log into the old OP1 dashboard...getting a message to say my username, password and email don't exist..wtf

I can sum it up in one word...diabolical

My takeaway from this launch is: Sit it out, monitor the conversations and only buy once everything is 100% ready and bug free.

PS. I didn't even see many affiliate messages about this launch...should I read into that as well???

No doubt it has been a very challenging launch for James Dyson and his team, however, from upgrade purchase discount (existing 1.0 customer [$197]) to install (plugin not theme) to implementation has been smooth and intuitive for me thus far. What is new for me is applying OP2.0 member plugin, but even my tests with that plugin is moving along relatively well.

I would say that the biggest criticism that I have of the product as of 8/3 is that the training videos at launch are really weak compared to OP1. So, if you are new to OP and IM in general this may pose a challenge to you.

What I think the biggest challenge for some may be with OP2, which I figured would likely be the case, is the increased resource demand on the hosting server. If you are running on shared server hosting services (some, not all) then installation and execution can experience some degree of latent functionality. Thankfully, this has not been the case on any of the domains of my blogs I tested with my shared host providers, but I did see this issue with a couple of customers' blogs.

Overall, I am pleased thus far with the functionality of OP2, and the transition from OP2 has not been as ominous as I have seen suggested. Nonetheless, there is definitely much room for improvement particularly in the training area which is rather disappointing clearly due to a lack of adequate preparation. I'm sure other challenges with the app itself will emerge, but I have tested the OP2 templates, autoresponder integration, live visual editor, my fastmember (membership plugin) integration, and [currently testing] OP2 plugin...results look good thus far.

I did purchase the monthly club membership, but at this point there is one template there and probably not the best value purchase to include. I hope that over time, that changes, but for now I would take a pass on it.

I bought OP2 yesterday about an hour before the sales page change stating the August 5th re-open. I have yet to receive my login details for the theme/plugin. Invoice and receipt are the only things sent to my inbox. Bummer!

I've been a member since about the first week of OP1 - been happy with James and his team since. With all the changes and improvements he has made over the years who wouldn't be?

But there is no excuse for this current lack of communication. NONE.

    This is a million dollar launch - not a rinky-dink $9.99 WSO.

Hire someone to send out messages explaining the delays or issues.

Me, you and everyone else would be in hot water if we took $197 from a client and did not deliver at least an explanation of non-delivery - let alone a failure of sales page promises.

No pitchforks or fire - I'm sure it'll be sorted, but you'd think he'd "Optimize" his sales funnel.

BTW - Still no reply from either the support team or the reply email address from the invoice. Both sent 20 minutes after purchase. Bummer somemore!!!

Nobody likes getting a great new toy for Christmas without the batteries to turn it on.

Valid and most definitely a teachable moment in terms of launch crisis management.

This is pretty much a case-study of product launch worst-case scenarios.

IMO, somebody needs be out front getting punched in the nose by the public and explaining what's going on.

That said - shit happens, guys. Nobody wins in this situation and stamping your feet about the way it "should be" isn't gonna help you or them get you what you deserve.

They're in the middle of an infusionightmare. Internet Marketing Purgatory.

James is one of the undisputed good guys in this incestuous little mud puddle of IM and OP1 has made many of us incalculable online profits for years now - even if this buying experience has pretty much sucked.

One thing I'm sure of - OP2 will be an obscene ROI once it's firing on all cylinders.

    Best to all,

    Brian

I asked for a refund of OP2 today. I just don't get this: What's the difference between OP2 and OP1, other than OP2 being a lot more difficult to work with and a lot less customizable?

Because I can't see it. The graphics are pretty much the same...

Yea, they've added some squeeze pages a lá "Lead Rocket"/"Lead Pages" style. Other than that, I can't see a thing.

To me, OP2 is a downgrade from OP1, not an upgrade.

    • Let me answer a bunch of the questions I saw on this thread: (I dont have ANYTHING to do with OP, but I do have a LOT of OP1 sites)

1- My OP1 Sites didnt get effected in anyway (I have over 100 OP1 sites) and they are all live and working. The person above that said all his OP1 sites went down should watch what he says, because I havent heard anyone else having a problem with existing OP1 sites.

2- Optimizepress moved its support page too OptimizePress 1 Customer Hub this appears to be for OP1 and OP2 users. So if you have a support request for OP1 or OP2 just click on Submit Support Request.

3- I did purchase OP2 and Im happy so far. There are a LOT of new features but the best new feature I like personally is that creating a blog with OP2 is WAY better than OP1. The mobile responsive theme is my second biggest fav new feature.

4- I have submitted a few support requests since I ordered OP2 a few days ago and all my requests have been handled quickly, professionally and thoroughly.

5- OP2 is a huge undertaking and issues should be expected. This is a multi million dollar launch and the issues will be resolved and Optimizepress will continue to rule the optin and membership site world of internet marketing... so stop your bitching.

      My Bottom Line------------

If you liked Optimizepress 1 (Like I did), and you made a lot of money with Optimizepress 1 (Like I did), stop your bitching and get Optimizepress 2.

Yo, its easy to say "stop your bitching" when you actually have the product.

I've been charged twice because of some shopping cart bug that told me my card didnt work but 2 days later a phantom charge occurred. Wtf is that about?

And the actual charge that worked I still havent received login info to actually download OP2. I've emailed them twice and sent 2 tickets via the support page. I've got the runaround.

I wish just dealing with the bugs everybody is talking about was my only problem but I've actually forked over $211 and have NOTHING to show for it.

Im trying to be patient and Im not trying to dump on the OptimizePress team at all but its frustrating being punished for trying to purchase this product on day one

Sorry, I think those who have spent upto $297 on a product, and then invested hours and hours changing their sites, crafting new sites, only to see their work dissappear when they click a button have every right to bitch, and it is very one dimesional of you to even consider writing such garbage.

OP 2.0 is a huge undertaking, but an undertaking the crew of OP 2.0 chose to undertake. They chose to release when they did, they also chose (apparently) not to test it extensively. And the fact that it is a multi million dollar release only makes things worse.

Your point number 5, and the attitude within it, sums up precisely why everything around the IM niche has this dark shadow constantly attached to it.

PS. I have no doubt it will be fixed in time. The point is though, it should have all been fixed before launch.

        *********

Please appreciate and take on board this entire thread post is all about review of OP2 hence folk are NOT 'bitching' as you put it...they are telling the good bad and ugly ....gosh, after all it's been set up to be a review for feedback... as just said i.e. specifically set up by someone for people to share their personal experience on it so far....they are not being negative they are not bitching they are merely telling of their personal experience!

To date so far, yours Webmarketingmaster is a good experience ...as you explained and shared - then great, smashing, super, cool.....and good for you yet, many is bad experiences on the whole it 'seems' so far from the posts ....

And dare I say indeed reflective of the fact optimize press 2.00 sales page to buy it etc, is right now actually shut down to have them deal with the many fall outs and issues it clearly does have right now...Hmmm very telling

Anyway for many, their feeling and what plenty are saying should certainly never ready to yet be launched...

Yes there are bugs and there are bugs with new launches and software and a bit of give and take has to be understood and that happens often....

BUT for many rightly so...it seems this specific launch for OP2 is way beyond that on many levels.

Seems customers new to optimize press and those upgrading pulling the hair out here with more whats wrong then right stories let alone a hundreds times more bad stuff ALL OVER FACEBOOK from people totally frustrating and yes bitching as you put it!

From pricing and the way it has been miss handled and managed to complete technical issues wrong with it right now people are saying....

        sorry bitching about...

In short, the producers of it are clearly trying to put right! When they should for many now in agreement never have obviously really launched it the way it is - and have failed people and on many simple basic things for the software and hence made themselves look bad and credibility etc, one has to admit is not good and really brought upon themselves.

I know 11 people personally who got this 8 are cheesed off with it or had some much more bigger issues then niggly small ones and have wasted hours apparently with it trying to do various things to no avail.

Just my pennies worth for what it counts or bitching or whatever you choose to label it for daring to just 'tell it how it is' on this review site about it.

I am sure they (OP team) will eventually sort things out, however I really feel its going to be a long way off yet not just days or within a week to say 10 days even...there is a lot more to this then meets the eye...

And even then whether what it can do over its first version and living upto peoples expectations was truly worth folk getting it naturally remains to be seen - and only time will tell.

        Blessings to you all.

one thing i'm struggling with about optimize press is that it has some great features, but it does not appear to have a blog that is setup as a blog. And only ONE homepage configuration out of the box too. honestly that surprises me because I think people expect more these days, especially when free WP themes come w/more options. The interface for the 2 version is definitely upgraded over v1 to answer that question that others asked here earlier.

does anyone have any suggestions or solutions for the homepage and blog set up issues?

I'm still playing with it and haven't used it on a live site because i've not found good resolution to these issues yet.

in some ways ProfitsTheme is a more integrated product in terms of being able to use it to create a website. (it has graphics that aren't as good and some missing features too though).

Dexx, I've got the exact same problem when installing the optimizepress theme and plugin update however I don't have this problem with the membership plugin but there are no instructions on how to use the membership plugin. There's reference to the a quick start guide but there's no information available when I clicked the link for the quick start guide.

When support get back to you I'd be grateful if you would update this thread on whether the issue was resolved.

Optimizepress certainly haven't met my expectations with all these issues and the launch in general has been nightmare. With the benefit of hindsight, I would have waited a while before purchasing.

      update:
I issued a support ticket and received reply within 5 minutes! Hopefully I should be able to resolve my issue now. This was my first support ticket and have to say I'm impressed by the quick response - fantastic support!

Ok, everything is fine now. Just had to get an updated version of ionCube loader installed.

I just frustrated since the initial 2.0 version of OP worked fine, and then all of a sudden the 2.01 update comes out and my server isn't up to snuff and needs and upgraded version.

Will continue to play around with the platform now.

All in all the POTENTIAL is there for this to be really great. I already have Headway themes, but I've always been a big fan of OP.

I'm sure with a couple bug fixes people will forget the initial growing pains. Tho I do agree that the training videos are lacking compared to the initial OP (covers the basics, but not too in-depth)

I took the up-sell offer for additional templates and marketing training since it was 50% off, but we'll see in 30 days if I keep it. Only one template in there right now.

Three supprt tickets have been filled - but with no auto-response or confirmation of ticket sent - I have no idea if this form is in fact operational or just a dummy page set up to stall while they get their ducks in a row.

Tar and feathers? Not really - but I can't imagine what my clients would do if for WHATEVER REASON, I did not deliver after taking their money - or at least an explanation of why.

    Epic fail James Dyson...

I'm in the same boat with you. Also not getting any response for my support tickets and no indication of them ever being received for a few days now.. Granted, it has been a weekend so I'll give them another day or two before nagging again.

It would've been nice to get an auto-response saying the ticket was submitted successfully...

I didn't even bother with a support ticket for the last problem I had, but I vented on their FB page. I got an email directly from James asking me to submit the ticket and he would handle it personally, which he did (and is still doing, I presume, since it isn't settled as of yet). Maybe try Facebook and see if you get some kind of response out of them there.

Finally got a response from the OP support team. They sent me my login info but my refund is still pending.

They're at 2.04 today. James seems to be scurrying to catch up to the initial launch problems. He'll need a couple of weeks to get things straightened out properly.

I haven't had the billing issues others have quoted. But, I'd be very pissed if I had. It's too reflective of what may happen on your sites if you use their systems. But, JD has been an honest provider all along and I expect all of these things will be corrected soon.

I still haven't heard anything from my Refund Ticket. If I don't hear anything, what should I do? Contact the police?

If I don't hear anything in 1 or 2 days I'll probably do so.

I don't think that's necessary, not at this stage anyway. Don't forget the refund policy is good for 30 days. I'd not worry about anything until day 15, and I won't involve any kind of law enforcement until the 30 days expired and the seller failed to fulfill his refund policy.

I do suggest you head on to the OptimizePress facebook page and post on the timeline. It sure sped up things for me.

      Good luck

You're being a bit extreme. JD and OP have been straightforward for years. If you need to get your refund, call your credit card company. There is no evidence of fraud with the launch... just some problems and issues being resolved. Police? Don't be a fool.

Well...Ive purchased OP2 (3 license ) through an affiliate link as 3 is all I would ever need, and the bonuses were off the hook...

Anyway, I received all my login documentation within 3 minutes and had a look inside.

There are 5 training videos available, as well as a few membeship training, and at first cursory look they are adequate to get started.

As said by Brian McLeod, Op is James Dysons flagship produce...he aint going anywhere, and he stand by his product. As do his team...

Ive yet to download/install, but even with the misgivings on this thread...bugs... issues...etc, I am a happy camper.

I trust James Dyson and his team. OP1 was a game changer, I reckon OP was the one everyone followed, but then I may be biased as I had a great experience with OP1.

Hope everyone who has purchased gets to where they need to be.

    hi there,
I just posted a video walkthrough of Optimize Press 2.0 for everyone to see what it looks like, where it shines and where it fails.
The video is long and a bit crap, but the main point was to show you what you'd face when you first install OP2 (overwhelm!).

    Greetings,

Someone mentioned OP uses the S2Member system. They also mentioned that it does not work with Stripe or BrainTree Payment Solutions. If that's the case, I will have to use another membership plugin with this plugin because I use Stripe and BrainTree Payment Solutions. But this doesn't make sense. Why would I use two membership plugins because this plugin does not integrate with payment systems? Stripe and BrainTree are extremely popular alternatives to other payment systems including paypal. They charge a flat rate fee without having to sign up for a merchant account and payment gateway. Just a flat percentage of transactions. Can you please add these integrations to this system?

OptimizePress does not use S2Member. It's fully compatible with S2Member, but also comes with its own membership plugin called OptimizeMember. From what I can tell S2Member and OptimizeMember are very similar in terms of features. OptimizeMember is a bit better in terms of interface but S2Member is more advanced and allows for better content protection options and protected content delivery (ie. live streaming videos).

I guess what I meant is that OptimizeMember is really a "white label" version of S2Member...not sure what they worked out with one another in development.

Do you know if OP works with Paid Memberships Pro? They work with BrainTree and Stripe which are by far the best payment solutions in the world right now. Flat rate and you don't have to commit to any monthly fees or other fees. Stripe will actually credit back your fees you were charged if you have to issue a refund...who does that? So imagine you have a $1000 product...that's about $30 in credit card payments....well with Stripe, if you have to issue a refund...you get that $30 back! I hope OP can work with these payment systems. It just makes sense.

But paypal does not have good reviews. If you google paypal on the internet there are tons of negative experiences. I've also spoke with BrainTree and they said paypal will also freeze accounts. Then you are locked out for 30+ days and in some cases you won't get access to the money. Not very encouraging to go with paypal. Plus paypal takes customers away from your site. Unless you have upgraded version, but then again, you are paying monthly for that.

Those who are setting up payment accounts...not those who have been with paypal for a long time...the newbies. They need to consider their options and appreciate the ability to choose. They may like keeping customers on their site versus seeing the paypal logo or sending them to paypals site. Or potentially having their account frozen for generating high sales.

The point of the original post is they should have an option that integrates with other payment providers such as BrainTree and Stripe.

I'm reading a post about Optimize Press vs Kajabi - from January, so it applied to 1.0

                  http://techhusband.com/optimize-press-vs-kajabi/

                  There the author wrote:

OptimizePress has page templates, or page layouts, for the membership area pages you'll create with something like Digital Access Pass, but they are essentially just templates applied to the pages needed for your member's area.

You'll still need something like DAP or Wishlist Member to protect the pages of your members area though.

                  Is this correct with 2.0?

With Optimize Press 2.0, am I creating a membership site that doesn't secure the content for the members?

Yes, on the home page they claim:

                  Secure Membership Portals
Protect your content in secure membership portal

But as everyone has said, there really is no detail... just a 2 minute youtube promo reel.

Does anyone know if it is secure or do you need a third party tool to secure it?

As mentioned a number of times above - OP2.0 does include a free membership plugin similar to S2Member for content protection. If you'd like, you may choose to NOT install the provided membership plugin (named OptimizeMember) and use a 3rd party solution instead.

Just thought I would post an update here.

There have been two new releases which I've updated via my WP dashboard, but they haven't fixed the fundemental problam. Optimizepress 2 doesn't work (for me).

I've now spent over fifteen hours formatting a sales page three or four time. Each time I add a new section (element) I save and preview it. Each time the page look fine in the preview. Last night I spent three hours putting the page together again to find that when I changed my Wordpress front page settings to switch to the new sales pages, over half the sales copy had disappeared.

What's REALLY frustrating is that Optimizepress is interfering with Wordpress revisions so that previously saved versions of the page can't be retrieved.

I've lost yet another evening's work, I'm losing sales hand over fist and I'm VERY frustrated!

originalsmoothie and others: same experience here. Optimizepress 20 does NOT work for me either. It is a total unreliable mess. I really want it to work, I think most do. Wasted a lot of time. Examples? too much to list, e.g. : a landingpage (with big picture on background), you put in your Aweber list connection, you test it, it all works, 1 hour later, you test again, and the optin does not work anymore, huh? Yeah right. It just stays on the landing page. So you go into the live editor, click on the optin box, and you see that the Aweber list connected to this optin has disappeared, it´s gone. So, you do it again and again and again, you think its´you... Well, it´s a bug and you can´t get replies right now of course. I would NOT recommend buying this at this stage, too many bugs, better go with Leadpages, which is pretty stable and offers enough to start with. I cancelled my monthly membership of leadpages (37$/mth) because I didn´t expect OP20 to be so full of bugs... Big disappoinment, big fail for James Dyson and his team.

    Hi,

I decided to wait a couple days and installed (deleting the previous one) the newest version of OP Plugin: 2.0.3.

There is a change from 2.0 that I don't like, but I'm not sure if it is a bug or not: when I first installed OP there was button in the WP editor for pages/posts with the OP logo, located next to the "Insert Media" button, and when clicked allowed to enter OP "elements" in the WP Editor.

Now this button is gone... anyone knows if this is a bug, and the button will come back on an update? I hope so, because this was a great feature for me, as allowed to enter OP elements inside a "normal" post , keeping the theme of the website.

Thanks to everyone that shared their experiences, it helped in my decision.

I was considering purchasing OP 2 because of the loyalty discount (which isn't amazing) but will wait until the kinks have been ironed out. Time is valuable and I just can't see spending countless hours in frustration trying to get things to work. Been there too many times.

BTW, OP 1 is amazing and I'm sure OP 2 will get there but whenever you hear "we rebuilt it from the ground up" its very different than an enhancement to core software. There will be bugs and integration issues and time needed for third party vendors to optimize their plugins and modules for the software.

      Cheers! Thanks again for sharing.

Well, some promotional efforts on top of all the mess.
Well, reader, benefit from my experience, believe whoever you want, but:

    - even if the bugs are take out of OP20, I think OP20 is NOT for newbies. Not now, not later.
(use Leadpages instead (no aff.link, no own benefit here), it´s hosted by them, that works, is easy and solid, no BS,good responsive support!). As a newby I don´t think you get something running quickly, not as quick as in Leadpages (sorry to promote them, but I´ve had a good experience, only decided to try OP20 because I do have extensive IM experience and wanted some more options...).

    - now, with all the bugs and hardly any support for OP20, I would say anybody in its
right mind should stay away from it, till you hear it´s stable.

This is a software product which is not tested properly, no doubt, it´s still full of bugs.
E.g. support in 1 (1/1) no so useful reply I got recommended only using the plugin with a standard WP theme...
And basically de-activate the rest of the plugins. You´d better install the OP20 theme then I guess...
    "Throw away the OP20 plugin!"
When you´ve got the older OP20 plug installed and want to upgrade to the new one (and WP doesn´t offer you to upgrade), you´re stuck. You can´t export the pages. The list is endless...

I can already visualize at some day in July, James Dyson in one of his mastermind meetings telling other guys: "yeah, but the software hasn´t been tested fully, still quite a lot of bugs", and then the experienced other mastermind guys telling him: "ah, just launch it, you´ll get some more
refunds and some angry reviews, but they´ll be free beta testers for you and you at least start to make money". Sad reality. They´ll justify by saying you can get a refund, bla bla bla, etc. But that doesn´t make up for the wasted time!

Then, don´t be suprised now :-) on the positive side; Optimizepress 20 is of course
a product of potentially the Premier League, let´s be honest, a Warrior forum offer of $7 would not
have created such high expectations. So, for the experienced people: wait till the bugs are ironed out (a few months?), then I think OP20 could be very useful. OK; that´s it, my last post here :-) Back to work!

      A very quick update...

I put in a support ticket the day before yesterday about the issues I'm having. Given that, unlike some users here, I don't have a handful or more income producing sites - I have just one - and it isn't producing anything at the moment because of the OP2 failure - getting a swift response to my support ticket and an equally swift fix is very important to me. Two days wait, and two days lost income, is totally unacceptable.

I'm sure that all the bugs will be ironed out in the end, but I might have jumped off a very high cliff by then.

Just go back to what you were using before OP2 launched. Its gonna be a few months before most of the bugs are worked out. Im assuming you were using OP1 before that. I would switch back before you lose too much dough.

    A quick review.
    Here's what OP2 is missing:
    - no custom autoresponders forms! That's a problem. I have my own platform that generates html forms. OP1 did the job, but can't see a way to do this in OP2.
    - page templates design is not as good as in Lead Pages
    - some important templates are missing, on my point of view, like the full screen background image with the optin form

    What is good in OP2:
    - the fact that comes in both plugin and theme, gives you a lot of freedom and choices
    - the integration with the membership plugin seems good (haven't test it yet on the field)
    - the layout design is good (but doesn't work on Safari) and gives you more flexibility compared to Lead Pages

However, I'm sure that the people at OP are reading this and being a long time customer, I know they will fix and improve.

    Cheers.

The other thing is how does the plugin integrate with your existing theme?

For example, I have another plugin....a directory plugin that works great with my theme...I just integrate it and my header and footer is still there. The page content is what changes but my header and footer makes people think they are still on my website without some drastic change. In fact all of my plugins work with my existing theme like this. If my other plugins work well with my site, why can't this? Isn't that the point of a plugin?

I just don't understand why you can't create a page..but use your existing theme navigation menu and footer? It just seems if these other plugins can do that, this would be able to as well. It helps with keeping the visitors to the site that they stay on the site and everything is the same look and feel.

I love the options you get with OP2 but I want to incorporate those options into my existing look and feel. If I change the way the information is displayed, visitors see the change---and they are savvy...they think something is up. I also have ideas of using existing content organization from OP2 on some of my pages using the tools from OP2..but I can't do that without using their header/footer. It seems I should be able to do that as the tools are great for creating pages.

If you use an existing theme and want to keep the same look and feel of your website..if you suddenly change to a squeeze page that looks different, people can spot that today. Maybe a year or two ago people didn't care about that...but with responsive technology and more savvy web surfers...you need to have all of your branding and site match...you don't have your home page look one way and then you send them to a squeeze page that looks different.

Now with if you are using this as a theme, that's different. I'm not talking about a theme..I'm discussing using this as a plugin like all of my other plugins that work with existing theme and my visitors don't know I am using a plugin because everything looks the same. That's how you differentiate a high quality site from amateur. I can't tell you all of the sites I've seen that look so similar it's so easy to spot. Differentiate your theme but having the plugin work with your theme and keep the same style header, footer of your theme.

But we need this feature to be able to do it. I hope they can do it...if they can it would be great!

This is the same problem I had when looking at Premise when it was originally released. They should all be defaulting to your current theme colors, layout, fonts, navigation. Now, to use their design, membership, and backend business integration features, you have to recreate your basic styling within their plugin. With OP2, you can do it once, create a template of your own, and go on from there. But, it should pull that stuff from your site.

I returned Premise when Brian Clarke messaged me that "Landing and sales pages are different". He did not get your point of site consistency at all.

LOL, yes, tell that to a large brand like Pepsi, Microsoft, or Google. Their landing and sales pages match their brand is the point.

Do you know how to pull from your existing site navigation, header, footer, etc...? Would you need to add custom css or how would you accomplish this?

Well, supposedly this is the last day for the discount for past OP customers. In the July 31 launch email it said that the discount would be "up for the next 7 days." I would be shocked if they don't extend the discount since the launch has been such a disaster but we will see.

I was really looking forward to the new version but I am glad now I did not purchase it. This has not been some typical "launch" bugs that people are experiencing. This is a "product" failure. To all those that keep saying it will all get worked out I would remind you that we were also told the version 2 would be released in... and then in... and then in...

I hate to say it but I think I am done with OP forever. If they are having such serious trouble with 2 I doubt if they will keep supporting version 1 so I will be moving to another theme altogether.

Im going to wait even though Im gonna miss the discount. If I have to spend an extra $100 in 3 months so be it. They really should extend the discount, i mean if it was working good I would have bought it already. We shouldnt miss out on the discount because of their f*** up.

I'm in the same position. I would have purchased OP 2 under the discount but I cannot because of the instability, issues and bugs reported by many users. The negative feedback about service and support and the prior rolling release dates were also big red flags.

I would rather spend extra money than my time and effort in frustration troubleshooting items that should work.

I'm sure the kinks will get worked out but its probably going to be months. I too think they should extend the loyalty discount. From a customer service perspective they should be doing something, especially considering the failure of this launch.

BTW, from what I understand OP 2 is not an enhancement or based on the code of OP 1. It's been rebuilt from the ground up and a complete rewrite. Thus, customers are not purchasing an upgrade so to speak, they are purchasing a new software based on the features, concept, etc. of a prior software.

        Cheers to all.

I believe they extended it to 8/14 due to problems during their initial launch causing delays. As of yesterday, they had updated OP 2.0, to OP2.04. They've had a few issues, and temporarily closed purchasing for a few days. But it's available now at launch prices for a few more days...

Please bear in mind that you may not export all pages that was created using Page Builder in current OP2 domain to another OP2 domain using Tools>>export in wordpress. Because only previous page will blank content will be created but all settings, graphics, wordings etc whether it's landing page or members page that has been created using Page Builder in OP2 previously will be gone... Oucch!!!

I could not import all my settings in previous OP2 xml to another OP2...

Having purchased OP2 on the day of the launch we had a week where the new theme was unusable. We did get it working eventually after 5 days, however using new customers as a beta tester doesn't make for a great customer experience. We still have a few support tickets open to help iron out some bugs, from OP's Facebook page it looks like they'll be releasing a few updates next week too.

OP2 has been brought kicking and screaming into the world, it's taking it's first steps and trying to walk and hopefully will be fully stable soon. It is a great system for building marketing pages, it's just a little frustrating to use right now since it feels like it's an 80% finished product.

A nice gesture from OptimizePress support was that they gave me a further 10 licenses as a gesture of goodwill for the issues we'd had in the launch period.

I bought it when it launched and I've found it to be very buggy.

I can't get a header to upload. Connecting to Aweber was a problem (now fixed). And now I can't figure out how to use a custom form I created in Aweber that has several questions, when I add the code to OP2, it only shows the basic name and email fields.

The worst part, whenever I need to figure something out, unless I'm missing something, there is no manual/instructions. Yes, I know there are videos on their site, but most of them are basic things like setup, install, etc. You're on your own on a lot of things.

I've sent emails to support, they responded to one, haven' heard back from the other and it's been about 3 days.

When the bugs are ironed out it will be GREAT. But as of now, it's been very frustrating.

What I did was go ahead and buy Version 2, knowing that is currently a bit crap and buggy, and with no intention of using it for a while.
I'm sticking to Version 1 for now. I know for sure that Version 2 will become a great tool, but it's just not ready now.
In the meantime I secured the price I wanted to pay and some amazing bonuses that I would have paid to get anyway, so i still got a lot of value from this unusable version!

They could have avoided all of this trouble by simply inviting 100 product testers, giving them a free copy in exchange for finding bugs and gaps in functionality. I have no doubt they will get it fixed up eventually. OP is a solid product backed by solid people but this launch has turned into a bit of a PR disaster. I'll hold off and buy in a month or two when the dust has settled. I wish them the best in getting over this and dealing with the current wave of disgruntled purchasers. Lessons to be learned here.

I asked for refund the day after the launch when I purchased it. Took 2 weeks to get the refund.
I just hated the constant "ok?" confirmation boxes popping up and most everything else about the designer. Decided to buy the Instabuilder dev license instead and I'll stick with that for now.

I bought v2, three hours later I requested a refund as I don't pay to be someone's beta tester.

I then went to try and use my old copy of v1 and most of the online documentation is broken as the v1 site was moved to another domain. This makes me wonder what else is broken in v1 so now I have gone over to instabuilder which looks like it does the job.

I don't really have much sympathy for someone who doesn't do any testing, or even worse rolls out incomplete software fully aware of the bugs.

I requested a refund on the 26th, today is the 29th and I haven't heard a single word from support. 3 days and not a peep. By tomorrow it has been 30 days since I purchased. I have a bad feeling that they are going to deny my refund request once 30 days is passed.

I have no way of contacting anyone from OP2. I don't know what to do.
Not issuing you a refund would be against the law and you can sue them for it.

Finally had the space and time to get my first page up. On the OP site, they forewarned of uploading through chrome or Firefox. I'm on a Mac and my default browsers is Safari.

Anyway... I installed both other browsers, and contacted my host ( blue host... It was 3 am their time) and easily got them to upgrade my upload size to 50mb

OP gives instructions on how to FTP or file upload also. As I'm not totally au fait with this process and although their training would suffice, I just went the easier route in contacting my server host.

Now... With not really looking at any tutorials on how to configure OP2 I had a great time on a short learning curve, to design my first page. Still to integrate my main video, and auto responder, which I'm hoping will be a smooth ride, I am more than happy with the results.

OP 2 makes ME look good. Nay, scrub that... Look like a pro.

I know there have and continue to be bugs and issues etc, and that my build is not time sensitive, but my results so far, have been so sublime...

Maybe I'm biased, biased towards my own niche, but I feel that there are enough templates and configs, to make me, at least... A very happy bunny..

Good luck to everyone using OP2 and hope that whatever your experience in using it, meets or will meet your required goals.

    It does mine.

    Regards

    James

      Regards

      James

      Gotta love this forum...

I've emailed them three times in the last 10 days requesting some examples of their membership sites, blog samples, etc, because this visual is no where to be found on their sales page. I received one response to a link for existing customers but failed to answer the other questions. I tried replying twice requesting a look-see at some of their pages, styles, but no response. Not encouraging at all to be honest!

I'm considering upgrading from 1.0 but I need to know if it's worth it. Right now, all I know is that it has a drag and drop editor, which upon reading some reviews, isn't all that to rave about. So if there are other major features to be known, seen, it would be great to see them in action. Does anyone have example sites they care to share?

    Cheers!

    James! Interesting review...
My personal experience: the support of OP20 keeps sucking ... big time!
They give either low quality unuseful replies or they just leave you out there with your issues. They don´t give a crap about their customers. It´s a incredible buggy software product. And I never ever have written bad about any product in the past 4 years online. So, go figure. If you have real experience with the latest op20 I can´t imagine you haven´t had any issues, I would say, impossible, or you´re hardly using 20% of the features. A long long list of issues... Well, a potential great product, more than 6 weeks after launch still full of bugs and still crap support.
OK; that was my rant updated.
    Good luck.

Still to put a link up for my page... and tutus, yes I probably don't use anywhere near its potential. Sorry to hear of you having issues and such. Wouldn't leave a good taste in my mouth either... Wish you well in getting it sorted.

This is a re-post from another thread.

I upgraded to Optimize Press 2. I am waiting for my refund to be processed. I cannot get a post to show the full text as per my general WP settings...

If I try to make my main post a sticky, I get 2 identical posts...that are summarized.

The live editor does not seem to have a way to revert to your old settings...The list goes on and on.

I do not have the time to play around with tech support. Maybe, I'll try again later. As of present, I could use the $197 for something else.

Installed it the other day on my web design site after the old theme broke due to a Wordpress shortcode update. It's just a straight forward corporate style website, no membership area (yet) etc but I have to say, I have found this theme to be really excellent. I was able to reproduce in a couple of hours what took a week to put together coding up html and css. I find the live editor to be pretty amazing, definitely the best click and drag editor out there - way ahead of Headway Themes etc.
Maybe the support has improved since a couple of weeks back, I've had support tickets answered within 6 hours. That said, I have come across one layout bug that I'm looking to get an answer back on today.
Bear in mind that I haven't been digging too deep into the theme potential eg complicated sales funnels etc - maybe that is where the bulk of the bugs are. So far, I'm more than impressed - tempted to say this is the best theme I've ever used... I'll report back again in a couple of days when the site is live, if I encounter any major problems I'll post them here.

  • I am using OP2 and the layouts are alright but nothing to get excited about. It will take a bit to figure out as far as utilizing elements and such. Once you do though it is pretty seamless. Like anything else it is just using a new system. I still have not figured out where the blog is at so I can include the link to my navigation structure as I run my site as STATIC page. I have noticed that every time a update is issued you have to go back and update the display for the header and footer areas. So far overall though its not bad but it does need a lot of work.

I've just finished setting up a blog with OP2 and I've gotta say, I found it really easy to do. Each section has a short video that explains what it does and how to do it. It's pretty straight forward and, in my opinion, has a much better interface than OP1.

I haven't made a landing/sales page with it yet so here's hoping that when I do, it will be as stress free!

      Will keep you updated...

To my understanding and knowledge, being an OP2.0 customer, for membership sites - Optimize Press is superior to LeadPages.

I've been using OP2 for a few weeks and the bugs are quite frustrating...for example I managed to break a whole page with some Javascript and found out there's no way to repair the page so I have to start from scratch...

What's worse is that the support is very slow, I have to chase 3-4 times to get a response and it takes a week sometimes to hear back.

I hope James and his team can get this fixed soon or I'll have to give up and try an alternative. It's a shame because the concept is great and the features are awesome if/when you can get it to work, just the support is sorely lacking.

For now, I would say don't buy OptimizePress 2 if you have something that's working for you.

P.S. LeadPages is a lot better in some respects but it's not as customisable, and not many Adwords compliant templates, so it's a no go if you're using PPC traffic.

I have thoroughly tested out OP 2, I've already built over 20 sites for clients using all functions, adding forums, protecting different pages in forums, customising welcome message, facebook comments, tweaking css layouts with full blown membership access.

I would say I've put it through it paces and probably annoyed the hell out of their support team.

Optimize Members is outstanding, it integrates well with Paypal and Clickbank and the ability to protect downloads or any file in the Optmize Member directory is awesome.

Anyway with that said it is full of bugs and today really tested my patience after I updated to 2.1.4

It seemed that a plugin is probably causing the issue but I don't have the man hours to find out what's wrong.

I appreciate that all software takes some testing and require lots of support but I can't go through deactivating every pluign after each upgrade.

    SOLUTION

Use it on its own, don't use too many plugins on your sites and you should be safe.

What percentage of the bugs have been fixed?

If I just want to make basic lead capture pages and basic sales pages without doing any fancy customization, will this suffice or are the bugs getting in the way even the most basic features?

I've used it for multiple live sites. Including an election campaign. They just did an update of some minor bugs last week or so. The main issue will be with conflicting plugins if any, but that's a small issue that I haven't experienced (just an assumption).

I mainly use OP as is. It's pretty all inclusive for tools. I combine it with my video player plugin.

Can you put a squeeze page and sales page on the same domain? If so, would this count as "1 site" or "2 sites"?

Also, if you buy the $97 package, can you upgrade to the $197 by paying $100 more or do you have to start all over again?

      Hi,

I'm an existing member of OP 2.0.

Ans 1) Yes, you can put as many pages as you like on the SAME Domain. 1 domain = 1 API Key.

Ans 2) You don't have to start all over again. You just need to pay the difference. (There's an option for you to do so in the member's area)

    Hi there,

I purchased Optimizepress 2.0 around a month ago, and in my opinion it's the best website builder around, that builds pages in minutes.

    You Can:
    • Build Squeeze Pages
    • Sales Pages
    • Create a blog
    • Webinar Pages
    • Etc
There training and support is top notch and complain, if you look below in my signature area. That website is built with optimizepress 2.0. I think it's brilliant and creates high converting landing pages.

    Hope this helped

I clicked on the link above. It says 404 error when it lands on the domain.

I then manually went to the domain and it's just a few lines of text.

I think it makes the site look so professional. I am still working on the whole site, but am tired of procrastinating so am forging ahead. Mistakes and design faults or no...
