Just as the title says.

I use CrocWeb.com, they are located in Montreal and so far excellent service and the prices are quite good also.

Netfirms is crap. It was bought out by EIG and liquidated. Horrible mess in 2011. Nothing ... literally nothing at all ... is left from the old company. It was so bad that EIG quit migrating to vDeck after that.

    Crocweb is excellent.

I had a few domains hiosted with SoftCom.com (Toronto) for a while and only moved as I wanted a UK host. A friend still uses them and as far as I'm aware is happy with the service.

I read a write up in profit magazine and it mentioned a Canadian host: HostPapa.com / HostPapa.ca

I don't have any personal experience using them but from I understand they are a Canadian owned company.

If you're seeking a Canadian host company because you want to have your site's server located in Canada, then be sure to ask / check into that.

For instance crocweb appears to be a Canadian company, but the crocweb.com domain itself is hosted in Toledo, Ohio. So perhaps it's the same for customer domains they host(?)

For HostPapa.ca, their domain server's ns1 looks to be in the US, while its ns2 DNS is in Toronto. Maybe, if those are the same for client domains, you could reverse those to make the Toronto server primary? (not an expert on that)

It's likely not a factor to host in the same country your traffic originates in, but for loading speed and PERHAPS a tiny fraction of SEO benefit, it may be beneficial. I have a website that primarily targets one city and purposely sought out a host company with its servers physically located in that city. Can't hurt. Might help.

Quicker speed because of local datacentre? I use MyHosting VPS for my site, DentistFind. 1000 daily Canadian visitors consistently, no issues thus far.

If you're looking for shared hosting you can consider Site 5 or if you're looking for eco-friendly hosting you could consider Green Geeks.

There's another company (can't exactly remember the full name though it was q something) that does really well for dedicated server; quite a few major cities and companies host with them though I don't remember them at the moment sry.

      NEVER GO WITH GREENGEEK!!!

You have set resources and if you get too much traffic any moment all your sites go down. So if you get 10 visitors on your sites at once then your sites become unavailable. Most of the other hosts give you average resources per day/month. For site5 you can go above your resources at any time and they will warn you if you go above your site for a period of time but your sites do not become unavailable.
