Hey guys, I'm finally ready to ditch my old Logitech headset - what is the best reasonably priced USB microphone these days? What should I get?

I use these: Creative Soundblaster Tactic3D Wrath Wireless Headset With Usb Transmitter 0054651174061 | eBay

Great noise cancelling and good pick up of voice without picking up PC fan noise etc.

For superior sound quality and bang for your buck, a condenser microphone would suit (since you'll be stationed at your desk for screen capture vids).

I recently bought thisI recently bought this
Awesome sound quality and if you are into music/recording, it will do the job nicely as well. Get a pop filter and boom stand and you are set.

I currently use the Blue Yeti for all my interviews and reviews. It works well and is inexpensive under $100.

I use a skype phone handset, as a microphone.

    Maybe you could try that?

I recently bought the Samson Meteor and it's a nice mic.
It doesn't have a lot of features (an on/off button) but it works and the sound quality is amazing

I have to agree with those who've given the thumbs up to the Blue Yeti. You might also want to look at the VoxGuard from Primacoustic. The VG is a sound attenuator and it eliminates ambient noise and echo -- in other words it helps make the room less "lively" and that's important. They retail for under 100.00.

I should mention that you can get them at most musical instrument stores. They can sit on your desk or they can be attached to the mic stand. I use the latter configuration and it's great.

Oh and consider getting a windscreen or better yet, a pop filter for your mic too.

    Regards,
    jim

I use a cheap $20 Logitech headset I purchased from Walmart. I hold many Skype meetings and webinars using this headset and it has always served me well.

I also use the Blue Yeti. You won't be disappointed! Since it's around Christmas time don't forget to look for local coupons at places like Guitar Center, I believe I got mine for $65 at Guitar Center (with sale/coupon).

I was using a Yapster TM-YB100A headset and liked the quality but upgraded to a Blue Yeti for $69 on Black Friday at Amazon. Haven't used it yet but it's suppose to be the best in it's price range.
