Can anyone recommend a good video creation software?

Lots of choices...I'll introduce you to three that I own.

This is excellent software and you can create some very professional videos. It is not a "marketing" product...it is a video product.

ProShow Gold - Fast and Fun HD Slideshows

These next two are made for marketers...

This one creates batches of videos and you can actually combine images and videos and spin them together.

This is is a little different and you have to pay for credits but you get a bunch of credits for free when you purchase. The WSO is is closed but you can still buy it. If you want a bunch of spinning options this one has them. FWIW some folks may not like the bounce transition that this one has.

Just yesterday I discovered flixpress. I think it does exactly what you are looking for and it's all online. There are some free options too, check it out: Website video creation - create high-end video and animation online in your website browser

  I highly recommend Proshow Gold or Proshow Producer if can afford it. I've been producing video slideshows for years for fun and profit and think it's the best available. The company is photodex.
  
  Here is an example of a fishing trip with my father and his best friend who came from San Diego to visit me in Louisiana. My best friend took us on his boat. It's best to give it time to load. About a 12 minute video.

Easy Video Suite is pretty good if you don't need to do a lot of complex video editing.

I'll give another vote for Camtasia. In last several years I tried about 7 or 8 different video editors, still Camtasia remains my choice. Intuitive and friendly interface and lots of features. My second choice would be Pinnacle Studio.

According to me Proshow Gold is the best software for creating video or editing video but if you want to modify it and give it extra ordinary touch then you should use after effects too and you can use lots of plugins of after effects to give it a professional touch.
